Do you have priority boarding? If not, I doubt you will be getting to the terminal that early and just walk on with the first boarding group. Toy might want to wait until 1 is boarding with the masses.
The reason you need reservations is that there are way more people onboard than seats in entertainment venues on the mega ships (on the older ships no need for reservations). It’s the same with specialty restaurants, especially since they give meals away with perks. It’s mainly the my time dining with no set seatings, which is our favorite part of NCL.
I’ve never seen any there, only if someone grabbed them after disembarking and happened to be bringing up their luggage. We never had a wheelchair, but we did manage with 5 children (and back in the day a case of water). We’ve used them after the cruise and tipped at least $20.
You won’t be able to ditch your carryon luggage until around 1:30 or so when cabins are ready. Since we usually to straight to a MDR after boarding, we are usually just finished up with lunch when cabins are ready.
You definitely want to reserve specialty dining and shows ahead of time, on the app or on screens onboard. You can drink as much as you’d like, most drinks are included but if not, you just pay the difference over $15 plus gratuity on that amount. We are a family of 7 and have never made MDR reservations. After boarding we head to the open MDR for a relaxing lunch.
I doubt you can check bags that early before your flight, and the trip can take an hour each way. Maybe look into luggage storage in Manhattan, post on the east coast departures board.
Even when that package existed my kids had to pay for beer and wine, even though they were both #2 in the cabin, only the soda package was given to them.
I think it’s the same as the regular UDP, it would be so easy to share that premium beverage package with someone with just one paying for the upgrade.
When we were on the Jewel years ago, my 12 year old son wore shorts in the fancy MDR, he was asked his age. I should’ve just packed some pants for him, he was tall.
I know this, but soon we will need real id to travel domestically by air, so we can just use passport cards, getting a passport is easier than getting real ID here.
I suspect a broken leg would have you off the ship regardless of having a passport, my family of 7 adults all have valid passports, worth the expense for us, especially since real Id is a PITA to get here, but plenty of folks don’t travel internationally often. I imagine only a very small amount of travelers run into issues cruising without a passport.
