  1. All I can say that when on a ship with some moderate seas and going to some areas way forward, there was way more motion and I had to move back to midships. Just sayin.
  2. We will drink about anything as long as it is cold and wet - and white. LOL! We may take a bit more than 2 bottles. If they take them, no big deal.
  3. As mentioned above, all the cruise ships leave from the port near the foot of Ramblas. There are all kinds of hotels on or near Ramblas that would be fine. Quick 10 minute cab ride to the pier.
  4. "954" is not a toll free number area code. They usually have numbers like 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844 or 833
  5. Not sure what an "access key" is, but will add a casino booking does not include that $300.
  6. How close to they inspect looking for wine when boarding? Box wine?
  7. Thanks.... a few years back we were doing lots on NCL - comped. Was able to get a suite a few times along the way as well. Never come out ahead, but have fun. Off to Vegas soon. Thanks for feedback on his "sessions", but sounds like even that detail was not even questioned. I have had a number of "mail audit/questions" in the past and all were handled with a single letter back to them. Not gambling related - yet.
  8. Thank you very much. The whole gambling thing with the IRS is a mess. I have studied the session thing and going to do that next year. And, am going to submit a correction to this past year using that as well. One extra question. What session have you used? Year, each casino visit, each trip or daily? As said, IRS has not made it clear, and even if one person gets one way accepted, it does not mean the next will. I would add LOL - but it is not funny! P.S. I WILL NOT WASTE ANY TIME DISCUSSING IF THERE SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT BE A TAX IN THE FIRST PLACE or on WINNINGS. Not gonna waste brain cells on that.
  9. Kwokpot: thanks for reply. I am assuming you have gotten the W2g from other cruiselines? Do you know of others besides MSC that does not do the W2G? Also, if you could answer in just a few sentences how you were reporting the gambling winnings that caused a "discussion": with the IRS? Guessing that almost everyone just lists them, pays taxes and that is it. But, there are some that say you can report "session winnings" meaning a much lower tax.
  10. Looking to do Norway cruise on either ship. Preziosa from Hamburg or Sailed lots, mostly NCL, so new to MSC. Will probably get Balcony via Casino.
  11. I know some can not make the stairs, but we walk the stairs as much as possible. Why? We eat and drink and SIT way too much. Taking 5-10 flights of stairs is not difficult.
  12. The correct form is a w2G for slots. Not a 1099. Yes, you are supposed to report all winnings, but who here won money on a cruise. Even with a $1200 win, it usually goes back into the machine. Therefore, no win. Some cruiselines do fill out the W2g and submit it. Not all of them will due to where there corporate offices are.
  13. Do they send them to "casino guests"?
  14. We are looking at MSC out of either Hamburg or Kiel. Thoughts, feedback. These are 10/11 nights
  15. Just found this page with all the MATCHES!! Did not see Caesars listed anywhere. https://www.mscbook.com/pages/sdl/img/B2B_TA_Status Match_Conversion Table.pdf
  16. the rule makes good sense. They offer those deals to "proven gamblers' with the expectation they will make some donations in the casino to help cover the cost of the cabin. Just like land based casinos.
  17. WARNING TO OTHERS Make sure you have an email that is NOT connected to your phone company or internet provider or neighborhood, etc. Get an email that will always follow you and not go away. With that said, I have been able to log into my Mothers old cable email for years after she moved and then passed.
