My flight was changed from 1:20 to 10:30 which I know is not doable. Best I can switch to is noon. Ship docks at 8. Plan to carry off luggage. I’m platinum but it’s a journeys cruise with no priority disembark. Hate to risk it and worry about it the whole cruise but not sure what else I can do.

Unfortunately no priority disembark since it’s a journeys cruise but will try and get a low number and take luggage off. It’s a Sunday so fingers crossed not much traffic to LAX. Wish we could have found a flight to Long Beach but those seem to be non existent from the east coast.

Hi, returning from a Hawaii cruise in October and the airline has changed my flight to earlier. Our itinerary states we dock at 8. What is your experience with how quickly they start disembarking after docking? I plan on getting the earliest time and carrying my luggage off. Just read though since it’s a journeys cruise there’s no priority disembark.

I’m going on my first Journeys cruise and didn’t know that there is no priority embark, disembark or tender. Bummer.☹️

Did it stop at a good beach? The free one supposedly had a stop at a beach where you might see turtles in the water.

Cruising on other lines where supposedly smoking is only allowed in the casino WHILE ACTIVELY PLAYING, we know it’s not enforced. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen someone light up as they walked in or be sitting at a slot machine smoking and not playing. I’m afraid it will just turn into an indoor place to vape. After cruising mostly other lines I was so looking forward to Celebrity’s nonsmoking casino.

Has anyone been to Kona lately and can verify if the free trolley is currently running?

1995- 3 night on the Big Red Boat in a porthole stateroom. Disney was coming out with their first cruise ship so the Big Red Boat had just switched from the Disney characters to Looney Tunes characters. Then did a Disney 3 years later in an interior. Found out how claustrophobic I was so last time for an inside. First full week cruise was in 2003 on Celebrity Summit to Alaska in a balcony and I was hooked!

I’m wondering if there’s much of a nonsmoking area in the casino. Have you been in there? TIA

Thanks for the replies. Normally we take 7-8 night cruises in a balcony and fly coach. This cruise is a BTB Australia to NZ and then Australia which is 21 days total. We are doing pre and post hotels, staying in a SS and flying business. When I put in the length and cost on insure my trip I’m in sticker shock! For those of you that have done a long overseas trip, is $4000-$5000 normal? We are in our 60’s without preexisting conditions. Looked at the yearly insurance but it looks like you have to have this in place before you book your trip.

Very surprised at the cost of Celebrity’s cruise insurance for the retreat. We are in the cheapest suite. We usually buy the cruise insurance when reasonable. I’m guessing there’s better options out there. Anyone find a good company that will cover air and cruise cheaper than Celebrity’s plan?

Can be very long waits for a drink as some waiters will go all around the casino taking orders before going to the bar to fill them. I’ve spent a lot more money waiting for my drink than 5he drink is worth. I do tip with every drink which some say they get quick service. Yes, they may come to you quickly but your drink may take awhile.

Hi, flying from Charlotte through LAX to Sydney. Do we need to collect our luggage in LAX and go through security again before heading to Sydney or on return do we need to get our luggage in LAX and go through customs before flying on to Charlotte? Trying to figure out how much connection time we need.

On the Spirit last month. Ate dinner in the MDR every night but one on a 8 night cruise. We had MTD and always got a table within 15 minutes. The food at dinner was always hot and mostly good especially the beef dishes. Guys burgers were just as good as always however as mentioned before the fries are now frozen. The pizza was good. Ate seaday brunch all 3 sea days. It was very good but service was slow. The buffet was good at breakfast and lunch but seriously lacking at dinner. Did not do any specialty restaurants. First cruise since Covid and didn’t feel the quality had changed. You might miss the the variety of specialty restaurants that the newer ships have.

We don’t see any ships tours that interest us in Kona. We are doing Volcanoes National Park in Hilo so don’t need another Volcano tour. Any good beaches near the port or any must see here? We aren’t doing a beach at any other port.
