Just there last week. Sebastian’s bar and restaurant has covered seating. There beach chairs are $10 each. No umbrellas. There is roped off seating with some shade but it was reserved for tour groups. The big downside was the water doesn’t get more than 3 feet deep and it’s very rocky getting in.It is clean and clear but there are waverunners?parasailers? that will crash right into you. We did a private taxi tour for $100 then were dropped off here. Did not bring my water shoes. Big mistake. Looked like another bar with shaded seated next door. Sebastian’s has bathrooms. According to our tour guide this is the only sandy beach and only good kids beach. Most come to Bonaire to Scubadive he said and pointed out all the places for that.

I’m doing Celebrity round trip Sydney. I’d assumed you needed to use Australian $$ in the slot machines but wondered how they cashed out since it’s worth more in Australian dollars.

That’s the pre cruise land tour. I can’t find the cruise info. I hope that’s limited too. Just wonder where on the ship they will be “intimate and sensual”.

I had one cruise years @go on RC that had a large group and several lounges were closed for them though out the cruise. I’m worried about my Australia cruise next March. There’s a group called Rockstar Adventures that states they have a private charter and it’s an adult intimate and sensual group. Sounds like a swinger group to me. wonder where they will be doing their swinging? This is a bucket list trip for us with that’s a BTB. I know any cruise can change to a private charter if they can fill it.

Is this just heading towards the gulf coast of Florida not the east coast of Florida and the Bahamas?

It sounds like it’s mostly western now. Wondering if and when it will hit the eastern Caribbean. Headed to Half Moon Cay in two weeks. Would hate for that beautiful island to be hit.

I guess I will download a bunch on Netflix just in case. I liked the old days when Carnival had network TV. Now nothing to watch.

Quoting a tour company that makes a stop there”sandy white beaches and gorgeous turquoise water 2-3 feet deep. Perfect for families with children. Wonderful restaurants tiki style bars and beach wear shops are located there.” There’s a taxi stand when you exit the pier with set prices.

With premium wifi is streaming like with Netflix, Hulu, Apple, etc work well? In so many reviews there’s complaints about slow wifi and wondering how hard it is too watch movies while streaming.

I hope it’s better than the dry tasteless free popcorn.

Any self laundry facilities on the ship?

Curious if most cruise lines are still moving you if positive or letting you quarantine in your stateroom. I would prefer to stay in my room with a balcony or window vs being put down on deck 1. The bad thing about that is you could have had a sick family coughing all over your room the morning of the day you are going to be in that room.

Last time I was on this class of ship there were only a few nonsmoking slot machines. Wondering and hoping there’s a nonsmoking section now. Anyone recently on the Spirit that can answer that? Is the casino as a whole still extremely smoky or have they improved ventilation? Thanks!

I would expect Covid cases to be higher this year than last year due to unvaccinated and no testing. I’m wondering if there are more medical evacuations . On a 7 night cruise I would guess that a lot of people won’t show symptoms till they get home. I’d hate to be sick on a long flight home. Previously you couldn’t get on a flight home if you were positive. I have yet to cruise post Covid but have two scheduled. With 25+ cruises I had food poisoning once and nothing else. I do avoid the buffet and the elevator as much as possible. It’s hard to avoid crowds if you like shows or even dining in the MDR. You would hope that obviously sick cruisers would isolate themselves but there’s a lot of it’s my cruise and I’ll do what I want.

Got balcony offers on many ships again today. Now going till October 2024. Several on Venezia were interior, OV or balcony for$100pp and get it back as OBC. Of course still had port fees and taxes. Some were sold out when I checked again tonight. Would love to try the ship but don’t like sailing out of NYC except to NE and Canada.

Doesn’t help after the fact but I always take a picture of the offer and save it on my phone.

Hi, jumping in on this thread. Will be leaving on Carnival out of Long beach in October. Are there any hotels within walking distance of a grocery store or even better a Walmart or Target? Thanks!

Wish I could take advantage of a long cruise like that. I guess you could also put together some BTBTB to skip the high air. I have a Hawaii cruise that my best offer was $300 OBC and drinks in the casino but no great discounted fare. Even when it was just about sold out some on that cruise got a free casino offer.

Extended balcony on Mardi Gras. $100 deposit given as OBC. $200 casino credit. First time getting balcony offers. Always lots of interior and OV casino offers always with drinks on us while playing in the casino. Still have never got drinks anywhere offer. Have been getting free Australia cruises offers since before Australia opened back up but the airfare is $$$$.

I get offers everyday. Usually just interior and OV. Last month I started getting balcony offers too. I booked Mardi Gras next year in an extended balcony. $100 each(plus port fees and taxes) with the $100 back as OBC. I get drinks on us in the casino while playing. I spend a few hundred a day and once got a large hand pay. I’ve never been offered a suite, drinks anywhere or even a steakhouse dinner.

Will be on the Spirit in April. First time to Bonaire. Looks like a great port!
