  1. Any updates to CURRENT tea kettle in balcony cabin of EPIC? Last time (before covid) I was on a Norwegian ship the kettle was actually an old Mr Coffee type coffee pot. I'm a tea nut and dont like to wait for room service in the AM, sometimes also make tea in the middle of the night to help myself sleep. Photo online shows a one-cupper type often found in a marriott hotel but I dont know if that photo is currently accurate. To anyone who can supply a current Photo of the "kettle" for making hot water, I would be much appreciated. Descriptions helpful too. Thanks in advance.
  2. Any update to library on escape since it was refurbished in 2022?
  3. Are these channels still current? Particularly interested in CNBC on the escape.
  4. is there a charge on Royal to bring a bottle of wine onboard for consumption in the cabin?
  5. Any classical music on Royal. Either in the main stage or pre-post-dinner at the bars? Am considering a cruise Singapore to Dubai next month on Serenade. First time Royal although I've cruised quite a bit primarily on Holland America and Cunard.
  6. Has anyone been on the Infinity recently and can confirm that the previously referenced dry dock refurbs actually occurred. What was refurbished? I still read of many many maintenance issues on this ship. Is Starlink active on Infinity and are there still connection issues?
  7. Thanks richyak and bike runner. I have read posts that the wifi on Infinity is spotty/poor. Anyone have direct recent experience of wifi on the Infinity? Also, is there Anytime dining (arrive when you wish) with or without the ability to share a table in Lumanie or Blu? Traveling solo I enjoy meeting different people every night by sharing a table at dinner. And Celebrity website description of Aqua Sky Suite says :Complimentary in-suite specialty coffees What does that mean if not a coffee maker in the suite?
  8. Cruised over 50 times (primarily HAL, Cunard, some Princess, scattering of small ships) but only once on Celebrity. Considering an upcoming solo cruise through Greece on Infinity in aqua sky suite. Retreat details on websites are meager. Appreciate any elaboration particularly relative to Infinity ship which has not been revolutionized and I read is in poor shape as it is for sale and Celebrity isn't investing more than minimal repairs (may be rumor). 1) Are ALL speciality restaurants complimentary with retreat? Any? 2) Is there an actual coffee maker in sky suite? Can it be used to make hot water for tea? 3) Premium drinks are included in my fare. Can I order complimentary drinks in all restaurants, Michael's pub any time, all bars on ship? 4) How is quality of wifi on the Infinity? Premium wifi is included in my fare. 5) Other lines include complimentary laundry in upper level suites (eg Neptune HAL) but I see no mention for the aqua sky suite. Should I assume laundry not complimentary? Any additional details relative to Retreat experience on the Infinity ship would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sharon
  9. I went through identical process today with a rep. Dont know the problem but manager said can't split charges for wifi so perhaps that is new. Before purchasing gift card there is fine print that says the gift cards are valid for onboard credit or payment of cruise. Doesn't mention using cards for pre-cruise purchase of wifi (or beverage package, excursions, etc). So perhaps that is problem. I'm going to try it again Tuesday when the standard staff is in house and if that doesn't work I'll buy a $20 gift card to round out my purchase and if that doesn't work I give up!
  10. Do you remember if the credit card was initially charged the full amount of the wifi but then when it left pending in your credit card account it modified amount to be the difference that the gift cards did not cover? (In my case package costs $320, rep applied 3 $100 gift cards, it showed her $20 balance for which I gave her a visa. But in credit card account my visa pending indicates a $320 charge and the receipt she emailed me indicates $320 charged to my visa ending in...1234. No gift card payment indicated on receipt) Initially I thought perhaps a human has to actually apply the gift card amount to the charge to subtract their value and then when the visa charge drops from pending to actual charge, it would only be for $20. But my rep said she asked her manager and splitting charges is even not possible.
  11. Just spent 33 minutes online with a representative who said she had split payments previously with no problem. We entered gift card, then credit card info. Still charged me full amount on credit card so I think perhaps you are correct that HAL website having a problem since splitting worked for haljo1935. However, she inquired to a manager and he said they can NOT split payments. I'm going to buy a small gift card and see if I can get into work with just gift cards. Leaving for Asia for my cruise in a few days and I'll like to get this completed. Very frustrating.
  12. Who did you call? HAL reservations? Were you using AARP gift card of HAL gift card?
  13. Thanks but are you sure about that? From experience?
  14. Has anyone used a HAL gift card purchased through AARP towards purchasing wifi package on HAL website prior to the cruise (not onboard)? Yesterday I tried purchasing a multi wifi package for $319.99. I used 3 $100 each gift cards plus they asked for my credit card, I assumed for the $19.99 balance. The screen shows the deduction for $300 after entering the gift cards with a balance due of $19.99. However, HAL charged my credit card the FULL $319.99. The gift cards are still showing $100 value on each. I called HAL and they could not explain. HAL's credit card dept (which is independent of HAL and sells only gift cards purchased through them on behalf of HAL) said they could provide no info since I didn't purchase the gift card through them. AARP support closed until Tuesday. Anyone have direct experience?
  15. Very disappointed to hear that. My Rotterdam cruise in October did not have any classical music either. I was told it is/will be ship specific. I missed Lincoln Center State and this will likely be my last HAL cruise if they dont reinstate.
  16. Thanks for the thread. Sorry if I missed it but was there any/how was the classical music now that Lincoln Center is no longer onboard. Please elaborate what is currently offered. I will be embarking on Westerdam next month. Thanks in advance.
  17. Now that Lincoln Center Live is gone, what kind of classical music is onboard? I was recently on the Rotterdam and there was none. I was told it is ship-specific and I will be embarking Westerdam next month. Curious if I have something to look forward to...
  18. For those currently on Rotterdam,,, so far does the hype around fresh fish live up to it or does the fresh fish taste pretty much same as normal frozen fish?
