Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. 3 good days. I like the quote. I've never eaten falafel. Maybe on the drink and pass on the wine. I haven't been to Dubai. 2 good days in history. It's cold here, 31F, but sunny. Yesterday was very taxing for me in terms of pain. Plus the last appointment the PA was running almost an hour late. I was concerned that it would get dark, and I don't drive hardly at all after dark. But since it was just local and not highways, it wasn't too bad. I picked up the new med after that. So far no effect (I wasn't expecting any), and I'm very sleepy. I don't have to go anywhere, so I'll try to take a nap, if my leg allows. @rafinmd I hope your appointment goes well. @StLouisCruisers Very nice photos from Dubai. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like gingerbread cookies and cake, and looking at gingerbread houses, but have never mad one. I like ambrosia but haven't had any for a while, nor have I had a poinsettia for a number of years. Interesting quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Ravenna. Yay for Marconi! It will be a little warmer today, into the 40's. Same old 2.5 hours of sleep. I am so sleepy! Today I will pick up the Cymbalta that my PCP ordered; it's used to treat nerve pain, so maybe it'll help with sleep. My old ways of combatting the pain aren't working so well any more. I have 2 medical appointments this afternoon and hopefully will survive the walking involved. BFF asked about our Christmas plans. Usually he comes over and stays a few days. I don't want to not see him, but my house is a wreck (I can only work about 5 minutes at a time) and I don't know if I can manage the big traditional German dinner I usually go. He likely doesn't care, but I do. Will we end up eating Chinese on Christmas? @57redbird I hope you're feeling a bit better today. Take things slowly. @grapau27 Thanks for the explanations. @kazu Sorry about the damage, but at least it seems minor. I initially saw PMR, who referred me to pain medicine, where I had an epidural steroid injection around L4-L5. It helped a little the day after, but then nothing. The pain doctor is the one who is sending me to the neurosurgeon. Nothing additional for pain; I'm on Gabapentin (dose increase isn't doing anything). a muscle relaxant I occasionally take (doesn't do anything) and ibuprofen (I don't like to take it too much due to kidney effects). I will see the Neurosurgeon next Monday and hopefully will get a plan on how to proceed.

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. Apps can be useful, and I remove ones that aren't. The food drive for needy animals is important, as is Unicef Day for Change. Love the quote. Yes to the meal (although carb laden) and the wine. Pass on the drink. I haven't been to Portland. It's cool, cloudy and windy here, with the occasional rain shower. I slept about 2.5 hours and had some weird dream (I haven't been dreaming lately). I had an appointment with my PCP this AM; bad scheduling due to rush hour. I decided to try the rollator since I had to go from the parking garage to her office. It provided support, but the pain during that walk was 10/10! I caught her up on my situation, and she was appalled at my lack of sleep for months. She's ordered me something, but it may take weeks to have an effect. I haven't heard from my pharmacy yet. Then I went to PT, where I couldn't do much due to pain. Now I'm home trying to relax and get some relief. The PC wants to update; that's a no for now, since it's working. @57redbird Prayers that your procedure was successful and you are on the road to recovery. @Heartgrove I hope your appointments went well. @kazu Jacqui, your weather sounds awful! Animal Rights are so important; just on our local news were some abandoned, malnourished puppies that it's thought were bred to sell for Christmas and abandoned in a box on the street when they became ill. Genocide prevention should be every day. Not sure I understand the quote. Yes to the meal and wine, pass on the drink. I have been to Portugal, but not Madeira. 2 good days in history, particularly the computer demo. It's warm (59F) but cloudy. I think there was a rain shower earlier. I had to do computer battle again. The same issue of non-responsiveness occurred this morning. So I rolled back the update again (that I had added back once I got up and running yesterday) and now it works. I'm leaving that update off and will see what happens. I got better sleep last night, perhaps a combo of ibuprofen and Benadryl - about 4 hours. No specific plans today other than again trying to declutter the dining room. Success! Might not be due to me, but ... I realized at BB when they hooked up my PC they only plugged it in, but it was online. At home I use a cable from the modem, thinking it's more stable, but there is WiFi. So I unplugged everything including 2 usb printers, a usb hub, and the ethernet. Restarted, and voila, I was back in business! BFF thinks it was a Fios issue, as he did none of that, and his PC now works; his friends with Comcast had no issue. Anyway, I so appreciate my 27" screen with these old eyes. @sailingdutchy Great photos. Time for dinner, and a glass of wine (medicinal purposes 😉).

I may have been to Rhodes, but can’t get into my PC to check. it’s nice out, low 50’s and sunny. It’s not been a good day for me. The PC worked a few hours and then back to the same problem. I unplugged it overnight, but no help. I rolled back one update, still nothing. And strangely BFF has the same issue. And today my pain level is off the chart. I knew I was in trouble during the night, when sitting up in bed didn’t help. I could barely walk to the car to go to PT. I wanted to take a copy of my imaging results. I couldn’t do much there, mainly heat, then stretching and ice. I’m hoping sitting a bit will ease the pain, and I just took ibuprofen . Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'm not a cotton candy fan; it's all sugar. I'll salute Illinois and am a big fan of joy! Funny quote. I've never made Risotto, but recall Rachel Ray making it with wine. Pass on the drink, and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Kristiansand, and appreciate the photos. Remembering Pearl Harbor Day; it was very moving visiting the Arizona. Happy Hanukkah to those who are celebrating it. My PC is back! I had tried restarting (manual as the start menu didn't work). Couldn't boot into safe mode. Even unplugged it at BFF's suggestion, but only for about 15 minutes. I unplugged it this AM, cleaned the desk of dust, and took it to BB this afternoon. They plugged it in, and it worked right away! Go figure. Same thing happened to BFF about 2 months ago. At least it didn't cost anything, and next time I'll unplug for several hours. It's cloudy here and in the 40's. I haven't done anything all day other than mess with this. I think a glass of wine is in order this evening. I did schedule a day for donation pickup, only to make me do some sorting of clothes, as my leg allows. Less than 2 hours of sleep last night again. It's supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow; I may try to get the last leaves taken care of, although I have PT too. @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to your DSIL! Good morning. I haven’t read all the posts. My dark cloud overhead is still there. Now my PC is not working. There was a Windows update Tuesday. The computer was fine until last night. I noticed pages wouldn’t load and did a restart. Now the desktop loads, but nothing works. I can’t open documents or browsers or anything. I will be visiting the Geek Squad this afternoon. Sigh.
