  1. Great idea. I book all our stays under my number (and also include my husband’s name). For the complimentary wifi upgrade, I believe the reservation needs to be in the name of the guest with the Bonvoy status. We signing up for the internet access, all they ask is for your last name and room number, as I recall
  2. This is very interesting info to have. It’s been reported somewhere (Maybe on FB) that the premium teas at Al Bacio are no longer included in the Classic package. This flyer would conflict with that, except that it has the «subject to change» at any time disclaimer.
  3. A word of advice from experienced Celebrity cruisers is to always disregard whatever %age off they list as the sale. Just go by the actual price that you’ll be charged for the upgrade. They use « smoke and mirrors » pricing.
  4. Bonvoy (Marriott) offers complimentary upgrade to premium for not that high a loyalty level. I forget what tier it starts, but I am « only » Gold. That’s the level that comes included with AmEx Platinum. You may want to look into it. We also like the Residence Inn product. It feels homey to us Jane
  5. Elite plus — shopping around. One Ecllipse left on the books. Tried & loved Azamara; waiting for their pre-cruise experience to improve. Viking booked next.
  6. Looking forward to it. How embarrassing that should be for Celebrity management!
  7. This seems to vary by ship and sailing — at least it has in the recent past
  8. We cruise on Royal Caribbean when with our adult kids and grandkids. I’m sad to say that our May cruise on Liberty OTS will be our last for awhile. We never got a hot meal in the main dining room, service was several notches below what was typical for them and the menu selection was reduced. I do have to say that RC has the best shows of the cruiselines we have experienced. Jane PS we are Diamond + on RC and Elite + on Celebrity (earned separately), so I feel confident speaking about our experiences with them. Hoping our March sailing on Eclipse in a CS is improved over what has been recently reported. We prefer Solstice Class ships on Celebrity. Haven’t had a desire to try Edge class after Celebrity repositioned ships landing us back on Eclipse.
  9. Remember when the glasses at the Martini bar used to be HUGE?
  10. Be careful about assuming you will be able to stock up your SS fridge from the Retreat Lounge. That’s something that could change on a dime. Hopefully they would give you an unopened soda, water or beer to bring back to your suite. That hasn’t always been the case, at least for sodas. History I was just remembering back to a time where there were signs in the Suite lounge (Michael’s Club at the time) that it was forbidden to remove drinks from the lounge. I believe the last time I saw that enforced was on a 14 NT Summit Canada/NE sailing in the Fall of 2014. We were in a Royal Suite with Prem beverage package on that sailing, but they absurdly wouldn’t allow us to take unfinished drinks from MC into the show with us. The butler was also not allowed to keep our fridge stocked with included beverages. We had to empty it and fill it ourselves by bringing waters and sodas back to the suite. Shortly after that cruise, they still had the signs in the lounge but looked the other way when leaving with a beverage in hand. Our butler also starting stocking the suite fridge with sodas, water and even beers of our choosing. As I recall, this cruise was when they were just starting the push to phase in «Suite Class» I like to think my detailed survey comments helped them reconsider some of the non-sensical inboard suite upcharges.
  11. I just checked my cruise planner for our March Eclipse 12 night cruise. Below is what it shows for current prices of both Basic and Premium Stateroom Bar Set UPs. I didn’t see any stateroom set-up options under «Gifts & Gear» for my sailing. IN ADDITION to the listed price, there is a 20% «Service Charge» added when you check out (to serve yourself??!!) 1) Classic Stateroom Bar Set Up Full Sailing - 12 Days From $134.99 / per package $150.00 onboard (10% OFF) PRE-CRUISE SAVINGS Your favorite brands, like Dewar’s, Beefeater, Captain Morgan and more, can be enjoyed without even leaving your room, and our package includes Coca-Cola products, ginger ale, tonic water or juices for mixing. 2) Premium Stateroom Bar Set Up Full Sailing - 12 Days From $206.99 / per package $230.00 onboard (10% OFF) PRE-CRUISE SAVINGS Reserve This package includes one bottle from our sophisticated selection of brands, including Hendrick’s Gin, Bacardi 8 Rum, Teramana Reposado Tequila, Ketel One Vodka, Johnnie Walker Black and more, along with 6 mixers. Choose from a selection of Coca-Cola products, Ginger Ale, tonic water, a carafe of orange juice or cranberry juice. A bucket of ice is included.
  12. I agree. The «craft» offerings have become rarely available and lame. Our last 2 cruises we had adult coloring and one «origami» class that involved making an envelope out of a sheet of office paper. What a disappointment
  13. Color me skeptical that they could properly implement this, even if that’s their intent.
  14. I don’t really believe they pay part of the “butler’s” tip portion to room service people, but we’ll never know for sure. Anyway, they’ll eventually get around to editing that after 10/4 since Suite Grats will no longer automatically be prepaid. (Won’t hold my breath waiting for that correction.)
  15. Don’t wait until the last minute to do this. Fares often go up before new “promos” happen
  16. From a practical standpoint, it’s also annoying. We consider the room service delivery covered by the tips (& extra tips) we’ve traditionally given the butler. When not in a suite we always tip for each room service delivery. I really don’t want to stiff the room service staff, but we prefer not to be bothered having to keep small bills around for continual tipping.
