  1. I received daily until I answered this thread and none since then
  2. Sounds good to me. Some will love it and some won't but that is true for all.
  3. I hope, in some way, we get news and updates on progress and if any issues as they pass through. I hope all good news.
  4. Keep reading about old ships - I"d bet that if you told a bunch of cruisers that the Crystal ships were new a huge percent would think they are - after all the refits. Sure the crew and mechanics would know but would passengers. I guess people would stay at the Ritz or Waldorf because they are old. Sure I'd like new ships but not because I have a problem with the age of the current ships.
  5. They may have been working on alternates and the details. As bad as delaying notifications I think it would be worse if they said A and then a little later said - not A but B.
  6. Casper was the one on out St. Andrews trip - maybe the same cruise
  7. Years ago did a golf cruise on Crystal with a great pro on board -- we got to play golf at St. Andrews - not the old course but getting to play at St Andrews was a great although the local golfers didn't really appreciate us since we played too slowly for them.
  8. Thanks - glad you had a great experience. Remembering your names is one of the great skills the crew has
  9. Always been somewhat of a scary area to me Back in 1995, I think, we took a Crystal cruise that stopped in Egypt. From the moment we docked we were surrounded by armed guards - at the dock, buses to Cairo, boats on the Nile, etc. we had armed guards to protect us. Scary. Also, back then you couldn't stop in Israel before you went to Egypt. Not that it made much difference to us but was a fact of country politics back then.
  10. I will always remember that Trans-Atlantic from Hell as my only really bad Crystal cruise - if it were my first it would have been my last.
  11. Speaking of offloading, etc. Does anyone know if Crystal offloads all the various holiday decorations, costumes, etc - store them somewhere and then ship to a port before the holiday occurs again. I can't imagine the ships have room to store all that stuff on board
  12. Aren't we - as Cruise Critic members responsible for the names of the new ships. Maybe they can't continue until we come up with names.😅
  13. We can lend you a bunch today if you want - probably already 8" so far where I live in Maine.
  14. Any men wearing "sneakers" or sneaker bottom shoes with their suits as seems to be the fashion in some places.
  15. I hope we get plenty of reports from people on their trips - there seems to be few - except for Keith - especially nothing from Symphony
  16. Thank you for this great thread as well as the other places you two report. We have tended not to do Caribbean cruises lately since we have done them several times in the past and they tend to be non-luxury cruise ports, etc. You reminded us that Crystal is a destination in itself will always be a great experience no matter the destination. Looking forward to it. Thanks again
  17. From the millennium cruise (1999-2000) from Auckland to LA. We had 2 new years eve celebrations - one on each side of the date line. First was formal, second was Star Wars theme
  18. Received it also - find it interesting that they call it a Crystal trip even though it isn't on a Crystal ship but.....

    New York port

I remember - way back when LGA was domestic and JFK international.
  20. Keith - thanks for keeping me hungry. Do you know if they have Gluten Free menus or just items if you need/request gluten free. Thanks
  21. I can read them but the images that Keith posted later are better
  22. You express the Crystal spirit so well - it is the crew and how they treat us.
  23. On the technical side - I assume any new ship will have the plug in when docked ability so they don't have to run engines when docked. There are already ports that only allow plug in docking and I'm sure there will be many more.
  24. Miami and area are real tourist cities and so I've found plenty of transportation and all drivers seem to know about the port and where to go.
