  1. My friend say that he saw that room service are now being charged $12 per room service with the exception of your typical continental breakfast. I was wondering if anyone can confirm that this is true.
  2. I believe only on special nights as stated in your daily papers.
  3. When I called them yesterday about transfer , we were told that the countdown starts after you transfer the blank reservation number to an actual. And we couldn't do it because it has to take 48 hours after booking before you can do it. He also doesn't seem to know much as he was just reading it off some instruction book. Will update tomorrow to see if we can actually transfer
  4. We just got it in December. Also when transfering I was told it's not when you get your blank $100 FCC when you purchased it on the ship, the countdown starts after you turned the blank reservation to an actual reservation. Good idea though, I would just fill it up to $200 and put two names under the same form. First time doing it, didn't know better
  5. So you could only use 1 ($100) certificate towards the cruise and paid additional $100 deposit for the second name added for a non refundable cruise? And ended up the bonus credit from 1 certificate? She told us that deposit would be $100 that is from the certificate but will have to pay $450 for the second name added.
  6. After reading all the replies, I'm even more confused now. So when we buy these $100 FCC onboard, and if you are a couple traveling together, can they issue $100 x 2 under ONE name for future use? (I know they can do that if you're actually booking a cruise which we also did) I just assume the other FCC I bought could be joined to one reservation when we are ready to book, which clearly is not possible in my case before the supervisor intervened)
  7. Ours was resolved by supervisor and they made it sound like they were doing us a favor. The future cruise lady booked us 2 separate 100 each, with 2 individual reservation numbers. So by doing so, each one of us can only book a single cruise, or combine with a different name, but then you don't get the shipboard credit for the 2nd name added (and of course a higher deposit if you're booking non refundable. Supervisor added the 100 from one reservation onto the other reservation so ended up with one reservation with $200 deposit. So we can proceed. But she had to made it clear this was an exception and a one off. But while on the ship, the lady who sold us these 2 $100 future cruise credit actually also booked us for another cruise in 2024, us together under one cabin. Why on earth she then sold us these FCC and made 2 separate $100 each reservations is beyond me. Anyway, you're right. There's absolutely no proof beyond the paperwork they gave you. Did your TA figure out why they couldn't locate your names in the first place? Anyway, it was so complicated booking with Celebrity. Believe it or not, 2 hours 45 mins to book this, waited for over an hour for the supervisor and with their system erroring continuosly, it literally took almost 3 hours to make a reservation. I'm sure this is a one off, but anyway, all good now
  8. On the phone with Celebrity. We purchased 2 future cruise later certificates at $100 each while onboard Celebrity a few weeks ago. We tried to use them today on the phone, holding, she's saying because it was 2 individual $100 each with different numbers, she can only book each one of us onto separate reservations. ??? Is this true?? Why would future cruise lady onboard booked us separate certificates when we are cruising together? Suggestions? Help?!!
  9. Thanks everyone for giving your input. In the past we have always made our own arrangements for flights believing we are much better at getting good prices but only the last two cruises ago when we started looking at celebrity air that we were completely taken aback to find very good prices flying into Florida. I'm saying 70% off from what we could find from Skyscanner. This time around the price was about $100 usd more on celebrity air but I liked the idea where you can rebook if you find something cheaper later on. Also, them rerouting your flight in case of any problems is a bonus. Of course I do realise there's only so much they can do under the confines of the airlines in general. Anyway appreciate all your inputs.
  10. Thanks for all the info. Expedia for example, will not reschedule you if there's a cancellation will they? Our TD insurance expired or they cease existence and we never found any reasonable ones. So we always have our medical covered but taking a risk with the travel portion, although I think my credit card does cover up to a mere 2K per person for travel. Anyway, just wanted to confirm how good celebrity air was since I've heard good things about them but always from a friend of a friend of a friend. Also we liked the fact that you don't pay until final payment of the cruise, cancellable before the cruise. Someone wrote Celebrity has a long write up of their Celebrity Air, I may have missed. Will google it more carefully.
  11. Celebrity air first time question. I've heard that they will get you on a new flight to your destination if there's cancellations and delays. Is this actually true? Anyone experienced this? And do you need to buy travel insurance with Celebrity or anybody else in order for them to rebook you? What's the advantage of *risk free (and disadvantages of non *risk free flights). Please help. Thanks
  12. Thanks for the heads up. We normally just bring a carry on each so this will be fun lol. The cruise is 14 days and 9 days post cruise. Anyway, I think we'll get by
  13. Yes, elite plus here, been on many Celebrity cruises (pre-covid). And correct, we've used more than 1 bag to fill up 30 items and never had a problem. I can understand if they may have change the rules, but I'll try it and report back (sailing Nov 28). But I do find it totally bizzare that your butler wouldn't give you an extra bag to separate the items (wash vs dry clean). That itself would've eaten up even more room in that 1 bag. (I assume they're still using those white paper bags that can rip easy). I always carry a tape with me on our cruises. Anyway, like I said, been doing it for years as a pair of jeans would've filled up the entire bag.
  14. We normally use a few bags and use one coupon for them. In other words, you can use more than one bags as long as you don't exceed thirty items. We have done this many times with no problems.
  15. Just a little off topic here, can I just put money down for a booking while on board the ship without deciding what cruise to go? And when I find a cruise I want to go I will on, I will transfer it to an agent of my preference later on and still get the onboard credit? In other words, do I specifically have to pick a cruise? And do I absolutely need to include the agent record while I'm making a booking on the ship? Finally, if the new agent also offer amenities, can they be combined with the onboard credit I get from making a blank booking while on the ship?
  16. Ah that's too bad. We set sail Nov 28, doubt if they will make any new changes. I was hoping for a comfy bed though.
  17. Happy to hear the beds are new. Can anyone confirm the furnitures in the room? I meant the sofa. Are they brand new as well?
  18. Our ship goes from fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean islands and ending in Rio sometime and of November I think
  19. Basically, the honor system, that they are assuming you're not going to take a negative test 3 months before that and take a photograph of that or bring that test with you?
  20. First time going back on a cruise since COVID started. I am having trouble trying to figure out what type of pre -embarkation COVID test I require. We are all fully vaccinated and boosted. But I understand that you still need to get a negative COVID test prior to embarkation. But the COVID test that they recommend sounds a little strange. Here is the write-up from their website as an attachment. Our cruise is 14 nights long. Does that mean I can actually go out and buy myself a test kit or use one of those free ones available in Canada and do it myself and then simply take a photograph? Sounds a little strange but what do I know. Can anyone who have sailed recently please confirm. Thank you.
  21. We are arriving at the port of Rio de Janeiro as our last day of the cruise. We are taking celebrity Infinity and will be arriving on December 12th. We were wondering if anybody here have any experience disembarking in Rio who can tell us what time they get off the ship. We are not sure what time to tell our driver to pick us up on that day. Thank you everyone
  22. OK I'll give that a shot tomorrow, hopefully with the TA, instead of fussing with it online. Thanks.
