  1. Free shuttle: Civitavecchia (for Rome)...Free shuttle to Civitavecchia Just wondering if that means Oceania provide free shuttles from Rome to Civitavecchia? I doubt it but just checking. On other cruises, there are buses that take passengers past the industry port to where the cruise ship docks and back. We are boarding in Civitavecchia, do we do the check in after the bus ride to where the ship is docked or before we board the bus in Civitavecchia? Thanks.

  4. We made our 4 reservations that was given to us a few weeks ago. There was twice when a better time came up (private table) we were able to book them (Basically select the new time, a pop up message saying we have booked 4, and that this new selection will override our previous booking, select Yes). Recently there were 2 occasions (not on weekends) they came up again with better times but we were not able to book them. So, we select the new time and date we wanted for an existing reservation. Then a message reads "You've reached your limit for this time segment, would you like to replace your existing reservation with this one?" Select YES and this message shows up "Invited Guests will be over limit for restaurant during cruise". And can't do anything but to close reservation without booking (the new one). Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Tried it with my cell phone (android) and laptop, both showing the same progression. Also, is there a number with Oceania I can use to call them? I looked at their website and they're all international numbers, and the only US/Canada number available is for Air Travel. Thanks.
  5. I was told that we can bring as much wine and spirits on to the ship despite the rules of 6 bottles per cabin. May I inquire, if I can bring a bottle of scotch or other spirits on the second day or other port days besides the first embarkation day due to the fact that I can probably get the selection I want in Naples (a port day) compared to Chivitavecchia where we do our embarkation. Please advise. Thank you
  6. Yes. We always try to bring wine that we like to the ship regardless of having a drink package or not. So because there is 2 liquor store near the port (one literally around the corner as you climb the incline -youll know what I'm talking about when you see the port). Don't bring more than you're allowed. They are very strict as I mentioned before. They will not allow you to bring more than allowed. They did have a table to collect them when japan security passed you to the booze collection table (run by Celebrity). From my last experience, after passing the security the first round, they didn't say anything but somehow know how many brough from x-ray. I say to myself, that was easy, so I went out and bought 4 bottles. I played the speak no Japanese card, sent us to the table. Thankfully I whisper to the barman to "help me out buddy". Security still looking but as soon as he turn his face , barman let me go with my 4 bottles. From then onwards, we came out again after the first round of booze then do one extra round obeying limit. And all was well.
  7. We done this a few times. The port opens around 12-ish and you can check in. We like to check in early and then go out of the ship and explore and come back before the ship leaves. Beware if you tend to bring wine back on the ship. The security is extremely tight. Just follow the allowance and you'll be fine. Some good wine stores around.
  8. I would take whatever told by celebrity agents with a grain of salt. They meant well and will tell you, but I suspect they're telling you based on their experience, not necessarily from a script.
  9. When you book air from celebrity, you get to pick different options (more become available as cruise are closer , a few months off). Options include cancel anytime before 90 days cruising OR NOT, etc. Then depending on what category class of the flight you pick, you generally can select seats, but all depends. Just pretend celebrity air as any other air company.

When we were in one of the royal suites on millennium, we have tried to order a croquembouche with a minimum height of 3 feet which they denied (it was asked as a joke), but they did honor our beef rendang an Indonesian dish that came with all the sides, yellow rice, pickled vegetables. Chef at Luminae at that time was from Indonesia. I suggest find out where chef is from first and then deciding. It was as authentic as they could get it, given lack of certain ingredients. It was fun. He also came out and wanted to know if we liked it.

  13. Hi all, I am aware that the EDGE Class has 4 complimentary dining rooms for dinner and no main dining room. We are 2 cabins (2 couples) and both assigned 6PM dining. I assume that is the EARLY dining because that's what we asked our TA for. I tried to see if we could select different restaurants for different nights and it seems that I can't proceed beyond ADD TO CART as that's been greyed out. I also assume our dining is linked because when I tried I tried 4 of the restaurants and they're all showing the same thing. See photo attached. Do we get assigned the dining room when we board? Can we pick different restaurants for each night? We also have another sailing in NOV this year on APEX as well, and we had no problem booking ANYTIME dining in all the restaurants.
  14. We sailed 3 celebrity cruises since Nov. 2022 post pandemic. Food has been OK except for our Blu, except Buffet is so overly salted, it's inedible. Im not one who mind salt at all ,but the salt in some of their soups (dinner) and Indian lunch buffet is really inedible. The daal, one of my favorite, and I go for Indian food a lot, was so salty when hot. When it cooled it's like Utah's salt lake.
  15. Diamond plus translates to Elite in Celebrity. Only Elite plus and above gets the free specialty coffee (Cafe Bacio deck 5 midship). Elite breakfast daily (maybe except last day). You can get champagne, bloody Mary or that oj and vodka forgot the name. We sometimes just ask for vodka and ice no problem. You can HH 5-7pm except first day, that is correct, just the way its always is. If you gamble, free drinks as well, tips encouraged.
  16. Precovid, anytime, before or after final payment, our TA was able to upgrade. We will never get any refund but always the possibility to upgrade
  17. Other than internet, both ships are in good condition. Food are alright for both cruises. Staff, really all depends on your encounters.
  18. If wifi if of concern, book constellation. We sailed infinity dec 2022 (south America) and connie march 2023 (Carribean and central America). Wifi on infinity was unusable, completely down for 2 days and dropping every 2-10 mins when it's working. More time spent trying to connect than actual using. Apply to both streaming and basic. Forget steaming was the answer when we tried to upgrade from the internet department. Constellation worked beautifully, no drop on the 11 day cruise, pretty decent speed on basic internet. We use our free streaming minutes on phone calls, all good.
  19. I thought I throw in my 2 cents on Blu. Celebrity Solstice, April 8, Mexican Riviera. We have 21 cruises with Celebrity and have done main dining and Luminae and never Blu. So it was our first time. The good: Always seated quickly, some times windows some not, no matter. Friendly matri-d. Beautiful restaurant, tables turned over quickly. The bad: Under staff is the main problem. No enough waiters. And because of that, their hearing also seemed impaired and orders where coming out wrong, bread with no butter, water not refilled, and after repeatedly requesting for these minor inconveniences, never came. No dedicated waiter, doesn't matter, but we felt judged. Service is extremely biased. Harsh, unbelievable, but unfortunately true. Same with restaurant manager. Ok, and I'm not making this up - Twice I was reprimanded by the waiter after asking for my butter for bread because they never arrive even after we started the main. First time I swallowed my response but when it happened again, I responded back in his same tone and he backed off some. Restaurant manager got involved and problem resolved and we never sat at that waiters table again. I would say this was the first time we complained about the restaurant on Celebrity. Food: 2 days were excellent. Great lamb chops. Cooked the way I liked it. The rest of the days, was mediocre. The menu itself sounds really really good but what was translated on the plate is NOTHING like how the menu described it. Especially true for the appetizers. I've always salivated reading the Blu menu before we tried it. I won't anymore. And this has nothing to do with the dreadful service. Breakfast, while is nice to have breakfast in Aqua, I didn't see much difference from the main dining. In fact main dining was way much quicker. We both agreed that we would actually think twice even if it was a free upgrade to Aqua moving forward. The spa, sure it was ok, ended up going once. Not a big deal. Bottle waters and champagne was a nice touch.
  20. We are booked on several cruises with classic drink package. We are both Elite plus. When is the best time to do an upgrade? Before or during the cruise? Does our Elite plus discount combinable with any sale they may be offering ? I've heard of stories where people get upgraded while on the cruise for $15 a day.
  21. We are in the same boat. Obtained the visa before covid, and canceled our land trip. HOWEVER, I cannot confirm this, but China has since cancelled all active visas and if we were to go there again, the current stamp in our passports are no longer valid, so has to reapply. This is just according to my friend who travels a lot to China. I would definitely confirm this before attempting to go there again.
