  1. Sorry to hear George, hope its mild though it sounds quite bad. My second bout in August I still have a cough, on antibiotics at mo to try and clear it up but no luck so far
  2. Happened to us in Egypt. We were very careful but still got 'the trots' think it was ice from the ice machine in hotel
  3. Oh wow Mark, what am awfully worrying time for all the family. I'm so glad for you all that you've had a fast and positive outcome.
  4. We use cul-de-sac too, as a noun, such as 'that road is a cul-de-sac'. Close is part of the road name. So King Close, instead of King Road
  5. Post pics Graham, love snow. Hubby loves it too but he spent his formative youth in Winnipeg in the 60s and 70s so he's use to having to dig his way out of his front door
  6. No snow here in the South Graham, just frost. Loved seeing all the frosted webs in the woods yesterday, so beautiful. Today is a little warmer but rainy 🌧. I prefer cold and frosty/snowy over cold and rainy. Going to get the Christmas lights down today to check they're still working and start decorating. Will get our tree on Wednesday
  7. Thanks for doing the report, and Happy 20th anniversary ❤️ We were on Symphony at the beginning of the European season. Was October a pleasant month to travel ? Not too hot not too chilly?
  8. We use to live in a Close when we lived in Sussex. The road we're in now is also a close but not called that . Great for kids to playing in the street as only people who live in our road (or visiting) would come down it.
  9. Thank you, yes came home late Wednesday. Normally he has nursery Thursday and Friday but we baby sat yesterday at his house. He was full of beans, though still no appetite. Today he went back to nursery
  10. As someone who worked for large international airlines for over 40 years and had to deal with denied boarding at the sharp end, this is not true at least not for large international airlines. Anyone on a free mileage ticket is a valued frequent flyer. Why would they upset their most valued customers. Nonrevs are staff, and even they get looked after if they are confirmed and away from their base station. We would offer a sweet deal to pax who would still make their onward connections if they travelled on the next flight. We always got volunteers
  11. He's happily playing in the children's ward playroom. Still breathing heavily and obviously still full of cold but they're hoping the Dr's say he can go home tonight, depends how the day goes. 🤞
  12. Yesterday was our weekly babysitting day with our 2yr 8mth grandson. He has a cold and cough but initially looked pretty much OK as just had his baby medicine and inhaler. But we decided to miss out on our normal music class and play ground visit due to the cold. But we did feed the ducks, probably a mistake as he was running around for a few minutes in the cold air. Things went downhill as the day progressed and it ended up in A@E and overnight stay in hospital as his wheezing had started again and the Dr's need to monitor his oxygen when he is sleeping.
  13. In my opinion that's rubbish and a huge generalisation. My next guarantee cruise I've bought ship tours for each port and specialised dinner reservations already. Always prepay gratuities and tip on top. I guess I just assumed that guarantee meant guarantee, not maybe you'll get a cabin, maybe you won't .
  14. Jimbo, we're going to enjoy a holiday in Singapore for a few days first. Will be annoyed, but it's not the be end and end all if the worst happens. We'll still have a good time enjoying a fascinating city. Maybe spend the cruise time exploring Thailand or Malaysia instead
  15. Mmmm, when is a Guarentee not a Guarentee ..... We've got a cruise ex Singapore in a few months with a guarentee. Won't be too happy if we fly half way round the world to get bumped at the port
  16. It's 16 nights, but almost full. The price was considerably less when the mini segments were first released
  17. Agree BCN to SOU on Serenade has very little left, only guarantees for inside and OV and 12 balconies left. At least that's all they are showing on their website.
  18. Have you ever taken P@Os Barbados winter cruises ? Several friends have taken Saga cruises which they all rave about. They are very expensive but everything seems to be included, including chauffeur transfers from home to port
  19. 16 nights, so £337 pppn, standard balcony. BCN to SOU segment, there's some nice ports not normally available in their standard med cruise. There's only a handful of balconies left now, hence the high cost. We were on her for 12 nights last autumn so we know what we're in for. On Med cruises it's all about the ports. Think there's only three sea days. It was a LOT cheaper when we booked
