  1. Navigator 611 Reviewed by: Go9ersjrh Mo/Year: 8/22 Starboard MidShip Both a tub and a shower No noise issues Recommend: Yes Location is excellent for the coffee connection, elevators, Compass Rose and getting on and off the ship. I would be happy to sail in this cabin again.
  2. Negative Covid test in hand. Our transatlantic cruise is a go. We'll see you in Barcelona on Wednesday.
  3. Good to know at the Euros. We'll make sure to hit an atm in Barcelona and then get change at the hotel before we get on the ship on Wednesday. Now to get back to packing. Still have to get the COVID test this afternoon.
  4. We are staying at the Hotel Sofia Barcelona on Tuesday. It's a Hyatt. We booked it through Regent.
  5. Check to see what ships are in port on the day you disembark. If the megaships are in port, it can be more difficult to get a taxi. We ended up taking the shuttle bus provided by the pier to get close to our hotel a couple of years back.
  6. Cindivan - We are taking our first RSSC cruise next week. I too have always planned independent shore excursions and share your same concern. We booked this trip in May and were considering 3 different cruise lines - RSSC, Azamara and Oceania. In the end, the RSSC was the best value and we have friends that are loyal RSSC cruisers that have been trying to get us on Regent for years. The quality of the shore excursions will have an impact on how we evaluate taking another Regent cruise. We have cruised on Oceania before and really enjoyed it. I'll let you know what I think when we return home in September. To be honest, I have missed researching independent shore excursions that do exactly what we want to do in small groups of 6 - 12 people.
  7. We'll be joining the Navigator in Barcelona for the journey back to New York. Looking forward to hearing about your trip to Barcelona.
  8. Not completely - we are in Cabin 517 for our upcoming Transatlantic on the Navigator. The cabin does not have a number on the deck plan on the website.
  9. Our flight to Barcelona in 2 weeks is on Delta. LAX to ATL then on to BCN. This is the route that Regent booked - no air deviation.
  10. Gilly - Nice to hear. We will be joining the Navigator in Barcelona on August 24.
  11. We had access to our Delta outbounds flight when booked, but did not get access to our American return flight until 30 days out. This is for our cruise at the end of August.
  12. Update - We are now flying in a day early. TA spent 2 hours on hold today and finally got our flights changed. When I called and talked to a Regent agent, they told me that I would have to pay an air deviation fee on top of the cost for a night in a hotel that we had booked through Regent. That would have cost us $1200 for an extra night at a $250 a night hotel plus one extra transfer. I just couldn't justify it. TA told me Regent agent was incorrect and that the change in air (we didn't request specific flights) was included with the hotel night. In the end, we have the same flights LAX - ATL then ATL to Barcelona. It really shouldn't be this hard. We are 5 weeks out from the start of the trip.
  13. No upcharge - no air deviation fee. We let them book our flights with no input. I am going to check on an earlier flight to ATL out of LAX. We'll just go to the airport early and see if they can put us on.
  14. I completely understand all the advice and in a different situation would be flying in early. When everthing was orginally booked we were more concerned about having a negative covid test before we left home than having flight problems. Changing the booking has become problematic and in the end not worth it. We are flying Delta from LAX to ATL and then to Barcelona. I have a list of Delta Flights that will get us to Barcelona in time if we miss our flight. We will have several days of clothing in our carry on bags. If we miss the ship, we will enjoy Spain as Regent helps us figure out how to get on it in Cadiz. I and our TA didn't realize that adding a hotel night through Regent didn't include changing our flghts. In the end that extra night was going to cost us a significant amount of money. But now I know - this was a somewhat last minute booking for a Regent newbie.
  15. OK - issue resolved. We are canceling the extra night in the hotel and keeping our original flights.
  16. Thank you - I will try that once I get to 30 days.
  17. We did not book this trip until May. The flights they selected for us arriving the day of embarkation were fine. I knew there were limited choices. The problem is that the flights have not been updated to account for the night in a hotel prior to boarding the ship. I knew that Regent was having a problem with their air department. I just didn't expect it to be this bad. They have had 3 business weeks since I made the change and I leave in 5 weeks.
  18. I added a night in a hotel on June 27 for our August 24 cruise this year out of Barcelona. We already had our flights for arriving the day of embarkation. Given all the air travel issues, I decided to go in a day early. After almost 3 weeks, I do not have an updated flight schedule. The portal shows that I am staying in a hotel the night before boarding the ship, but I'm not flying in until the next day. This is our first Regent cruise. They really need to figure out their air scheduling. I gave them 2 weeks before I contacted our TA. I'm hoping that I get revised flights soon. It's only a week until we are 30 days out.
  19. We are on the Navigator starting August 24 of this year. We let Regent do our air from Los Angeles to Barcelona. The flights were fine, but I started to get concerned since we were flying in the morning the ship was departing. As a result, over two weeks ago, I booked a night in a hotel the day before through Regent. At this point, our flights have not been revised. I contacted our TA and Regent has responded to her. I'm thinking I should have new flights by now.
  20. Have you considered buying an inexpensive wheelchair from Amazon and having it delivered to your hotel? You can get one for under $200 and then donate it in Barbados. Years ago I did something similar with baby items - high chair and portable crib. It was much less expensive to buy and then give away when we were in Hawaii then to rent them.
  21. The pre-embarkation testing rules changed what we normally do pre-cruise. Instead of going a few days early, we are flying in the day of embarkation. I want a negative covid test in hand before we leave the USA. I didn't want to get to Europe then test, find out I'm positive, not get on the ship and be stuck. Unfortunately everything I've read it doesn't sound like the requirement is changing anytime soon.
  22. Based on the flights I received yesterday, I believe your return flight home will be business(over the Atlantic) / 1st class (domestic). I had the same question and decided to see what Regent would give us. I'm very happy with our flights - 1st class to ATL from LAX then Business to Barcelona. Our return flight from New York is economy which is what I expected. The bonus is that the airline for the domestic flight is one that I have status on. Overall a win for letting Regent do our air.
  23. We are doing the opposite flight in August. LAX - BCN for a TA. We got our flights yesterday and are flying 1st class LAX - ATL and then business class ATL - BCN. I had the same question as you since there are no direct flights to or from BCN and the west coast.
  24. We are debarking the ship in New York. We will be checking our own bags to LAX at the airport. I figure I'll either try to change the ticket early or when we get to the airport ask to be put on the next flight to LAX. There are lots of American flight to LAX before the 5 pm one we are scheduled for.
  25. Since I have status on American, I'll probably look to move my flight to earlier in the day once the flight is ticketed or it will be an afternoon at the Admirals Club. I did look and there are plenty of flights to LAX from JFK.
