Was that the PAYG pass? Were food and drinks extra?
  2. I haven’t done it so can’t comment directly but since you have no comments, I think you are right and it is held at Dolphinaris on the edge of town. It sees to get good reviews. I think the Chef is Chef Luis who was the popular chef at Playa Mia cooking class although i have also seen a Chef Antonio in reviews.
  3. Perhaps it is the Fury website? Could you book other dates if you tried? Could you phone? I see that date available on other third party sites but I don’t have any experience booking through them.
  4. Did you have DBP? I think it is probably more a matter of communicating what you want and expect rather than cash incentive. Some people are satisfied with one glass, others want/expect refills but unless you express this the waiter isn’t going to know.
  5. That’s certainly another possibility - in which case I think you would need to play “tag” with a second glass. My experience of receiving drinks in the MDR has not been particularly swift. I like to drink my wine with my food. I wouldn’t want It to arrive after I had finished.
  6. I am waiting for updates on Rhapsody which is due to complete TA and homeport in Haifa. Its homeport has already been changed once.
  7. I am not keen on giving You tube links and you are welcome to google for yourself, but this one is quite a comprehensive review and recent review which might be useful if this is your first time
  8. If you want that many glasses of wine you would be better off buying a bottle UNLESS, you are only using vouchers or you want a different type of wine with each course. If you want a new glass there will inevitably be a delay. I like mine refilled while I still have food in front of me.
  9. With kids that age I would stay in the port and enjoy the activities there - pool, aviary, watch flamingos, dolphins, traditional pole flyers and dancers. You can grab a drink or snack and return to the ship for main meals. In the summer it is highly likely that the beaches could have sargassum. Cozumel has far more activities for that age - playa Mia, Chankanaab, day pass to resort hotel - Allegro, El Cozumeleno, which have kids clubs
  10. If you use Google maps, you can go to “street view” and Nacional beach club. You can do a 360° and see the hotel, an open road (malecon) and the beach in front. I agree it looks nice! Taxi will be $4pp each way. Lets us know how it goes if you book.
  11. Lol! Sorry, the Malecon was the pedestrian-way built by the Mexican government in the town of Mahahual (just outside Costs Maya) after the hurricane several years ago. It is the main route through town with hotels, bars, businesses on one side of road and beach and loungers on the other. TA is TripAdvisor it will have reviews from people staying in town, not day visitors.
  12. Thanks for your review. I was hoping you were going to review Blue Reef since we haven’t been there. It seems popular but hasn’t appealed to us when we have passed. FYI, if you return, Malecon21 has been one of our favorites although we were disappointed in service on our last visit. I am not sure we like the same type of places but just wanted to let you know Malecon has different packages, minimum is $30 pp towards food and drink but that us only if you require a lounger. You can sit at the tables and PAYG. It might have saved you the long walk to Blue Kay. Sorry Blue Kay has changed so much - I know you were excited when you first found it but I had heard it had gone downhill. Prices seemed high? It is no secret I am very disappointed in Costa Maya since cruising resumed. I have a very uneasy feeling about business ethics there at the moment. It has been 9 months since we were there but I was very confused about your taxi photos - I couldn’t recognize the pick-up or drop-off location from your photos. Are they not picking up AND dropping off within the port gates any more?
  13. I have seen old reviews if you use the search feature but not since cruising resumed. You will probably find more on TA it isn’t generally a cruiser “hangout” probably because of the price and because it is just in the middle of the malecon with everywhere else. It is one of the few locations with a small pool.
  14. The prices are definitely going up and there may be seasonal variations. If you booked with current website format each time you add a guest it adds $17.
  15. The access fee is included (and increases total when you select number of people) when you book. Have you pre-paid total?
  16. Prices also rise significantly over 70, 80, 90. That was the problem we had finding policies.
  17. I can understand medical evacuation limits varying between policies but surprised it would be an optional add-on for cruises specifically. This makes more sense and is what I would expect.
  18. When did they start charging extra for cruise vacations? This wasn’t a factor 10 years ago when I was shopping for insurance for our parents.
  19. Ok i answered on your other thread about glass bottom kayaks. Allegro and Occidental had kayaks. I don’t think Park Royal or El Cid do. I don’t know about others but the hotel websites will tell you or the broker sites that sell hotel day passes.
  20. Do you mean a glass bottom kayak that she powers herself or an organized tour? Do you mean a hotel resort?
  21. Doesn’t Infinity do a day pass with PAYG or AI? is the AI really AI, I thought had read it was limited food menu and PAYG was better? I think you can also book transport direct with them as well.
  22. NP, whilst I know both locations I haven’t been to either so can’t help further than generalizations. You can report your post for mods to change title to make it less confusing.
  23. Do you mean Hayhu? Or another beach club? If Hayhu, they are very different areas and prices. One is out of town and one is on the malecon. It depends on your expectations and how far you want to travel. The biggest problem at this time of year will be sargassum, which could be present at either.
  24. Allure will dock at Coxen Hole. I have never been to Infinity as I find West Bay rather busy. West Bay has a good reputation if snorkeling is your prime goal and Infinity has remained popular over the years and has a nice looking pool. I may be mistaken but I seem to recall people thought the PAYG option was better value but you would have to do more checking of old reviews to verify that.
