Hi Zig Did you end up getting the status match? I sent off my venetian society proof at the beginning of October and still haven’t heard anything, so I’ve sent it off again today. I’m sailing on Ponant in 10 days so it would be nice if I could get it for that trip. I’m wondering though whether it’s available to Aussies. Cheers Jennifer

My SS rep asked me if I wanted a few extra days before embarking, I said no and then they booked me Singapore Airlines with a 1 hour connection in SIN. I said no way can I do a 1 hour connection in SIN so they changed it to another flight and I now have a 4 hour connection in SIN. I'm much happier about that! Flights are in my SQ app and all they need now is to be ticketed after I pay the remainder of the trip. Crossing my fingers that it all goes to plan. Cheers Jennifer

Hi, it's confusing isn't it. CFP is the name of the currency, XPF is it's 3 letter code when referring to currencies. I've also looked on the Australia Post website along with some others with no luck. Someone has told me about https://foreignxchange.com.au/ - you might like to have a look there. I'm going to order some for my November cruise. The rate of exchange isn't good but it's handy to have a little bit just in case. Cheers ging466

Hi I've got a lot of time to kill whilst in Papeete so was thinking that I'd walk from the Hilton Tahiti to the port (no heavy luggage). I've looked on the map and it doesn't look very far but is it doable? Decent footpath? Will I be able to find the ship easily? Also thinking about walking from Hilton back to the airport - same deal, decent footpath? Pls don't tell me to catch a taxi - I'll be doing that for when I arrive in the middle of the night. I just want to know if I'm being realistic since I'm a lousy map reader🤣 Thanks for any advice. Cheers ging466

Just read your travelogue of the cruise which was great. I really like your 'warts and all' review of your trip. I felt it was balanced, good with the not so good. Sorry you were underwhelmed though. Silversea is my go to cruiseline but I'm not a cheer leader. Every cruise I've been on is different, some excellent, a couple not so good. Do you think you will give them another go or are you back with Regent? Cheers Jennifer

Hi Karin, I know exactly what you mean but this is what we get in Australia. When the exchange rate was good (a dim dark memory!) I used to book with a US agent and get a % back that I could use as an OBC (always considerable). Can't do that anymore. If I use a TA here, they offer me a US$50 OBC and they think it's generous! so I just continue to book with SS, but I always push for an OBC and usually get it. I'd also be interested to hear from other Aussies and how they book and whether they get anything extra. Cheers Jennifer

I'm booked on the above cruise and wondering whether anyone "in the know" would know whether Ponant might change this itinerary to an embarkation somewhere else due to the political unrest/COVID in the Solomon Islands. The Solomon Islands is currently closed to only citizens and there are very limited international flights. Really hoping that this itinerary doesn't get cancelled again. Cheers ging466
