  1. It is a nice itinerary or rather, it was a nice itinerary. I am not sure why you say it was only offered during the fall and spring shoulder seasons. Celebrity consistently had these sailings during the months of Jan and Feb for many years.
  2. I am so sorry to read that this happened to you and know how upsetting this must be. I think the idea of trying to put together a land tour yourself is a good one although it will take some work to get it done. Understandably you have decided to cancel the whole thing including the cruise. Beyond a cash refund, Celebrity may offer you nothing else other than their apologies if you outright cancel your cruise versus allowing yourself to be accommodated to another sailing. For that reason, I would be happy if they offered me the same $300pp for airline issues, $400 OBC, and 50% off cruise fare for an Alaskan cruise next year. If you go this way, you may want to price out a 2024 Alaskan cruise-tour to see how much prices have gone up to determine if this compensation would be good for you. If the prices have gone up substantially (and you are interested in doing this in 2024), you may ask to have your booking transferred to a 2024 cruise-tour but with the pricing that you have for your 2023 cruise-tour (aka price protection). If you choose a more popular month in 2024 to do your cruise-tour, realize that the 2024 cruise-tour price may have increased just due to that. You can still negotiate for the same May 2023 price though. Again, I am sorry for your disappointment.
  3. I know that this doesn't directly answer your question but it offers a solution to your problem: I would seriously consider taking a private tour that combines Monaco, Eze, and Nice. If you can get others on your roll call to join you, it will reduce your cost burden. We did exactly that during our Med cruise when Infinity anchored in Villefranche in 2007. It was one of the highlights of the cruise. Saint Paul de Vence
  4. Yes, the hallway is private and dedicated to the corner FV. It is secure as it is behind the locked stateroom door that faces the public hallway..It is great for providing storage. The corner FVs on Millennium, Infinity, and Summit have a doorbell because you cannot hear anyone knock. For some reason they did not put in on Constellation.
  5. We've been in 8166 on Constellation, Summit, and Infinity (twice). It is an excellent cabin with a balcony that is perfect for Alaska. You will be very very happy with it and you will not regret spending the money. For the same reason, I have 8166 on Summit booked for next year's Panama Canal cruise. Enjoy.
  6. The last time Celebrity offered a 14 night Caribbean cruise that started and ended on Sunday was Apr 1, 2018 (no fooling). That was on Eclipse out of Miami. 2017/2018 season was the last real season that Celebrity offered this itinerary (9 sailings all starting on Sunday).. The last time Celebrity had a 14 night Caribbean sailing was Jan 4 2019 Reflection out of Ft Lauderdale. There were only two 14 night sailings offered for the 2018/2019 season as Celebrity had phased them out. My family and I were on that last Reflection cruise. And, as you well know, Celebrity put together a 14 night Caribbean sailing on Silhouette for Jan 31, 2020. This was the last time Celebrity offered this itinerary. It was created after the 2019/2020 Caribbean sailings were released because of a change in Silhouette's dry dock schedule at Grand Bahama shipyard. You and I (and other 14 night fans) were all set to go on it when the cruise was suddenly and sadly cancelled because of the Grand Bahama shipyard accident. I am still in therapy for it while you choose to express your disappointment in the pools. Here is the nearly complete 14 night Caribbean cruise history.
  7. During the last four seasons when Celebrity offered the 14 night Exotic Southern Caribbean sailings (all on Eclipse), they started and ended on Sunday which meant I could take just two weeks vacation and still be able to fly in on the day before the cruise.
  8. The forward OV cabins have a view of the ship's helicopter pad, bow, and the scenery in front of the ship. We have had the FV cabins right next to them and when I have glanced inside the OV cabins, they seem very large. Here is the view through our Deck 8 forward (and slanted) cabin window on Solstice to give you an idea of what your view may look like: Solstice gliding towards Akaroa, New Zealand, December 29, 2019
  9. Night 2 (sea day) and Night 7 (sea day) are most certainly your Evening Chic nights.
  10. My only experience is that I’ve seen Celebrity add tours by expanding it to different days on the cruise. It's pretty much a 100% profit activity for them
  11. Yes, shorex planning came immediately to mind when I saw the itinerary mismatches.
  12. The Port of St Lucia website shows Equinox docking on Apr 28 which is consistent with Celebrity's published itinerary. https://www.slaspa.com/media/attachments/2022/11/29/cruise-schedule-saint-lucia-2022-2023-updated-10-nov-20221.pdf The pdf file appears to be dated Nov 2022 so its accuracy depends on how well it is kept up to date.
  13. As far as the Evening Chic nights go, typically for an 8 night cruise they will fall on Night #2 and #7. If you could post your sailing itinerary, we can advise you better.
  14. Yes to the newsletter.
  15. We sailed on Constellation in Oct/Nov last year. We found her to be in excellent shape.
  16. It is supposed to be a free link. Here it is again, if it doesn't work, I am sorry. https://www.wsj.com/articles/uber-ceo-started-driving-for-uber-5bef5023?st=t2jx08jqdmgeb1s&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
  17. I just talked to my wife and daughter and the verdict is that the tumblers are definitely too thick to use as drinking glasses. Form over function problem. One is being used to hold things (kitchen utensils or something like that). The other one is being used in a purely ornamental capacity.
  18. An interesting article in today's Wall Street Journal website about Uber (and a little about Lyft): What Happened When Uber's CEO Started Driving for Uber
  19. I am simply nosey and curious. I was guessing that you did pretty well.
  20. Thank you. I believe my wife and daughter made and use the tumblers. I'll ask them for their opinion.
  21. We are on a ski trip at Lake Tahoe this weekend. When I get back, I'll take the measurements and post them. Ideally you would get measurements from others that also made the wavy bowl because there's going to be some variation with these custom handmade pieces.
  22. Approximately how many bottle have you scored?
