  1. The only work around I know of is using the rule that you can change names on a booking and keep your pricing/perks if at least one of the names on the original booking remains. So you can have the other couple book two cabins, one in each other's name. But then the names have to remain split up and I suppose sorted out after you get on board with Guest Relations. Or you would have to swap keys (or partners!). Depending on your point of view, it may not be worth the trouble.
  2. Flying in the day before is a smart decision. Whether you fly into LAX or LGB take a taxi, Uber, or shuttle down to a hotel near the pier where there are plenty to choose from. Your next day to board the ship should be pretty easy.
  3. Welcome to Cruise Critic, Cheshire! Although this may be your first post on the Cruise Critic bulletin board, I don't know if this is your first Celebrity cruise. When the specialty restaurants were first rolled out (Millennium), the upcharge was only $25 (and represented the tip) and the pricing has gradually been moving upward. The specialty restaurants are quite popular and with the crew shortage situation, I anticipate that you will not find a lot of discounting going on during the sailing. You are aware of the discount that you can get by purchasing a dining package. The disadvantage with it is that you cannot select your dining times when you buy the package. You have to wait until you get on board before you can book the dates and time. So this should be a priority for you as soon as you get on the ship on the first day.
  4. That is a good point although we have never taken advantage of it. On the flip side, I find it interesting that the Future Cruise department is open during the morning of the last day of the cruise. I think one time I had to visit them on disembarkation day to get the paperwork for a cruise that I had booked the day before.
  5. I presume you are talking about the "Book Later" program. If so, you have to choose a cruise within 90 days or your $100 deposit is refunded. Here is the flyer on that: link
  6. Reduced deposit $100 pp for non-premium suites) + extra OBC (amount depends on the cabin category and length of cruise). Here is the current flyer: link
  7. Go figure. I never thought of it that way.

  9. If course, when M class first came out, they had the best specialty restaurants with Michel Roux inspired menus: Olympic, SS United States, Normandie, and Ocean Liners restaurants....
  10. I just scheduled my Select Dining reservations (MDR) on line thru my Cruise Planner
  11. Interesting. This is just a guess: is it possible that you are not using the account that made the reservations?
  12. I thought I remembered doing this for an Apex cruise--reserving and changing on the app. When I look at our upcoming Constellation sailing, the app only give me the option to cancel/modify by calling using the two different ways to access the dining reservation.
  13. That must have been quite a line of buses.
  14. There is one more step with this format. When you see your individual reservations, you need to click on "View details". You will then see details and links to "Cancel" or "Modify".
  15. You need to go to go to your cruise planner (click on "Plan my cruise") and then find your Order History to make the changes. Getting to Order History depends on the format of your Cruise Planner. If you have the old style format (first screen shot below), you will find "Order History" in the upper right hand corner of the page. Click on it and you will see your order history with options to modify each individual Select Anytime Dining reservation. If you have the newer style Cruise Planner (below), click on your initials in the upper right hand corner and "Order History" is one of the choices in the drop down box:
  16. Sorry to read about your cabin troubles. Very bad luck.
  17. We were on Infinity on 2002 (her inaugural year) and in 2016. I would not have a problem booking her again. She and her sister ships have some unique design features such as the MDR that has two stories of glass looking out the ship's stern, the mid-ship glass elevators that overlook the port side of the ship, and several windows on the floor of the Oceanview Cafe that allow you to look down on the sea some of the tables. She does lack the larger number of specialty restaurant choices that you found on Silhouette and the lawn. I guess you have to decide if that is enough to dissuade you from booking Infinity. We are booked on a 15 night Constellation TA in Oct. With 9 glorious days at sea on an un-Revolutionized ship, I am looking forward to it. Infinity anchored off the coast of Punta del Este, Uruguay on Jan 5, 2017
  18. I agree that this is the intended meaning in regards to the OP's question.
  19. If you do the Self Walk Off, it is the first group that is called to disembark. Here is the disembarkation information that was issued for our Solstice sailing that ended in Sydney (Jan 4 2020) to give you an idea of what the schedule looks like: link That having been said, you are free to leave the ship anytime after your disembarkation group number is called. So technically you can do the Self Walk Off at any time once the disembarkation process begins. Almost everyone that is doing the Self Walk Off is doing it so that they can get off the ship early and be first in line to pass thru customs/immigration and the taxi lines, etc, so that they get to their airport early enough to get through all the lines to catch their morning flight. Doing Self Walk Off at your leisure defeats that purpose. The large number of people doing Self Walk Off may surprise you so even that may not be a fast process.
  20. I believe the after-hours room service charge is waived for suites.
  21. Obviously Celebrity did not want to be burdened with lots of phone calls this weekend--gives their employees a rest.
