  1. Here is a Cruise Critic thread recently posted on the Italy board: Transportation from FCO to Civitavecchia Good luck.
  2. Rome in Limo is also highly recommended by others on Cruise Critic. I have not used them. It's already in the afternoon in Italy and you don't have much time. I would suggest that you call whomever you choose to get a quote. If you submit a request for quote thru the vendor's website, you will likely get an answer at 2-5 am tomorrow your time if you live in the USA. Good luck.
  3. I recommend Rome Cabs. We have satisfactorily used them before and others seem to have good experiences as well. You will need to talk to them about your stopping off plans. They offer a direct transfer from FCO to the pier and one that squeezes in a tour of Rome. You want something in between.
  4. It's good that they now let you book cruise-only fares online. On the other hand, I am thankful that this sale is only twice a year. Can't take much more of this.
  5. Before our last cruise, we got to enjoy afternoon tea at the Queen Victoria Building Tea Room in Sydney.
  6. I am seeing something similar. I have booked an FV for the Oct Constellation TA. This morning the pricing was $3,150 pp for two passengers (4 cabins available) I looked now and the pricing has jumped to $4,143 pp for two passengers (4 cabins available)!! The price increases during the past few hours are even more severe for AQ and suites.
  7. It was a copy and paste error on my part. Sorry. Here is a working link: 60% BOGO offer. I did book a cruise early last month, so maybe tomorrow's sale will be of some benefit.
  8. Here is the link to the flyer: link Semi-annual?
  9. Celebrity offers an Afternoon Tea in the Main Dining Room usually once per sailing for Captains Club members. I cannot remember if it is restricted to a certain membership level. My daughter (photo) who has developed a real liking to Afternoon Tea has made a point of attending it. In fact, it is usually very well attended. Captains Club Afternoon Tea, Reflection, Jan 2019
  10. This document was posted today by Celebrity via a link titled "Updated FCC Expiration". After scrolling thru its 10 pdf pages, I can't figure out yet what portion was updated. Maybe sharper eyes can figure it out.
  11. The only guaranteed benefit to booking prior to sailing is being able to select your dining date and time--and that only applies to situations where you book (buy) them individually instead of buying a package.
  12. I was wondering the same thing. I guess we will know more when Royal Caribbean presumably updates their website tomorrow.
  13. I just got this email from my TA today. This affects new bookings as of tomorrow. I presume that this only applies if the passenger cancels the booking as opposed to cruises cancelled by Royal. Royal Caribbean blog also posted an article today on this. I guess non-refundable will truly mean non-refundable. I am sure this will eventually trickle down to Celebrity.
  14. Jim, that is my understanding as well. On one of our more recent cruises when we were out on the helipad, I talked to a security officer and he acknowledged being Israeli (upon hearing that I think I backed up a little bit to put a little more space between us).
  15. I just looked at Celebrity's website for the shorex's available for your Oct 24 TA sailing. I was surprised to see that two of the ports (Palma and Gibraltar) have nothing listed! So in totality, the shorex catalog is very thin for you. We will be on the Constellation TA leaving Civitavecchia on Oct 22. We have a healthy slate of Palma excursions available and a couple more excursions offered at Cartagena than Edge. For Constellation, I don't expect Celebrity to add anything more to the shorex offering. For Edge, I do expect that they will have to add something at least for the two ports where nothing is offered. As an aside, I would consider selectively booking private tours anyway for several reasons although I realize that you are trying to spend OBC which you don't want to go to waste! David
  16. The only work around I know of is using the rule that you can change names on a booking and keep your pricing/perks if at least one of the names on the original booking remains. So you can have the other couple book two cabins, one in each other's name. But then the names have to remain split up and I suppose sorted out after you get on board with Guest Relations. Or you would have to swap keys (or partners!). Depending on your point of view, it may not be worth the trouble.
  17. Flying in the day before is a smart decision. Whether you fly into LAX or LGB take a taxi, Uber, or shuttle down to a hotel near the pier where there are plenty to choose from. Your next day to board the ship should be pretty easy.
  18. Welcome to Cruise Critic, Cheshire! Although this may be your first post on the Cruise Critic bulletin board, I don't know if this is your first Celebrity cruise. When the specialty restaurants were first rolled out (Millennium), the upcharge was only $25 (and represented the tip) and the pricing has gradually been moving upward. The specialty restaurants are quite popular and with the crew shortage situation, I anticipate that you will not find a lot of discounting going on during the sailing. You are aware of the discount that you can get by purchasing a dining package. The disadvantage with it is that you cannot select your dining times when you buy the package. You have to wait until you get on board before you can book the dates and time. So this should be a priority for you as soon as you get on the ship on the first day.
  19. That is a good point although we have never taken advantage of it. On the flip side, I find it interesting that the Future Cruise department is open during the morning of the last day of the cruise. I think one time I had to visit them on disembarkation day to get the paperwork for a cruise that I had booked the day before.
