  1. Oh yes well known. Left second wife for third wife is a sign!
  2. P&O appealed to me fo a wold cruise. My half world cruises were British P&O Chusan and Greek "Queen Frederika". I'd be happy to cruise on both again if they are still cruising. I still have threadbare tea towel from Chusan for being first on the dance floor and I got up in time for Greek dance lessons every morning at 11 am, Those were the days!!
  3. i thought that when I typed Uniworld, but I type faster than I have time to think do they an ocean ship?
  4. RICH MCCLEAR - "POSTCARDS FROM THE TRANSITION" - World cruiser. Was offloaded in Perth on previous World Cruise because of Pandemic, He is home from his WC on HAL Zuiderdam now, but has come back to catch up on his most interesting blog, Good advice re his experience as a critically ill passenger, insurance, etc. Offloaded in port Louis, Mauritius, He takes fabulous photos in his hometown, Sitka, Alaska, as well as on the cruise up to Mauritius. What size and age is HAL ZUIDERDAM COMPARED TO HAL AMSTERDAM?
  5. Please disregard. I just googled world cruises and these cruise lines came up. I know several of them are doing world cruises inc Oceania Regatta, Coral Princess etc. I’ll have another look. Lucky it is raining here!!

  7. I assume they would have contacted family members soon after passenger went overboard.
  8. So they are going to Kona first? Oh I love the BIG Island, as you can choose sunny, dry and beaches on one side or the wet, rainforests and volcano on the other.
  9. I don't wear any jewellery as scammers might think the jewellery is good jewellery. Did your husband get a shock when his gold chair was ripped from his neck. Our host in Paris had to use soap to get my friend's solid gold bracelet off. She had never taken it off!
  10. Pleased to hear you had a fun trip with lots of memories. Are you planning a return visit. You'd be welcome!
  11. should be an official announcement soon Ship will soon reach Hawaii.
  12. I guess some people would call former HAL WC ships small. Amsterdam ? The passenger, who was critically ill on current WC, was a former HAL WC. I didn’t take notice of ship. I’m all for the itinerary! One lady I followed cruised for 14 years with HAL WC.
  13. Common sense should say matter would be of interest to Aussies. Was he Australian?
  14. You see scams in action in Paris just walking around. When walking along the Seine River, keep an eye out for steps which lead down to the river. The scammer looks alone at the top but he has support waiting on the stairs. When I spotted this. I would try to warn walkers coming towards me, with no French, but sign language. When they crossed the road away from the river I knew I had saved another couple wearing expensive jewellery. Sometimes you have to laugh. A small overweight little boy eating came out of the stairs seeking money, with his mother hidden in stairwell. Another time a mother and daughter were sitting eating their lunch when a young girl with a pony tail tried gold ring trick in front of me. I told the mother NO!! I’m trying to remember what the young girl said to me as she walked away. She was no lady!! Moral of story wear NOTHING of value and DONT STOP!! Keep walking. I went to theatre at night on my own in Paris. I took my lessons from movie where they teach old ladies in NY to walk fast!!
  15. That is sad. Reminds me of old ships, which aren't maintained, awaiting sale.
  16. That is a funny story I tell everyone you can buy best quality at Op Shops. I couldn't relax with a handbag clipped around my chair. I wear a shoulder bag with bag in front. At least I'd see it go. A friend on an organized tour of France was warned of scams in Paris, but advised Lyon was OK. As their small group crossed the road, she saw a person on a bike take a handbag off one of their party!!! You just can't relax in any of these European places with thousands of gullible visitors!!
  17. That is a new one! Found false bottom under drawers full of cakes of soap. Disappeared after Bombay!
  18. My daughter and I have small backpacks with two zippers at the back (tissues kept in here) It has one zipper in the middle next to our back which is entry to purse. Getting on a bus in Oxford Street London, I watched a pickpocket open one of the false zips, as did the lady behind me!
