  1. Thanks. I found out at church today that the SIL has good English. EM
  2. Yes. There are a lot of cruises, mostly on lines that you haven’t heard of (meant for the OP) that sail from Caribbean islands and do not call at any US ports. Boarding downline on a cruise from the US wouldn’t work unless the cruise ended in a foreign port. Most cruises from US return to the same port, called closed loop. EM
  3. Let me state my take on it. I think he booked an inside gty cabin as a solo, not necessarily a solo cabin. Paid solo supplement. Was assigned a balcony. Now wants to add the OP, but since supplement was not 100%, they want to charge an additional guest the full pp rate for a balcony, rather that the full double rate for the original inside. EM
  4. I think you need to go to the boards here for those two cruise lines and ask there. EM
  5. If you need your post altered or deleted, click on the three little dots in the upper right of your post…called an ellipsis (I learned that on CC) and tell the mods what you would like.
  6. I am researching a cruise for a friend. She wants to take her sister-in-law on a cruise. They are from Panama, though my friend is now a US citizen, not sure about SIL. Anyway, my friend is fluent in English, ut not sure about SIL. So the question…is the Hub app available in Spanish? EM
  7. Did you mean to post this in the ROLL CALL section?
  8. Y goodness, it’s been an all nighter…
  9. Hawkeye stopping by the spa for a grooming session.
  10. The way things are looking you may end up in Halifax. EM
  11. The one in your phone will be fine, but it never hurts to have the paper copy. EM
  12. I would join the existing B2B roll call since you are on the first part. However, if your cruise was the second part I would start a separate roll call, as others on on,y the second part might not realize that it could include them…especially those new to roll calls. In my personal opinion the roll call starter should have titles the roll call as May 1-8 & May 8-15 B2B. EM
  13. Virgin is definitely a different experience. No MDR, you need to make reservations for the restaurants. The menus do not change during the cruise. It’s heavy on vegan/vegetarian. Lots of sushi. There is a learning curve. My five day cruise was not long enough, but then I had personal issues at home that colored my experience. The shows are not typical cruise shows. There was lots of trivia and other games and activities. I would give it another try on a cruise longer than 5 days…when I get rid of my stress. By the way, I’m 80. Not a foodie. EM
  14. The original balconies on Fantasy class were only on suites. And they were narrow. They are still sold as suites, But the best balcony cabins and suites are on the new deck 14 Grand. What are now regular balconies were OV cabins with a door cut in and balcony tacked on the outside of the hull. EM
  15. Cabin crawl are organized on the ROLL CALL for your cruise by the members sailing with you. Other than providing the platform for the ROLL CALL, Cruise Critic has no involvement. EM
  16. On S class, I believe all balconies can connect. There may be a few exceptions, but they would not be the rule. EM
  17. I was assigned a 3:30 time and arrived about 2:30, was waved right through". There was a line of people against the wall. I asked why, and was told they had a later time. EM
  18. Never have I sailed in a suite. Never have I paid for specialty dining Never have I had a drinks package. Never have I gone down the slides or been in a hot tub. Never have I ceased to be amazed that when I attend the art lectures thanks to an art history course taken over 50 years ago, I know more about the art than 99% of the others in the audience.
  19. Yacht Club could wander into Top 19 but Aurea can’t use YC facilities. You will be assigned a specific MDR. The menus are the same in all MDRs. There is always the buffet. EM
  20. Since MSC doesn’t embark everyone at the same port, embarkation is not such a cluster as if they did. I think more people ‘embark in Barcelona, so it would be busier. Cabin availability will vary, as a certain number of cabins are allotted for each port you you might take into consideration what is available in making your choice. EM
  21. It would help to know what your previous cabin was so you can avoid the area. EM
  22. What kind of balcony are you asking about. The porthole is what is called a sheltered(Cunard) or cove(Carnival) balcony. If you are talking about the Infinite Verandah cabins, they do not have a traditional balcony separated from the cabin interior. The verandah is an extension of the cabin with a floor to ceiling window that opens. Thus, no balcony divider to open. EM
  23. I just bumped a thread to the top to ease your concerns. Maximum draft…EM
