  1. I was on Summit June 4-11. I only ate in the MDR three nights due to solos being treated so poorly (hour wait for a table, share or not) but I don’t recall seeing anyone in shorts, adult, youth, child. EM
  2. No car seats or boosters will be provided. It’s possible the bus may not have seatbelts. I think I’ve been in a bus that had seatbelts, but I can’t remember where. Possibly Europe. EM
  3. It’s not just Princess. In fact, I haven’t researched a single on Princess. But back in Feb/March I was having a small window where I could take a short cruise. As a solo trying to book late, I couldn’t get a cabin as a solo in any category on Carnival, Celebrity, or MSC. So, I stayed home. But booking a little farther ahead I was able to book a B2B 4/3 on MSC from Port Canaveral in August. And even shorter time I got a cabin on Celebrity Summit to Bermuda. I haven’t looked further out…I’m getting on in years and as someone else said, lately I don’t even buy green bananas…. EM
  4. Cruisedeckplans has pics of this cabin on Beyond. It looks huge. I think the on,y thing to watch for is the legs of the chair at the desk. To see the pics, go to cruisedeckplans.com, click on Celebrity, then Beyond. Scroll down the left side to OV cabins, and click on handicap cabins. There will be a tiny camera icon by the cabins with pics. Click on the icon. Here is one pic I stole to illustrate the chair.
  5. I recognize that large table…we were assigned it for first seating in 2019. I think we started out with six, in pairs. One couple moved elsewhere. The wait staff said there were 15 at the table for second seating, and I think 16 for third. I believe it was their only table, so we had fast service. I will be back on Seaside for 7 days in August and will be interested to see what is different. EM
  6. Thanks for that, just ordered a set. I usually carry a very small plug in light for hotels, and for the cabin bath I have an LCD light with suction cup, plugged into a power bank. It’s a snowflake and changes colors. Using only at night, the power bank has to be recharged about every three days. I stick it on the mirror, which increases the light. EM
  7. Divina docked in Old San Juan. EM
  8. I think you are confusing HMC ( Half Moon Cay) with whatever NCLs private island is. NCL does not go to HMC.
  9. Schengen country, they are already IN the Schengen group of countries, no customs or immigration. EM
  10. Pictures on cruisedeckplans do not show any shade.
  11. I am also Elite on Celebrity and get the 90 free minutes. It had been 4 years since my last X cruise, so I found signing up for internet confusing. Prior to sailing, I found the internet packages to be expensive, for 7 days using up more than my $200 OBC. When I went to sign up onboard, it automatically started my 90 free minutes. When I used them up, and went to buy more, the package costs had changed and I calculated that purchasing a daily 24 hour package would be less expensive than a package for the rest of the cruise. By the time those 24 hours were up, the packages had changed again, and much cheaper and my cruise total was about $150. So I would advise that she not purchase a plan until she has used up her 90 minutes. make sure that she has contacted Captains Club to set up her account before the cruise. My cruise was this month, June 4. EM
  12. I was at HMC on Oosterdam and Noordam was also there. Second ship uses its own tenders. EM
  13. Please change your font to something other than comic sans. That font shows up on mobile devices as very fine faint cursive script. I can barely read it on iPad, impossible for those on phones. EM
  14. When I status matched with X Elite, that was the highest level on X. Several more now.
  15. My next cruise they gave me 1230. Now, I’m diamond so maybe I could get in earlier. But I’m aging and have trouble standing very long. Like five minutes. So if a later time eliminates lines, I’m for it. EM
  16. Don’t bypass places like TJ MAXX, Marshall’s, Burlington, and dept. store luggage dept. my best hard side roller bag was steeply discounted at a dept. store. EM
  17. There is no one scheduled for Princess Cays that day, so bet Carnival goes there. EM
  18. That will be corrected. Chances are there will be two HAL ships there, as it is their private island. Carnival and one of the HAL ships will go elsewhere.
  19. High Sierra has some nice backpacks. I have one that I have used for years, wheeled, clamshell style and expandable. Rollaboard. I think I bought it in Marshall’s. Its wheels lost their tires, up still work. It just went on a road trip last month. They only model they currently have that is close only has a single handle, I prefer double handle so I can slide the backpack over it. EM
  20. I see we have the same taste!
  21. I have several that I use/have used. The largest is the Motherlode jr. backpack by ebags. It is expandable, has a lot of pockets. It is easy to pack too much into it, but it has always fit under an aisle seat. I also have a couple of backpacks from Luglife that are smaller and have what they call a trolley sleeve across the back so you can slide it down over the handle of your rollaboard. They also make it in a packable version that holds the same amount of stuff and doubles as excursion/beach bag. EM
  22. I would wait until you are Diamond, as it is a one time thing. You won’t get credit for the first cruise unless you are already a voyagers Club member though. We didn’t even know about it when we did the first cruise, joined after booking the second cruise and status matched to Celebrity Elite. EM
  23. There is a thread on the Carnival board by Willdra, who does wonderful reviews. Willdra’s Heavenly Carnival Horizon…. Cruise was in April but she is just getting around to the commentary…. Page 8, starting with post 187 she recounts her excursion on first visit to Bonaire, with lots of pictures. EM
  24. I cry foul! Not fair that they have roast Turkey and prime rib on the same menu! EM
  25. A couple of suggestions: At the top of the page is a pinned topic Panamax ships. It is a list of which ships use the old locks and new locks. Keep that list in mind, because new or old locks does not depend on which cruise line goes through, but which ship of that line. Next, go to cruisetimetables.com and choose Cruises to… and then Panama/Panama Canal. Then choose the time you want to cruise. Some months are much busier than others. There is not much happening during the Northern hemisphere summer but start to pick in October when ships leave Alaska for winter in the Caribbean. It is really active November through March, then slows down in April when the ships head back to Alaska. Don’t be concerned about weather, it is always hot and humid as Panama is near the equator. The only variable is how much rainier it will be in some months. Once you see who is transiting when you want to go, you can look them up in the Panamax thread to see which locks they will use. EM
