  1. Looking at your itinerary, Divina will not enter the Panama Canal. You will dock in Colon and chances are the tour will be by bus from the terminal in Colon. EM
  2. Or maybe on the Ports of Call section for Japan. Cruisers to Japan are always looking for touring hints. EM
  3. I think all balconies on Nieuw Amsterdam are covered, whereas those on Caribe deck of Grand P are half covered (but larger) and the minisuites on Dolphin deck are large but totally uncovered. It does rain a bit in Alaska…EM
  4. If you are looking at summer and fall cruising, you might consider Bermuda. Cruises leave from NYC, Boston and Baltimore. You also need to consider sleeping arrangements for small children. For some, 3/4 guests have an upper bunk, not suitable for a toddler, maybe not even the 4yo. Type of cabin makes a difference, too, with bed arrangement. MSC has uppers in inside and OV cabins, but balconies can have a foldout sofa that is queen size and could handle both kids, and a bunk sofa arrangement, where the seat of the sofa raises up to make an upper bunk, and a lower bed is below. You have lots of research to do! EM
  5. I almost choked when I saw a 140,000 ton ship referred to as ‘quaint and intimate…’. Now if you were talking about an Armonia class ship…. EM
  6. No, people sail MSC from the US weekly with only BC and photo ID. EM
  7. The 17y/o needs a govt issued photo ID which can be a drivers license or school ID. EM
  8. You can use a debit card in ports to get more euros if needed. Shops also take credit cards. Be sure to have one that does not charge a foreign transaction fee. EM
  9. This is best asked on the board here for Celebrity. More Celebrity experts will see it there. EM
  10. You might also ask on the Ports of Call board for Italy. EM
  11. I have trouble figuring out what you are looking for, nor where you are looking. Apparently not in the Roll Calls forum. Perhaps the ‘find a cruise’ area? EM
  12. Since the OP is from the UK, I doubt they have either…. EM
  13. I gave you some suggestions on your thread on the Family board, but also suggested you ask on the board here for each cruise line you are considering. This is untrue. carnival Dream class ships each have 197 Deluxe OV cabins, Vista class have 215, plus family harbor cove cabins. Unfortunately, they have eliminated these cabins from the newest class. EM
  14. Your best research would be to ask here on each of the cruise lines you would consider. But I can tell you that Carnival has the Deluxe Ocean View cabins on the Dream class and newer. Two uppers. Sleeper sofa and the twin king. Plus a split bath, one has toilet, sink, shower, the other has sink and tub/shower. Princess has some family cabins that sleep up to six, but maybe on,y two per ship. MSC has some ships with connecting cabins for families, some are balconies connecting to a solo inside. But what is available differs by class of ship. Celebrity has some FV cabins that sleep five, double and single sofa plus the main bed. The corner cabins with huge balconies are being reclassified as suites. These are on M class. There are also family cabins on S class, but on,y sleep four. I can’t answer for Royal or NCL as I don’t sail those lines. EM
  15. Read some of the Live From threads that have just completed. Thee are lots of pictures, and menus galore as well as food porn. EM
  16. That might have been in a European port, not permitted sailing from USA. EM
  17. Well, they state the ship name…and muster station. I plan to ask in August as I will be back on Seaside…if they can reprogram if in a different muster station. But really, it only cost me $5 in 2019…. EM
  18. Two North American and two EU. But the outlets are very close to the desk top, and the US outlets are sideways. EM
  19. I found the entire pricing to be confusing and erratic. I sailed last week on Summit. I had $200 non-refundable OBC but to purchase pre cruise would have exceeded that. I started out using my Elite 90 minutes. When that was done, I had the option of per day continuous, or per cruise. So I bought a day. That had expired for a few hours when I went to buy more. I had already calculated that by day was cheaper than per cruise. But then, the per day was no longer available, but per cruise remaining was only $113. So essentially I paid less than $150 for Wi-Fi for the cruise, leaving room for three diet cokes, a glass of wine, and an insulated glass. And there was a few dollars left over unspent.
  20. Select didn’t work for me last week. Sailing solo, booked late. Unable to make reservations, the first night I had to wait an hour for a shared table. Second night about 35 min. Third time I went was the first night in Bermuda, so no wait. After that I previewed the menu, not impressed so I grazed the buffet. Overall, or impressed with the menu choices, but food is so subjective. EM
  21. Welcome to Cruise Critic. If you go to the board here for Celebrity, located on the main boards page under Cruise Lines A-O, you will find a pinned topic at the top of the page that contains reviews of cabins on the S class ships, and a spreadsheet about them. Otherwise, ask your question on the Celebrity board, as there is much more traffic there. EM
  22. I just got off Summit today. Granted, I was in an inside HC cabin, but this was what each nightstand had:
