  1. Since you all seem to live in NJ, I would recommend any ship sailing from NY/NJ or Baltimore. Drive to port, no worry about flights, hotels, luggage… Celebrity Eclipse sails from Cape Liberty/Bayonne and would be the most laid back ambiance. It’s also the smallest of the ships sailing from the NY area. My second choice might be Carnival Venezia, much more activity, more families with children. The other ships sailing from there are much larger and cater heavily to families with children. Bermuda is a nice, easy port. The absolute smallest ships would be those sailing from Baltimore, also drivable. But still good value. If you have never cruised before, the smallest ship will seem huge. EM
  2. You can be as formal as you want…or not. If you have a significant number of guests for Europe, they will be better dressed every night, not just elegant night. EM
  3. Did you check the S class cabin sticky at the top of the page? That cabin will be the same on each S class ship. EM
  4. Your first sea day will be elegant night. EM
  5. Years ago, on my first real vacation that did t involve going home to see the parents, I went to curaçao. While there I met a man who was there on a casino junket. Expenses paid, I presume. He said it wasn’t whether you won or lost, but that the casino wants people there gambling, winning a little, losing a little, but causing others to gamble also. EM
  6. The fact that it is classed as ambulatory accessible tells you it is not intended for someone with a scooter or w/c. Pics on cruisedeckplans from Westerdam and Zuiderdam show the space would be tight, though the bathroom is accessible. Problem may be the standard width of the door. EM
  7. There are some on MSC. Clearly marked as connecting on their deck plans. Start with the Seaside class ships. EM
  8. It looks like I neglected to post the NCL Gem’s partial on Saturday. @BillB48in the pics of the third lock there is a structure that looks like bleachers…can someone identify what it is?
  9. Tuesday 2/27 and Sirena is heading back to the Caribbean.
  10. Divina x2; Seaside x2; Seashore;Armonia. EM
  11. If you go to the top of the threads list, upper left you will see See posts about.. and just to the right Select ship. Click on Select ship and you get a dropdown menu of ships. World Europa is just listed as Europa. Click on her and you will get a list of threads about her. A few threads down is a review from YC last Sept. EM
  12. On every ship of every cruise line in every cabin, on the back of the door is a muster station poster with directions to your station in diagram form. EM
  13. My high school best friend became a librarian, specializing in maps. Married to a college geography professor. They drove everywhere…she would t fly. I think the original goal was 49 states and after they accomplished that, the Canadian provinces. Then it expanded to every county in every state. They drove to Alaska at least twice, and also did the Alaska Marine Highway. Have you considered a Great Lakes cruise, or Erie Canal…. EM
  14. There is a board for this, called Florida Departures, located under North American Homeports. Very frequent question. EM
  15. On that itinerary we had one gala night. Ocean Cay night was Tropical The next day was a sea day and was Elegant night. Next night casual Friday night White Saturday casual EM
  16. Cruisedeckplans has a video of this cabin. Perhaps Mr Google could bring it up. EM
  17. Noise at elevator banks is more likely to be chatter from the people getting off. However, sometimes you do hear that ding. We had cabin 9058 on Celebrity Infinity and I kept hearing that elevator ding. But it was strange, as we were pretty far from the forward elevators. But right across from us was a service area. One time I exited the cabin and the door was open…and there was a service elevator in there. The source of the mystery ding. EM
  18. It’s always been a page in the edocs. EM
  19. If you opt to purchase a bracelet it will do the same as swiping the card. EM
  20. There is a long thread about this. Lately I have had better luck with mock bookings. EM
  21. And again, Cruise Critic is a forum about cruising. It is not a travel agency, you cannot book a cruise through Cruise Critic. But you can book cruises through agencies that advertise on this site. EM
  22. If by this site you mean Cruise Critic, CC is not a travel agency. They do accept advertising from many agencies though. Which is why we are not allowed to name or discuss travel agents/agencies. EM
  23. Welcome to Cruise Critic. There is a section here called Ports of Call. You want to scroll down the boards page and in Ports of Call select Caribbean, then look for Roatan. Folks there should be able to tell you about beaches. There is straw market type shopping at Coxen Hole, but not much else. EM
  24. Welcome to Cruise Critic. If you go back to the main boards page, scroll down a ways and you will find a forum called UK Cruising. Folks there should be able to help you out. EM
