  1. Since you are sailing from a US port, the ship is required to ‘zero down’ on turnaround day before any new guests can board. They will send you a letter the day before with instructions. Usually they will tell you a time and place to meet to take care of the formalities. If there is a large group, sometimes CBP comes aboard to do it, but just a few they may walk you off and through immigration, then back on. If they are using facial recognition they may prefer to do it in the terminal. You would think it would be an opportunity to sleep in. However, there will be noise in the corridors from departing guests, and food venues will close early, sometimes by 8:30 or 9am. EM
  2. If you can swing the cost, I recommend a deluxe OV cabin, esp. with teen girls and if you do four to the cabin. It has two bathrooms, one with toilet, shower, sink, and the other tub/shower and sink. EM
  3. It would depend on the composition of your party. If you have kids along in the same cabin, esp. teens, two showers and sinks would trump the balcony. EM
  4. If they have cartons of milk on the buffet at breakfast, pick up an extra carton or two and keep them in your fridge. EM
  5. Last locks. Wonder if those folks out on the bow slept through the Cocoli Locks?
  6. NCL Bliss kept her guests up all night with a night transit.
  7. What kind of private transfer are you arranging? Not much available in Whittier. EM
  8. Unfortunately Gatun cam is all blurry, so here is your exit from the Agua Clara cam.
  9. Gatun cam needs cataract surgery, so we see Serenade out on the Agua Clara cam
  10. I agree that you should mix and match the cruise lines and ships. And sometimes the older, smaller ships will be doing the more interesting itineraries. Find a cruise that intrigues you. Then go to a site like cruisetimetables.com and see who might be sailing from the end port of that cruise, going on another interesting itinerary. You might have to stay a day or two on shore in order to catch the next ship. Or take a train or ferry to the next embarkation port. Depending on where the cruise is, you might be able to arrange to leave a ship a port early in order to catch the next one. I don’t think you can do the Phineas Fogg thing because according to @chengkp75freighters have not resumed carrying passengers since Covid. EM
  11. Through the Pedro Miguel locks and heading toward the Centennial Bridge
  12. From the Cerro Luisa cam, which says it shows the Pedro Miguel locks and the Centennial Bridge, but at the moment is showing neither. And yes, it looks a bit damp. Everyone has left the bow…
  13. Did you mean the Conquest December 4? She will be in Cozumel on Dec. 6 at the Puerto Maya dock. She will be in company with Carnival Breeze and Eurodam. Next door at the International Pier will be Celebrity Reflection, Mariner of the Seas, and Wonder of the Seas. EM
  14. Do you know this from experience? Because that is not what the offer says: read #3.
  15. Still making irregular visits, just keeping an eye on things. Spent some time here last night and tonight.
  16. Some balcony cabins have an upper berth for the 3rd person. These pics are from 6030 on Summit:
  17. If you saved your cruise card, it’s printed on the front, lower right, in tiny print. EM
  18. You find it in the Roll Call forums. Go back to the boards page, scroll down to ROLL CALLS, click on Celebrity, then Millennium, and look for a thread with the dates for your cruise. In your case, there is a roll call, 7 pages long, at the top of the second page of Millie roll calls. EM
  19. The Caribbean is always warm enough. Closer to the equator temps don’t vary much, maybe five degrees F. Just look for a time when US kids are not on holiday. EM
  20. I’ve always regarded tipping up front as unsavory. Either the person feels inferior and thinks they won’t get service without a bribe, or they are so puffed up with themselves that they think throwing money around will enhance their importance. EM
  21. Go to the beach. Visit the Ports of Call board for Bahamas. EM
