  1. If you haven’t seen the Royal Caribbean news, they’re going to eliminate testing for cruises 5 days and under for vaccinated passengers, and also allow more unvaccinated passengers over 12 (no details given yet.). I don’t know how either of these things will work with Bermuda. Or the Bahamas even… but especially Bermuda. Did I mention Bermuda? 😁. The next few weeks will be interesting!!
  2. They actually did discuss this in loose terms on the earning call this morning, and then more information came out (though still not detailed enough) as the day went on. The earnings themselves were fairly decent, so they didn’t really need to overshadow anything. ps — quietly Princess has already been booking a certain number of unvaccinated passengers who can request an exemption with no reason, on a first come first served basis. I don’t know when they started, but it was this way as of a few weeks ago.
  3. Ha I just wrote about Bermuda the same time as you. No idea how that’s going to work.
  4. They’ve said unvaccinated will only have to test once now. They haven’t said how they’ll manage that 80%. It will be really interesting to see how they’ll handle both the testing and the over 12 unvaccinated change when it comes to Bermuda, which has always had stricter requirements than the Caribbean islands.
  5. I’ve had the French Onion soup in Paris…. Hotel, Las Vegas. 😁 at Mon Ami Gabi (the restaurant out front, facing the Bellagio), and they use Gruyère, and it was fantastic!!
  6. The roll calls and the FB groups are great sources of information. Back last October dealing with the Bermuda testing requirements, we would’ve been lost without them. But when it comes to the M&Gs, that’s just not our thing. It never has been. Then to add in covid, not only do we want to avoid gatherings even more, but then to also be a traced gathering, where if one person gets it they can identify a whole room of close contacts… that’s not where we want to be. But certainly we wouldn’t say we’ll be there and then no-show for no reason. That would be very rude!!
  7. Totally with this, so bad two cruises ago that I can’t imagine us ever going there again on any NCL ship. Thing we love: not really leaving the ship very much. Last October on the Breakaway to Bermuda our entire time off the ship was walking around the port for about an hour. Been there five times already, same with most of the Eastern Caribbean, Canada, etc. So an hour off the ship was enough!
  8. Thanks! I’m with you on the sport coat. Unless it’s a wedding, funeral, or job interview, a suit jacket/sport coat just isn’t happening!!
  9. It sounds like non-ripped jeans and a button down shirt will be okay for 150 CP? I might still be wearing a boot on one foot, too, so jeans will just work better. Thanks!
  10. I don’t know about cruise ships, but the Wynn in Las Vegas doesn’t have a 40-49th floor because 4 is an unlucky number for Chinese gamblers!
  11. I had to show a few of your posts to my wife because 1. She hates birds, 2. She got stuck in a bathroom when she was young, and 3. We love donuts. 😂 But now she’s paranoid about never using a public bathroom when we go on the Oasis!!! 😳
  12. We’re big fans of being in the Haven area itself. Super convenient to just go back to the room if you want to grab something or whatever!
  13. Maybe I missed that part… so in St Johns you’ll be close to your own house?? WFS (Working from Ship) for four weeks sounds awesome. Enjoy!! edited: I went back and saw you mentioned that in the second post. I skim too much. 😁😁
  14. Which did you use? We live in Staten Island, and that’s actually the car service we use for the airport or if we were going to the cruise terminal (Bayonne or Manhattan) and didn’t want to drive. They’re usually very good. The Hampton Inn itself was expanded a couple of years ago. They basically added on a second half of the building. So I assume you were in the new “wing.” Enjoy!
