  1. Difference would be location. I would avoid the A-1s because in most cases they are under public areas.
  2. I would add that Oceania is among the most conservative cruise lines at missing ports due to weather/rough seas. IME of over 50 cruises, ten have been on Oceania or Regent. I believe that on only two if those cruises we did not miss a port...eight we did miss at least one. On the other 40 cruises, as far as I can remember, we missed ports on maybe three of them. Could be a coincidence, but I would hesitate to leave an Oceania ship at one port during a cruise and plan to meet the ship at another.
  3. So am I. I am on 24 day Norway, Greenland, Iceland itinerary leaving July 26. Also concerned they could cancel our cruise to do the refurb.
  4. I and several others on this board called Oceania within the last 4 days and all got the same information......an undetermined date in 2024. I do not see another thread with different up to date info. If there is one, please link it for me. Thanks!
  5. Anxious to hear how folks like the big changes to Riviera. My future cruises are on Marina and am sad that Marina drydock has been postponed from 2023 to an as yet undetermined date in 2024.
  6. Unfortunately, Marina's drydock has been postponed to an as yet undetermined dry dock date in 2024.
  7. I am on Equinox RT Port Everglades on Dec. 12 and the casino and theater pages on my app do NOT say anything about masks...otherwise they look similar to the pages posted by the OP. Probably just a leftover from more restrictive Covid times that was not taken down for that ship.
  8. Did you have an upcharge beyond deviation fee? Did you get a non stop?
  9. If the front desk did not have basic port info they should have pointed us the vast distance across the room toward the Destinations desk if that was appropriate.
  10. Got the Daily Passages. Port info was not distributed except for very minimal amount printed in it. We went to front desk team and when we asked for it they claimed they did not have anything to offer us. BTW cold unhelpful front desk was only example on the ship of staff not being friendly and super helpful.
  11. I agree that the OP should not be expecting Oceania to waive their rule just for her. But also she should not be mocked for changing her story here. I presume she changed the date of expiration as a test to assess whether the actual date was the reason why her passport info was not being accepted. If she did not click it through as a final completed registration, I do not think that she did anything wrong.
  12. I will be on Marina for 14 nights in the Med in April/May. Will assess at that point whether cruising on her in August of '24 if unrefurbished will be a problem for me.
  13. The delay to 2024 is quite concerning. if ship will not be renovated I may cancel my 25 night cruise which I just booked.
  14. Actually I am booked on a Celebrity cruise next month that stops in Martinique. You do NOT need a passport for that closed loop cruise, BUT you may not get off of the ship during that stop in Martinique.
  15. I just called Oceania and asked. They confirmed that Marina refit will NOT happen in 2023. Promised revised time frame is 2024 but the date is, as of now, undetermined. I booked a cruise in August 2024 assuming refit will have been completed. Hoping they do it by then!
  16. More likely a charter. Nine days is not enough time, plus they tend to do them in Europe when ship is there which would mean not doing in the winter.
  17. Our experience was different on the same ship at the same time. Good to know for the future, though. Thank you.
  18. Oh, we asked but nothing was offered. Instead we went to usual web sites like whatsinport and got basic info. Not the end of the world, but would have been nice to include it in daily program.
  19. Agree. Was on Mariner last month. Real hard copies delivered each evening to our suite. No change in that regard. What we did not like was that the daily program lacked basic next day's port information. Little or no info regarding logistics such as whether there is a shuttle to town or logistics of where to catch a taxi or a map of the port area.
  20. Oceania made the discussion about what could have been moot by enforcing their rule. I am good with that. I was merely correcting a fact related to the theoretical discussion.
  21. Guadeloupe only requires 3 months validity on passports, which the OP would meet.
  22. I cruised Mexico west coast in October. Every port city was on daylight savings time matching corresponding U.S. daylight savings time. For example Puerto Vallarta was on same as U.S. Central Daylight time, (same as Chicago) Cabo was on same as Mountain Daylight time (Denver) and Ensenada was on same as Pacific Daylight time (LA). So at least in 2022 Mexico was on daylight savings time.
  23. This cruise line exception is not listed in most government web sites. Look at the number of ports visited by cruise lines doing closed loop cruises who do not require passports.
  24. I believe that all ports in this situation do, with possible exception of Guadeloupe and they have a 3 month passport expiration rule for which the passenger would be in compliance.
