  1. We’re on the Regal next cruise, curious about reported Covid + passengers and crew? Thanks.
  2. We too pack meds for all possible illnesses, well before Covid age. Maybe I overlooked but I didn’t see any masks listed. We’re packing masks for our 12/26 cruise. Expecting it to be full. We wear masks when out locally in stores so why shouldn’t we take on ship. Not a political statement, personal guidelines of late. Stay well all!
  3. We’re on the Regal 12/26 sailing. Placed a bid on a cc mini. Those of you who have had your bid accepted, how far out from the cruise did you get notified? Just curious, thanks!
  4. Oops, I suspected but wasn’t sure, thanks for the correction! I should have noticed by his “accent” as I’m a Yankee as well.
  5. Shortly after retirement 3 yrs ago, I weighed the pros and cons of this Hawaii cruise. I thought for sure DH and I would be bored on all those sea days. But, we booked the Grand and were delighted on the sail away out of SF. We were never bored the whole 14 days and had many fun and interesting activities to choose from. Highlights: renting a car on Oahu, spending hours at Pearl Harbor, driving to North coast, lunch in a little beachside shack and Punchbowl National cemetery. Then on Kauai I surprised my hubby with a bi-plane ride over the island, absolutely awesome! Maui was snorkeling and we enjoyed waterfall hikes and volcano national park on the Big Island. As mentioned above, the couple who are native Hawaiians and present on the ship have a never ending schedule of great activities. The last afternoon at sea, they performed a “concert” in the theater with all the passengers who either took hula lessons or ukulele classes. Wonderful show. Was sad at the thought of disembarking. Enjoyed every moment! The finale was arriving into SF at dawn and silently gliding under the Golden Gate. Can’t wait to do this again!
  6. We’re scheduled to do a Caribbean ABC island cruise 12/26. Have been watching trends on ships. It seems this sailing will most likely be almost if not completely full. Several questions come to mind: how often is the crew tested, only with symptoms? Would be nice if Princess mandated mask wearing in public places, but prob won’t. Am leaning towards having minimal cabin service by steward to keep us safe. Am tired of the cancelled cruises we’ve missed and anxious to go but am concerned about repeat infections. I got it a few months ago after flying to a family gathering, fortunately hubby never turned positive. I barely had symptoms. We’re both fully vaxxed & boosted. Like everyone else, Covid fatigue is real but I want to live my life too.
  7. Yes, I totally agree! We took Delta and splurged for the Delta One, enroute to Italy a few months ago. Wow, game changer for how we felt upon landing the next morning. I just read today that Delta is stopping Delta One (lie flat seats) service domestically.
  8. Also concerned about a multitude of cabins available on the 2/25/23 CA coastal. It’s reminiscent of the cancelled CA Coastal we had back in Sept. was scheduled to be on the Diamond, lots suspected it would be cancelled, Princess insisted it was a “go.” Finally got the news 2 weeks before departure. Hope it doesn’t happen again. On the flip side, we’re on the 12/26 sailing to Caribbean ABC Islands. Very few available cabins at this point. Probably will be full, Christmas break. Have to be extremely cautious, don’t want to return home with anything unplanned. 😖
  9. Am also not seeing the lower fares. We’re already booked on the 2/25 cruise, got the $100pp “excursion OBC.”
  10. I had similar thoughts. We’ll be on the Regal 12/26 and looks like a pretty full ship. We tend to plan our dinner time around evening events. Hate to commit and not use the reserv, so we’ll just have to take our chances. Appreciate the above input though.
  11. We had reservations on the Diamond in early Sept., which would have been her first cruise upon return. It was cancelled about two weeks before departure, along with several others later that month and into October. The “word” was they were having problems getting crew. At least a month before it was cancelled, our cruise was “not available” on the Princess site. I and many others messaged and called Princess about the possibility of cancellation. And we were reassured it was a “go.” It was docked in San Pedro. On the positive side, we were reimbursed fairly quickly.
  12. Appreciate and enjoyed your review. Convinced us to make a reservation, which I did. We’ll be there in late December. Did you just randomly stop at certain places or did you have a list? Suggestions for stops? Thanks!
  13. We feel quite the same as the OP. After many cruises and years, we don’t feel the need to dress up. We may take one “nice” outfit each and may or may not use it. Since retirement, we decided to do what we want when we want. I have to support one of the above posts re: the Sanctuary. We’ve gone there the last few cruises and enjoyed the serenity, drinks, snacks and pampering. If that interests you, it’s a must to make that a priority to reserve your spot/s immediately after boarding. The “better”located chairs go first. Bottom line, if you enjoy your style of cruising, stick with it!
  14. This was on the Regal to New England. You do get a nice view of Lower Manhattan. The Statue of Liberty was not very close, I used zoom on my camera for better pics. It’s also a beautiful “glide” under the Verrazano bridge. If you are disembarking in NY, would be nice to get up early so you can get the full effect of arriving at dawn. (I grew up in NY so these are special pics for me!)
  15. That was quick, thanks very much!
  16. I recall seeing a post awhile back about requesting distilled water for CPAP delivered to cabin. Anyone know how to order? Thanks!
  17. Appreciate your advice, I just tried the same, deleted app, reloaded, our cancelled Diamond cruise (departing in 3 days) 🙄 still listed in addition to our December cruise.
  18. We also had our 9/1 Diamond cancelled and it still appears under Upcoming Cruises. I tried the Live Chat on the site and was told “they’re working on it.” I also asked when I could expect the FCC from that cruise to be credited to our December booking. Was told “they have until Sept. 8.” Of course am reluctant to pay final balance on that cruise before receiving FCC. Such a mess!
  19. The last few cruises we’ve been on, most of the bars will have two sizes of water available (500ml and 1 liter). We discovered it was better to grab the water earlier in the day as they seemed to run out in the evening.
  20. We were on the Regal last in 2019. At that time the PES lounge was in Club 6. Seemed very small but never saw many present, multiple tables available. Was a nice atmosphere, very quiet. Excellent service!
  21. I agree with you on both counts! We were supposed to be on the Sept. 1 Diamond cruise. I had concerns ever since I made the reservations. Have been wondering if there is a “stigma” attached to the Diamond due to the Covid tragedy they experienced. I surely won’t reserve a cruise on her again. Maybe they should scrap her. 😳 Sad.
  22. Our FCC was ready to expire the end of this year and that’s why we’ve booked a couple of cruises, one of which was the canceled Diamond cruise. I noticed that the new expiration date for the FCC from the Diamond cruise is now end of 2023. So I have a feeling yours will be the same.
