  1. Thank you for the replies. I have quite often seen Hawaiian Host and Mauna Loa being sold in Costco in California; but has never seen the particular "kind" that my co-worker brought back from Hawaii that he said only being sold in Hawaii. So, mainly I have 2 questions: 1. Is there a Costco or Walmart by the cruise ports of Honolulu or Maui or Kona? 2. Anyone knows if there is a "kind" of chocolates covered nuts (by Mauna Loa) that only being sold in Hawaii? Thank you!
  2. I think the brand is either Mauna Loa or Hawaiian Host. It is not just the chocolate covered macadamia nut that you can easily buy anywhere; I never saw that kind in California. And according to my co-worker, that kind only available in Hawaii. I don't remember the exact name of that "kind".
  3. Many years ago, a co-workers went to Hawaii, and brought back to the office a few boxes of delicious Hawaiian chocolate with nuts. He said he bought it at Costco there, and was told that particular kind of Hawaiian chocolate with nuts package is only being sold in Hawaii. I am retired and no longer have contact with that co-worker. I will be going on a cruise next April with 3 Hawaii ports. Since I will disembark in my home city, so no flight involved, therefore, I would love to buy many boxes of those sweets to bring home for my family and friends.
  4. Anyone knows if there is a Costco or Walmart near the cruise port (Princess ship) in Lahaina, Honolulu, or Kona?
  5. Last month I had this dessert on Discovery Princess.
  6. You were lucky you used it for EZair. I tried to pay my EZair with gift cards on my last cruise, and I was told gift cards are not to be used for EZair. The agent said that limitation is written in gift card's terms and conditions/FAQ. Q: Are there any restrictions in using the Princess Cruises Gift Card towards the payment of products and services offered by Princess Cruises?A: The Princess Cruises Gift Card can be used for most Princess products and services, with the exception of payment towards Land Excursions and eZAir.
  7. I do remember we had a long delay, and lots of people waiting in line for hours.
  8. We did the same route. On Golden Princess, correct?
  9. Can we use Princess gift cards to pay for Princess Protection Plan when we make our final payment? Bought some Princess gift cards from AARP last week. Didn't want to hold on to them, so call Princess to make a partial payment on an existing booking (final payment in a month). I don't have Princess Protection Plan yet, but consider buying it before making final payment. The Princess agent told me, once I made partial payment on an existing booking, I will no longer be allowed to buy Princess Protection Plan for that booking later on. Anyone heard of that limitation? Thank you.
  10. I know if I book my specialty dinners after I am on board, the charges will be deducted from the OBC from my account. If I book my specialty dinners now for my April 2023 cruise, will the charges be deducted automatically from the OBC in my account for that booking or I need to pay with my credit card now?
  11. Yes, it is also available as 27-night Sydney to L.A. We originally booked it as 27-night, then Princess had a promotion for the 5-night and 22 nights, so we cancelled our 27-night and rebook it as two separate cruises.
  12. We will be on a b2b also; a 5 days cruise follows by a 22 days, same cabin. We will embark in Sydney, 5 days later, first cruise finish in Auckland. Then from Auckland, 22 days to Los Angeles. So which of the 4 above we fall into? Need to pack our luggage to get off ship and go through immigration in Auckland? Thank you.
  13. That is a good suggestion, thank you. I will pay my last meal in Sydney with my leftover cash and credit card for the balance over cash that I have. Wonder if I can combine usage of cash and credit card together for the restaurant bill?
  14. From CC posts, I learned most business in Sydney do accept credit card; some CC posts suggested I get small amount of cash just in case. So, I am thinking of getting only $100 AUD from ATM after we check-in to our hotel. After an 15 hours non-stop flight, we will most likely be quite tired, so our plans for that 1 day is just eating and shopping for things that we want to bring for the cruise (bodywash, disinfectant spray, shampoo, etc.) and some Australia "specific/authentic" snacks or souvenirs to bring back for our friends and bottled water and snacks for the hotel stay. We will be staying at Four Seasons Sydney Hotel, so we will be doing our eating and shopping in that area. One of the CC posts suggested eating at the Gateway Sydney, so we plan to go there for lunch. If many choices, we might go there for dinner also. We will try to use our credit cards for all the eating and shopping. The $100 AUD is just for "exceptions" businesses.
  15. Thank you so much for the information. Pre-cruise, we will stay in Sydney for 1 day, and most likely will have some leftover AUD. If they only take cash, but also accept AUD, then I wouldn't have to get to an ATM to get NZD before getting on the ferry. When we did the Med. cruise, for example, Turkey, has its own currency, but also accept EUR. And when we did our Mexico cruises, most shops also accept USD. Good to know they accept credit card.
  16. Thank you. I remember around Sept., I read on CC there were quite a few problems reported by CC members who updated their version. Now, another update, and people also reporting problems. So I am thinking if not a "must", maybe I will not update mine until after my April cruise. I have an iPhone 13.
  17. We will be on a Princess cruise (departs in Sydney) in early April with our first port stop in Bay of Islands (9 a.m. - 6 p.m.). I think our tender port will be Waitangi. From readings on various site, we are thinking of spending our time in Paihia and Russell. Here are some questions, any assistance will be appreciated! 1. How often the ferries run from Paihia to Russell? How long is the ride? 2. Where do we buy the ferry tickets? 3. Can we buy the ferry tickets with Visa charge card? If not, is NZ currency the only currency being accepted? If so, then we must find an ATM to get NZ currency before we can take the ferry. 4. What is there to do in Paihia and Russell? 5. Should be spend time in Paihai first, then go to Russell? Or do Russell before Paihai? Thank you in advance for any assistance!!
  18. Do we have to update every time there is an updated version?
  19. Thank you. Still deciding if we should walk (2 of us each have a large 28" and 22" luggage) or take a taxi from our hotel (Four Seasons) to the Princess check-in area on a Tuesday morning in early April.
  20. I checked junk mail, not there. If still no email by tomorrow, I will call them. Thanks.
  21. Yesterday I bought Princess gift cards using my Citi Visa card. In less than 10 minutes, the purchase amount was already showing "pending" in my credit card account, and I got emails from AARP giving me the gift cards' order # and pin #. Around 15 minutes after I made my purchase, my sister used her Capital One credit card and bought Princess gift cards. In about 15 minutes, my sister got an email from Capital One alerting a pending charge was made, and the amount shows as "pending" on her Capital One account. It has been about 24 hours now, and she still haven't received any emails from AARP giving her the order # and pin # of the gift cards. Anyone who purchased Princess gift cards from AARP waited more than 24 hours before receiving emails from AARP on the gift card order # and pin #? Thank you.
  22. Is this the same area that we check in for Princess cruise?
