  1. If they give £500 OBC and folk spent it on things that they would have purchased anyway, it has cost them £500 of lost revenue and saved the purchaser £500 of expenditure. You are £500 up, they are £500 down.
  2. I doubt that DW will leave much change for me to spend.🤣
  3. We have £350 for our 7 night Azura cruise. It will go on restaurants and bars. Money we would have spent anyway. So it will save us £350. Don't care what it costs P&O. We save £350 of our money and get some practice in for October on Iona, when we have £630.😉
  4. We got £350 for our Azura February cruise 7 nights .As we have paid in full I doubt we will get any more. I was having a look at P&O summer cruises this morning. All the big OBC offer seem to have finished. As has our new booking till some comes back.
  5. We are newbies as well. Moved from Putney to Woking in the 1980's. .
  6. We will put ours up in the lounge. No point putting them up in the loft. Nobody will see them.🤔
  7. We had a zoom meeting and agreed that when folk from that London come down to Surrey we will all turn our lights off and close the curtains. We decided to leave on the lights on the A3 .Don't want to cause any harm, just wind them up a bit. Seems the plan is working....Happy Christmas.🥳
  8. Waving ones bottom doesn't sound like a practice that we follow in British holiday camps. We only do that on cruise ships.
  9. Well done you. We open the curtains when we get up and close them when we go to bed. We give the central heating a boost when it gets cold. I put thick socks on yesterday and a 10.5 tog duvet. That should keep the bills down.
  10. I commented on the post that inferred that not having a particular cocktail was important. Not to me it isn't.
  11. We had our works do at a restaurant yesterday, just the 2 of us. I didn't take a picture as I imagine you will all know what a roast turkey dinner looks like. DW likes to keep a check on what we spend, so I don't pay much attention to the cost of stuff. Apparently it costs less to eat out than to turn the oven on. That came as a bit of a surprise to me, but like most Ladies she is seldom wrong.....Apparently. 🤔
  12. We were on Britannia in October. Restaurants couldn't be precooked.
  13. Perhaps for folk who don't drink cocktails don't really care. We have been on 4 P&O cruises and 2 others since lockdown ended and haven't noticed any lack of cocktails.
  14. I use the blue rubber gloves that I pinch from the filling station. I Don't throw them away, but turn them inside out for next time.🤔
  15. Sorry, but we are going from Gatwick with TUI. 10.25 out, 15.50 return. We have booked out seats. We knew which rows TUI classed as extra legroom, so booked those.
  16. Gail isn't too keen on the Epicuruan menu, but we will give Sindhu and the Glass house a bashing, It his her birthday that week so I think she will pick Sindhu. We are on Iona in October with £630 OBC. That will probably go to Sindhu and the Keel and Cow. We are glad you and Pauline enjoyed your cruise. The weather looked good. Fingers crossed for February.
  17. Unfortunately Michelle you won't understand. It a man thing. Does it work. If not shall I get in an expert to fix it, or bugger it up myself.😂
  18. We have a smart meter. It sits in a bowl in a kitchen cupboard. Every few weeks, probably more like a few months, I wonder if it still works. So I plug it in...yep that works OK, so back in the bowl in the cupboard. Is that what you are supposed to do ?.
  19. Tablelamp hasn't got a mobile phone.
  20. Good luck booking anything on board.
  21. I'm reasonable relaxed when folk are learning the ropes, as long as he keeps his thumb out of the soup. Nice to see they are actually getting some more staff at last.
  22. We test the smoke alarm every week. Well it tests itself when I do the cooking. A very timely warning to test them. As Harry said, some dodgy old stuff out there. We upgraded our security with a environmentally friendly system. Not cheap as our burglar Llama need some serious maintenance.
  23. We have booked a superior deluxe balcony on Azura. DW said ' it's got 2 telly's like the one we had on Britannia. Oh what fun I had turning her telly over with the other remote .That was worth the extra.🤣
