  1. One doesn't need the OLife package for non-alcoholic drinks 24/7. They are included in the basic (cruise-only) fare.
  2. https://www.oceaniacruises.com/value#value-packages Click on the beverage packages.
  3. Yes, you pay a corkage fee in the restaurants and dining room. Personal wine is to be consumed only in your stateroom and is not to be taken with you to any public area. Folks who do take it out risk O eliminating its generous personal wine policy. BTW, the stateroom wine glasses are different than the restaurant glasses, so it would be obvious.
  4. Some have reported that they had the wall between the veranda opened, but they are in the very small minority. It's the ship's master's call, as the doors are fire breaks and opening them presents a fire hazard.
  5. We do the same with the free version of Tripit. What are the advantages of the upgrade?
  6. O is not the only premium (it doesn't claim to be luxury) cruise line whose IT services are lacking. It focusses on other areas.
  7. I think you can only swap it for the house red or white. I don’t remember it as being sweet.
  8. Yes, of course. I said " included tours" meaning that.
  9. Yes. O's algorithm automatically selects the highest priced included tours first, leaving the rest subject to the YWC discount.
  10. Technically, the licensed guide provides a group visa. Our reservation in St Petersburg served that purpose when we were there for disembarkation, and since we had a multiple day tour (docked for overnights), we go a special document that let us disembark on subsequent days. But that was then...it may have changed.
  11. “Good luck lies in odd numbers ... They say, there is divinity in odd numbers, either in nativity, chance, or death.” —Shakespeare: Merry Wives of Windsor. v. 1. 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷
  12. Also interested in a verified answer, since my interpretation of using a phone as a hotspot is the same as yours.
  13. If you use one, your TA can make the register your preferences in advance.
  14. Sounds like you did the math, and given what you said, I think you made the right decision. The basic package of about $20 per day per person is only for wine and beer with meals in dining venues, The $70 per day per person prestige package allow for drinks all day in any venue. We can't possible drink enough to make the prestige package worthwhile. Besides, there is a 2 for 1 happy hour daily from 5 to 6 pm in the bars which includes all drinks on the regular bar menu.
  15. I'm not so sure about @vaitape's strategy. While I agree that O's communication skills are lacking, to tell passengers that they are going to skip a port but don't have the alternatives worked out yet would be quite unsettling to many. The anguish over the uncertainty of not knowing is not really relieved but just redirected, and for some that anxiety may be heightened. I think they feel it's better to have the new itinerary in place before starting all sorts of speculation and discord. It ain't easy to please everyone.
  16. And just for comparison, T-Mobile's Magenta Max 55+ plan (which is what we have ) is $90 per month for 2 lines, including all taxes and fees, for unlimited text, talk and high speed data. The plan includes unlimited text and talk in both Canada and Mexico, with 5GB of high speed data (per line), and reduced speed after 5GB. For other international calling, it's unlimited text, up to 5GB (per line) of high speed data, then unlimited data low speed, and talk at $0.25/minute in 215 countries. It includes 40 GB of high speed mobile hotspot data (per line), then unlimited mobile hotspot data at 3G over 40 GB. The plan also includes WiFi calling.
  17. In the past they have been color-coded. Just get new ones at the port.
  18. If the bookings open on May 22, that means they open at 12:00 am on May 22, Eastern Time. So aim for 12:01 am ET on May 22. So you need to convert to your time zone. In this context, midnight is considered to start the day.
  19. It sound like the person on the cruise air forum is confusing the air credit one can get if you decline O's air as opposed to air included.
  20. You do have to remember that when the price is reduced, so is the TA's commission, potentially impacting what perks a Ta can provide.
  21. Boy, are you pessimistic. Guess those of us close to 80 should give up. 😉
  22. There is an option of $15,000 per year cancellation/interruption coverage in Allianz's annual policy. We have that version, which along with our CC insurance, gives us pretty good coverage for any trip.
