  1. I was on the Sunshine in January and they would not even let us get one. We were denied and told to go to muster first. We boarded early so I was surprised. I would have expected that if we boarded later.
  2. I will be doing this itinerary the first week of October. Did you spend any time in the casino? How crowded? Comedy shows? Do you know who the comedians were?
  3. I am considering it. I found an Embassy Suites with a shuttle to and from the airport and I have looked at the Carnival shuttle. That is definitely an option! We are also debating renting 2 mini vans to get to the port and then the Carnival shuttle back to LAX after the cruise.
  4. Thank you! I will definitely do that.
  5. I know I am too early for the shuttle scheduling but I always book my hotel rooms early. I have had my preferred hotel sell out when I waited to long before. I have thought about stying in the LAX area. If we do that we want somewhere we can walk around. Any suggestions would be great!
  6. Well, we were planning on staying at the Hotel Maya for our cruise in June 2023. When I tried to book our rooms, it is requiring a 2 night stay. It is definitely too expensive to book 2 nights when we only need on. I would prefer to book a Hilton affiliated hotel because we have points to use. Any suggestions from people in that area? Also looking for recommendations for transportation from LAX to hotel and hotel to port. We have 7-9 of us going so Uber/Lyft not our best option.
  7. This was our plan but now the Hotel Maya will not let us book a one night stay on Friday night next June. It is requiring a 2 night stay minimum.
  8. I had a similar issue. Since I arranged my own transportation from the terminal to the airport at the end of the cruise, I just changed everyone to driving. It really did not matter for us. If you are using Carnival transportation to and from the airport you will have to enter the flight information.
  9. At $3.50 a load to wash and another $3.50 to dry, you may need a few rolls, lol.
  10. We had a similar situation in March. We booked 4 people in a suite and one could not go. The email I received showed a cancellation fee of $199 which was the fare for the 4th person. We did get the port fees and taxes back as a credit on my credit card.
  11. We were just approved on an RU2 rate so hopefully you will have some luck.
  12. You should receive a confirmation email. Also, when you look at your booking order details and then invoice details it will show the OBC.
  13. I agree. We have stayed there and are booked again for our cruise in October. There is a ton of restaurants in the area. There is also a grocery store about two blocks away if you need to purchase soda or anything that you may have forgotten.
  14. Do you know how far in advance you can book an appointment? I think this is going to be the best method for us as well.
  15. To share my experience: Applied last night for a cruise scheduled in October. It was a reduced fare booked under the RU2 cheers promotion. Received approval and $100 OBC this morning.
  16. We sent my sons passport off on May 17th and received notification that it is in the mail on the way back to us. We did not expedite but did normal service. So 7 week turnaround. We leave on October 1st.
  17. I cancelled an excursion while on board the Legend in March and it showed up as OBC on my statement. I cancelled an excursion for my October cruise and it took about 5 days to show up as a credit on my credit card.
  18. If flying into Fort Lauderdale is an option to use you companion passes, then that is also a good place for a cruise out of Miami. It is a little further away but still a great option. Flight prices for me are always drastically better there so that is were we typically fly in to. I too am partial to the 8 night option and love Amber Cove as a relaxing day.
  19. I double checked everything. I stand corrected. I did receive one of the Austrailain Casino offers.
  20. I pay for everything on our cruises. I spend more time and money in the casino (slots and tables), purchase from the Cherry on Top and gift shops. Yet, my husband (plays table minimally) gets all the casino offers. I have never received one and have been on eight cruises. Makes absolutely no sense.
  21. What rooms were you in? We are in that area for our cruise in October.
  22. When I went from Baltimore in March, the earliest check in time was 12pm. They do have to clear the parking lot. The ship came in late on our boarding day and it really messed up everything. They held everyone except 12pm and 12:30pm boarders outside. They were told to go back to their cars and wait. It was about 1:30pm by the time we actually got on the ship. Definitely a different experience then other ports we have debarked from.
  23. I had a few gift cards with partial balances for my trip in March. I was able to go to the kiosk and apply them to my account. I did not go to guest services so I am not sure if they would have added then or not.
  24. My daughter had the opposite issue. Vaccine card in her maiden name and all the rest of her paperwork and reservations in married name. Carnival told her to bring the bridging document. She was not able to use verifly because they did not match. She took her paper documents with no issues. The rest of us used verifly and really liked the ease of it.
