  1. Onboard Onward in June Captain Gianmario announced on day two that an undisclosed number of crew had Covid and were isolating. That was the last we ever heard of Covid for the remaining nine days.
  2. Pursuit has UK sockets as well.
  3. I am reliably informed (by the hairdryer user) the hairdryers on Onward are excellent and do not need to have the button held down. Can't help re the nozzles.
  4. Head chef on board Onward during June was Dhani Linboo
  5. Try a Martin Millers Gin and Fever Tree tonic (with lime), that was my eureka moment. I have no problem with Schweppes, but the above combination is on a different scale.
  6. The Azamara Energiser juice is a clear winner. If you are looking for cure at breakfast time, look no further. There is orange juice, apple juice, ginger, turmeric and a few other secret ingredients. Definitely worth looking out for. If it doesn't work, check out one of Ruby's early morning cocktails for a hair of the dog.
  7. Thanks for the update, I'll pass it on.
  8. Ann, did you have to make the journey to the Co-Op in Lerwick? I doing a check for my sister and BIL who embark on their first Az onboard Quest on the 30th August, and I've warned her to visit any well known retailer in Southampton before boarding.
  9. On a visit to the dentist yesterday we were comparing travel and airline difficulties. Our AZ cruise in June had 5 flight amendments and delayed baggage for 5 days on the return leg. My dentist returned home from Athens, via Amsterdam and her bags have not been returned/forwarded after two weeks. Her husband's and children's bags were received after three days. She cannot claim on her insurance until the bags have been missing for three full weeks. I also heard on Saturday of a traveller from Belfast who had returned home via Heathrow and not received their bags for three days. In frustration he then booked a flight back to Heathrow were he approached the luggage desk and proved he could find his bags with the use of Apple AirTags which he had in his luggage.. He was escorted in the baggage area were he retrieved his bags and the rebooked them in for the return flight to Belfast and they made the Belfast bound flight. Its a lot of effort to get your bags back.
  10. 😂😂 I'm still trying to work out what 'Hard Cider' is
  11. Yes, Strongbow is the only cider available, its described as a 'hard' cider. They've obviously never heard of Magners 🙈
  12. I'm quite partial to a dark beer or two myself, in fact the darker the better, especially the one that is brewed in Dublin. I could never warm to Newcastle Brown, its far too sweet for my taste buds, so when we were on onboard Onward let month in sweltering temperature an ice cold Carlsberg was quite palatable.
  13. Did you drink Becks from bottles or was it on draft? My question was about Carlsberg replacing Newcastle Brown ale as the complimentary draft on Quest and Pursuit
  14. Carlsberg has definitely replaced Newcastle Brown on Journey as well. Not sure about Quest or Pursuit.
  15. Thanks for sharing. My only observation re the Complimentary drinks is that on both Journey and Onward Carlsberg on draught has replaced Newcastle Brown. I'm not sure about Quest or Pursuit, maybe you can help?
  16. They have two Irish whiskeys on board, Jameson and the oldest whiskey in the world, good old 'Bushmills'. They used to carry Black Bush, it's more of an acquired taste.
  17. Galway is a relatively small city, so I would imagine the tenders will get you as near to the centre as possible.
  18. Funny thing happened tonight. We had a bottle of Poggiotondo Chianti, and the advisor could not stop sneezing, and I was reminded that none of the wines served onboard Onward caused her to sneeze! She even as much said, they were better wines on the ship. I'm not sure.
  19. I could have done it for you yesterday, as we were chatting to him for five minutes before departure. We are home now minus our bags, thank you BA!
  20. Au contraire, I thought they were better, maybe less choice but an overall improvement.
  21. Just home from our debut onboard Onward. When catching up with Eric, I did make a comment 'there has been a lot of changes" and he replied "and a lot more to come'. The following day we heard of Heike's departure, when I later mentioned this to Eric he described it as 'sad' but wouldn't get drawn on. it.
  22. I did check with Elro, the one bottle rather than the four half bottles is a trial. However it is one bottle of one type of spirit only.
  23. I’ll ask Elro and report back.
