  1. Suite guests can dine in Blu if there is room. If you book an Aqua suite than you have a choice of both restaurants.
  2. What happens if you have to cancel the cruise before final payment? How do you get refunded?
  3. They lost me on the Edge class with the infinite balcony. Princess lost me to Celebrity with the tiny Royal class balcony but at least it's a balcony. I'm returning to Princess in 2026. At that point it will be 12yrs since I sailed on Princess. Unless an S class ship is sailing a similar itinerary in the Med I'll stick with Princess.
  4. It's not the fact that there are kids on board but the fact that they add to the passenger load. The nice thing about Aqua class is there are only 2 in the room which basically eliminates kids dining in Blu and the restaurant isn't crowed and chaotic.
  5. I checked the price of the move up which was $210 each for the lowest bid. Before I bid I did a mock booking to see what rooms were left in Aqua class, found one I liked and called Celebrity to see how much to up grade. It only cost me $88 total with tax to up grade both of us. Basically I paid the difference between the Prime Concierge class room I booked and the current price of a Prime Aqua class room. That bidding system is the biggest scam they have. It's right up there with Park West Art Auction. Every time I check the lowest bid it would have been cheaper to book the higher category to begin with. It's run by a third party that must be paid by commission from the bids.
  6. No I just got back and lunch wasn't available because we had cruise cards that were marked Aqua class and Aqua color.
  7. I know Expedia took your money but did Celebrity Cruises show up on the credit card statement or Expedia. Expedia is a national company so I think they are trust worthy. It's when you book with a Mom and Pop agency and you make payment directly to the agency that there could be an issue, should the agency go out of business or just be fraudulent. As I understand it Celebrity refunded your money so they got payment either directly from your credit card or was paid through Expedia. Either way, how could payment be made without a reservation? One has to ask were did your payment post to?
  8. I would like to point out that originally I had booked Concierge class and upgraded to Aqua at the last minute. When we arrived and went to the buffet I almost regretted my decision because the buffet was the typical zoo on embarkation day. Later in the week on a sea day we ate lunch in the MDR. Service was horrible. I asked for a bottle of sparkling water (we had the premium drink package) The waiter returned with a giant bottle of water and no glass. I had to drink the free water just so I would have a glass to pour the sparkling water into. I ordered the NY strip steak medium rare. It came well done and tough as leather. My wife's hamburger was the same. They made us order dessert when we ordered the meal and never came back to check on us or bring the dessert. If this is any indication of what the food and service has become in the MDR I can only sail in Aqua class now which will mean less cruises. The burgers were better at the grill and the food was better in the buffet.
  9. I think they were on Royal Caribbean. "Our last Royal cruise". Royal has been one of my 3 go to lines with Celebrity and Princess being the other two. I know what I'm signing up for when I sail with Royal. With that said I don't sail on anything larger than an Anthem class ship. I'm not trying to walk 3 football fields to get someplace.
  10. If everything stayed the same, the price and itinerary was right I would definitely book an adult only cruise. Even when my kids were school age we pulled them out of school for a week in may just to avoid spring break and summer vacation time. I have a mediterranean cruise booked for mid May 2026 on Princess hoping to avoid to avoid a lot of kids and summer tourists.
  11. This class system is popping up on all main cruise lines and to be honest I always thought Cunard was the leader. We have never sailed in a suite and Aqua Class was the closest we came to being segregated from the steerage class as Blu is perk for that class. With that said I never feel like steerage class on Celebrity. What annoys me about these special venues is that nobody uses them. Michaels was empty the entire time on my resent sailing on Reflection and in the theater nobody showed up for the reserved seats. I know this because we arrived 10 minutes late to the 7:00 show and entered on deck 5 were the reserved section was and it was empty. To be fair the steerage seats were better on deck 4 which is where we sat every night after that. During the day on a sea day the retreat was also empty. It seems like the only plus for booking a better room is the dining experience. Blu is a step up from the main dining room in both service food quality.
  12. Discount on wi-fi packages and upgrades + complimentary premium minutes. It probably should read 30% discount Or 90 minutes. Not ON.
  13. We did the 4 night cruise stopping at Key West and Bimini. We took the Conch train to explore Key West. It's a hop on hop off ride. We did the short historic tour 4 stops $90 for the 2 of us. It's about an hour and a half depending on how many stops you get off at and how long you stay. There are shops, restaurants and museums in walking distance from the ship. Bimini we were off the ship at 9:30 and back on the ship by 11:00. There is nothing there. We took the free shuttle to Resort World and decided that $55 a person was too much money for Florida residents to pay for a beach day. Fishermans village is a shopping center with no stores worthwhile shopping in. My wife bought a pair of ugly sunglasses for $10. She decided to wear contacts that morning and never packed sunglasses. She has clip ons for all of her prescription glasses. They hound you to rent golf carts like they hound you to braid your hair in Nassau. I don't know where you go with these golf carts because there is nothing worthwhile to see. We stopped off at the free beach on the way back to the ship. $60 buys you 2 chairs and an umbrella. We decided to just go in the water dry off and go back to the ship. There were food trucks there. I can check Bimini off the list now and don't ever have to return. A better Itinerary would be Key West and Coco Cay which I would consider next year for a quick get away.
  14. Blu only serves breakfast and dinner. We ate breakfast in Blu every morning including the last morning before disembarkation. It's a great way to start the day.
  15. Good question. The only way this can happen is if the travel agent takes the payment directly and sends it to Celebrity. I would never book with an agent that collects the fee this way. I would only deal with an agent that processes the payment directly with the cruise line. Your card statement should read Celebrity Cruises not Expedia or any other agency name. Since Celebrity did give the refund directly to the passenger I would assume that they did receive the money directly.
  16. I just don't see the Princess demographic being Vapers. They are more of the boomer tobacco generation which is evident in the casino. I can see this being more of an issue on Carnival, NCL, and Royal Caribbean.
  17. I just got off of Celebrity Reflections. What a pleasure to be in the casino without the smoke. Unfortunately it didn't change my luck. I don't know where the smoking section was but I never ran in to it.
  18. Our boarding time last week was at 11:30. We arrived at 11:00. We had Express Check in and the line to scan carry on luggage was empty so we got through rather quickly. The place was packed with passengers but we were on the ship quickly without a long wait because they started boarding at 11:30. I no longer rush to get to the terminals. They did have face recognition in customs on disembarkation day. We were on the road by 8:15. We drive to port so we were one of the last groups called off of the ship. The longest wait we had all week was the 45 minute wait we had for the elevator on the last day. We didn't even make it to the lounge were you have to wait to be called. I put my wife in the elevator as it could only fit one more person and I walked down the stairs from deck 11 with the other carry on luggage.
  19. Wow. I can't believe they have Prime Concierge rooms in this location. That's where Aqua rooms are on other ships. The only reason I booked Concierge was because of the prime room location. The perks don't make or break the trip. I would even book Concierge guarantee knowing that there really weren't any bad rooms as they were always sandwiched between floors with rooms and not over or under public areas. I go out of my way not to book E class just because of the Infinity Verandas. I will book on Princess or Royal Caribbean for a similar itinerary before I book E Class.
  20. What ship is this? Normally Concierge class rooms are in better locations and not above or below public spaces. Aqua class is always in the worst locations of the ship.
  21. Boomer music. Rebel was a 3 man vocal rock group sang songs from the 70's to present day. This was my first time on a cruise that I didn't hear A Train or String of Pearls. My only complaint is I'm done with Feeling Hot Hot Hot on Caribbean itineraries.
  22. I'm 64 and would consider Virgin for a Caribbean cruise which is a festive, fun itinerary by nature filled with beach days. Europe is itinerary intense and the main reason for the sailing. For those I would go with Celebrity or Princess.
  23. Yes I agree. I was on Reflection deck 11 midship, two decks below the Sparkle party they had on our sailing. No vibration but like any other music during the day you could hear it when you sat on the balcony and even that wasn't unbearable. This was the first time on Celebrity that I actually enjoyed the entertainment. It's finally not my parents cruise line. I'm 64.
  24. We live in driving distance to port so it was easy for us and we plan on doing more 4 nights in the future. I can't believe how many I met from Canada and others from the northeast who flew in. I would have never done that when I lived in NY.
  25. 40 year retail career. It is all cheaper on land. Those Invicta watches can be purchased at TJ Maxx for a fraction of the price. No fake sale needed.
