  1. There is no set standard practice. There are travel agents who typically only provide their invoice as you are booking through them. I prefer the practice where both their invoice along with the cruise line's invoice are provided. In the long run, the only paper trail that matters is the one from the cruise line, and IMO providing both is just a good business practice confirming correct transactions with the cruise line as well. We always have both provided as a result with our bookings. If there are separate land or air travel in addition to the cruise, the travel agent invoice may be all that is provided for that. But confirmation numbers relative to the air carrier and other land travel providers should be included IMO.
  2. .....which is what I said as well in response to another poster who indicated they thought they had sailed out of Baltimore on Summit.
  3. I don't think the system is frozen. Pending means just that and can remain in that status until something drives a change in that status. The suggestions made by others regarding tracking your status are good ways to see if there has been a change. And just to confirm MoveUp is managed by a third party, not Celebrity.
  4. Agree. Their lease there runs through 2050. Very sad situation but one that hopefully will find resolution sooner than later, not so much for RCL's sake, but for the people of the country.
  5. Or maybe RCCL Grandeur, which was based out of Baltimore for a number of years and was a ship on which we sailed from there twice. Summit for many years until this year was based out of Port Elizabeth, Bayonne.
  6. Interesting. Still showing Labadee as you said. Grand Turk would seem likely instead to maintain the rest of the itinerary. I guess if they could do CocoCay as well on 3/31 then head to DR. I guess just keep waiting and watching.
  7. Those listed as mentioned. They are typically financial organizations or banks and not directly affiliated with, or sponsored by, specific programs or corporations, such as American Airlines, Marriott, Celebrity, etc., whose benefits are specific to those organizations.
  8. I see very little difference between the two other than 6308 is on the end next to the angled deck Sunset Sky Suite. So I guess I would take that one to provide a better side view with the angled deck next door. Aft facing staterooms are among our favorites and we choose them from time to time. Like the view and have not had any noise or soot issues. (Soot, if and when it occurs, is a result of the incinerators burning trash, which is periodic and can be affected by wind conditions). Deck 6 is the lowest stateroom deck and is above Tuscan Grill, but that won't be an issue. We prefer higher decks and would typically select one between 9 - 11. (12 is directly under Oceanview Cafe, which possibly may result in some noise issues during the dining hours). The bed is configured to your request, with the default typically being king. They can be separated if you prefer.
  9. It could be boarding day, but that is not typical. It can be anytime from booking until then. In our experience it usually is a couple of weeks prior to sailing.
  10. If you booked with a refundable deposit, you can cancel at anytime prior to final payment without penalty. If you booked with a non-refundable deposit you can change your booking to another for a fee (typically $100 pp). You only loose your deposit with an NRD if you cancel. What is your sailing date and ship? Not defending anything, but as to knowing in advance, they are currently in the midst of rearranging all itineraries affected with this development over the recent weeks. This can be quite a task. Your itinerary just may not yet have been finalized. Hopefully it will be a favorable change.
  11. There are terms and conditions regarding securing blocks of rooms. Certain programs require a small deposit amount due on all staterooms booked within a certain period of time, sold or not. Others require only the full deposit as sold, but at a different timeframe. There are also guidelines on how many can be held. If the T's & C's are not met by specified date they are taken back by the cruise lines and all unsold staterooms are returned at a certain date as well. Another "cost" with unsold staterooms is lost sales for the TA's. So they are not secured without cost or risk. Cruise lines promote group blocks as a way to help assure full cruise sales. But with as many cruise ships as there are sailing each week with as many staterooms as there are available, it is a win-win.
  12. Ditto what @MrBill923 and @Whizbank said. We got it with the same offer a month or so ago an have a couple of upcoming cruises with final payment and a deposit due that fit nicely with the timing of this. For the sake of some decent OBC it is a nice backup card to our other non-affiliated card. Just as a side note a number of years ago when RCCL introduced their card we signed up, and working at the time, I used it exclusively for my business travel expenses. After a couple of years the then point structure provided us with a fully paid 7-night cruise for two in a balcony stateroom. Don't think the benefits are quite as generous now but it worked well then.
  13. Good points. Maybe the price matching time period clause is what is meant by the T & C stating that it is only valid at the time of booking?
  14. There can be differences with price drops pre and post final payment. Frequently, those that occur post final payment carry the caveat that they are for new bookings only. Not sure how Best Price Guarantee is impacted by that. BPG also carries the condition that savings options vary by whether or not the request is submitted pre or post final payment. UK conditions say that it is only valid at the time of booking - not sure how to interpret that. I think all you can do is call to find out.
  15. Just so you are aware there are several similar threads out since Celebrity started canceling Labadee as a port of call. Labadee has been closed for a while and RCCL has been rescheduling that port of call for a number of weeks now. Celebrity is now catching up with their itineraries and it seems this week in particular there have been a lot of notifications. Most RCCL itineraries are replacing Labadee with ports of call in Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, Dominican Republic, and CocoCay, and possibly others, or an extra day at sea. It appears as though Celebrity is following suit similarly. Going out as far as April '25 seems consistent with RCCL and IMO may be smart to assure long enough planning for the alternative ports of call. Hopefully the issues in Haiti will find resolution by then, and if sooner perhaps we may see changes in itineraries back to there. Only time will tell, I guess.
  16. Thanks for clarifying - have not sailed from Rotterdam and that is good to know.
  17. Agree that it certainly can't hurt to try. But there are some differences in policies between the US and UK bookings. Don't know if any of that would apply with price drops. I would be curious to hear of your outcome. Good luck!
  18. In our experience it is always grouped and I assume put out in tag order. Are you saying that Rotterdam's terminal area is too small to handle all the luggage at once and therefore set out by tag number in cycle? If so, that would seem to be a somewhat unique terminal, but would then make sense to disembark in queue by tag number.
  19. That's where I see the issue. Right now the existing convenient and serviceable terminal only serves 3 (?) small to mid-size ships a week from 3 (?) cruise lines. I realize Port Elizabeth in Bayonne is similar to this, but the ship classes that serve that port have 2 - 3 times the passenger volume. Building a terminal area may also require port considerations and IMO would need to be able to attract additional cruise lines along with bigger ships. You would also have to consider ship resupply logistics, fuel barges, funding, and have the approval of the local community, which may be an issue. Just don't think its very feasible IMO.
  20. Like Annapolis area?? Not very likely at all. Especially if the goal is only to accommodate larger cruise ships.
  21. It is also unlikely that they would reposition a ship for a relatively short period of time. Not impossible, but unlikely IMO. But regardless, as mentioned the ships would have to have clearance with the second bridge as that would be the new limiting factor should the new bridge be built with higher clearance.
  22. I just want to reinforce this. As an option, regardless of potential website issues, we usually call (and always call Captains Club if there is a tier benefit to compare that pricing v planner sale pricing) to confirm best pricing and place orders. Especially if we had already placed an on line planner order and prices change favorably. Everything is immediate and email confirmations are sent while on the phone.
  23. I am not challenging this, but In our experience the sequence of disembarkation by tag number is not generally enforced, other than with self disembarkation and first tag numbers, and our luggage has always been in the terminal awaiting us regardless of when we disembarked. Unless the ship is delayed getting into port, docking is usually completed a few hours prior to first disembarkation and luggage begins to be removed immediately. By the time self disembarkation is completed the luggage removal is typically also completed. We have never had to wait based on tag number for our luggage to arrive. Just our experience.
  24. That would be determined as you indicate by a phone call. I have not had direct experience with that and have heard comments regarding results both ways. I know the policy is to prevent sharing but may be based on individual circumstances regarding alcohol consumption. Call and ask.
