  1. I should add that this lot is a dedicated parking facility for Terminal 18, so getting a spot should not be any problem as no other terminal shares the space.
  2. I know what you mean and not being critical but saying the cruise is cancelled is a bit misleading as it is now a revised itinerary with different ports of call. But to your point they did the right thing in adjusting to the new itinerary early. Should give everyone booked plenty of time to determine the best options for them. This is happening frequently with different cruise lines with plans for that region. Not at all diminishing the impact to the people of the region, but this is very unfortunate and causing a lot of headaches for the cruise lines and passengers alike with the complexities involved with major changes such as this. I hope this works out for you and you enjoy your cruise.
  3. Yeah the info I read said sometime in December of 2023 - removed from 13 ships. My original post referring to them at Latte-tudes was out of date and incorrect.
  4. With bookings made post final payment the full fare typically is due within a few days of the booking. Post final payment fares are also non-refundable. With any cancelation post final payment, the fare penalties affect the full payment made and are scaled by when the cancelation is made. Based on this and when the cancelation is made, you can loose some or all of your full fare paid. You need to confirm your insurance coverage and any exclusions or limits of coverage with late bookings.
  5. But this is not automatic and you will have to call whomever you book through to get it repriced.
  6. The parking at Port Everglades Terminal 18 is an open lot - not a garage. And it takes a while to fill as it holds quite a number of cars.
  7. Yes, there typically are enough around the deck. But as just mentioned by @bouhunterthey are more likely now chairs.
  8. It is an open secure lot, not a garage. Used it more than once and it is very convenient, Literally a 50 foot walk from the entrance to the terminal. Once in Port Everglades follow the signs to Terminal 18 and the parking lot is right there next to the building.
  9. OP says they will have their own car. Parking at Terminal 18 is the easiest place to use.
  10. There is a parking lot 50 feet from the terminal entrance that is very convenient and reasonably priced. Terminal 18 is the pier used by RCCL for Oasis. Do a google maps search and you will be able to see the parking lot adjacent to the building.
  11. If I am incorrect perhaps someone will correct me, but I do no believe so as from the cruise line's perspective, these are just separate following itineraries on which you happen to be booked. I know that they will assist with a rapid reprocessing of customs and immigration, and may have a lounge open for you to wait in while the ship is cleared. But other than that I am not aware of anything else done as special attention during the cruises. If you are changing staterooms with any of the cruises, they will assist in moving you to the new stateroom.
  12. You may well be correct. Just checked and as of December of 2023 B & J's relationship ended and it was removed from 13 of the ships. Maybe the rest never had them?
  13. I think both cruise lines serve good purposes for their intended demographics. Our kids grew up with us cruising on RCCL, which was our intended cruise line of choice for the atmosphere on board that catered to families. As they became adults, we shifted our preferences to Celebrity for the opposite reasons that originally had us attracted to RCCL We still cruise RCCL as the the occasion may call for with our extended family or a given itinerary. But of the two, our primary line of choice is Celebrity to now avoid what once was attractive on RCCL.
  14. First, there are no "discount" cruise resellers as the cruise lines don't discount their published fares to travel agents. What you likely received was a group rate offered through the cruise line to the travel agent or one derived from a block of rooms booked by them. They are not published by the cruise lines and are only available through a travel agent. Either way it doesn't matter, just wanted to clarify the price you received. Your booking number should provide you with a cruise planner for your sailing on the RCCL website. That will provide you with the opportunity to pre-purchase drink packages, wifi, specialty dining, and excursions for your cruise if desired. You can choose My Time Dining as your option to avoid preset times if desired. That allows you the flexibly to go to the dining room when you want. The buffet is also an open dining option. Unless you elect to prepay them gratuities will be automatically charged to your room account daily to be settled at the end of the cruise via a credit card. Air arrangements can be made through Air2Sea with RCCL. I would contact whomever you booked with to arrange this, transfers, and any of the other things mentioned as that is part of their responsibility to you when booking through them.
  15. While I completely agree with your comments, I think one significant difference for those to whom this might matter is the amount of children of all ages on board RCCL v Celebrity. We have experienced both cruise lines extensively and can say from experience that RCCL can have children numbers in the 1,000's on board v Celebrity in the 100's (or less).
  16. Simple and as a general comparison: RCCL's primary target demographics is families and their ships are set up with multiple amusement park type venues to accommodate that. And most of their ships are mega ships with passenger capacities between 3,500 and 6,500 people. Celebrity is just the opposite with their primary target demographics being adults 45ish+ and their ships have none of the amusement type venues to accommodate that. Most of their ships are mid sized by comparison with passenger capacities less than 3,000 people.
  17. I get it and have not been on "E" class ships yet. But I can't imagine it would be any different. Enjoy your cruise.
  18. Don't know why Beyond would be any different than any other ship, but when set in WiFi calling mode on Eclipse last month with the Premium package all calls incoming and outgoing could be made as well as texts. That is one of the primary reasons we choose the Premium package is to facilitate phone calls and texts from home. You just have to have it set in airplane mode with WiFi calling enabled once connected to the ship WiFi.
  19. I should clarify that along with complimentary snacks, Cafe Latte-tudes also has specialty coffees and Ben & Jerry's ice cream for a fee.
  20. On Vision the complimentary dining is the Main Dining Room, Windjammer Buffet, Park Cafe, and Cafe Latte-tudes. Chops, Giovanni's, Izumi, and Chef's Table are for a charge.
  21. It is not like it once was. While still suggested as formal nights, they are optional and not enforced, and it seems in our experience as though most people no longer dress as formally as they used to. Typically those who want photographs or just enjoy dressing formally are the ones most commonly doing so, but most people don't follow that tradition anymore.
  22. Don't know why it wouldn't be. There are staterooms above and below, which mean no public venues come into play. Staterooms sandwiched between staterooms on decks above and below are always preferred for potential noise issues. The only concerns would be if you are sensitive to motion, as the forward most staterooms will feel the up and down motion of the ship the most. There also may be times at docking when the bow thrusters, and the possibility of anchors being lowered at tender ports, where noise from those operations can be heard during the process.
  23. Our experience is similar to that mentioned by @Biker19 that with a typical 4 PM departure, but the early afternoon of the next day the weather is very comfortable off the Carolina's. As to sea conditions, there is no way to predict as we have done two winter sailings out of Cape Liberty and one was very calm and the other had heavy seas on the return. Based on sailing on three NYE cruises there will most definitely be a party celebrating the night on board, and likely activities in more than one location.
  24. When you prebook your shows you are only reserving that particular show time, not specific seats. The venues are open general seating and arriving early would assure you getting a seat where you want. The theaters are very large and seating is plentiful. The only way to have reserved seating is if you purchase the Key or are a higher tier Crown & Anchor member, and a section typically in theater in the back of the balcony is set aside as an option for you. That section also opens to the general public 10 minutes prior to the show time. This would be the case with reserved sections in the main theater, aqua theater, and ice show. With your dining package, when you first book it a placeholder reservation is made automatically for the 1st or 2nd night at a given restaurant. When you board, just go to any of the specialty restaurants and the maître d can arrange reservations for the week at any of the restaurants for you, including changing the placeholder if desired. This is a simple process and takes about 10 minutes. Just keep checking the planner for when the shows open for reservations for the main theater, aqua theater, ice show, and comedy show. Again, dates and times are all you are reserving. As to "best seats" that is a personal choice, but with all of the venues mentioned we like the reserved seating areas as we have that option. In the main theater, as mentioned, that is the back section of the balcony. In the aqua theater that would be the top rear section, and in the ice show it is the first few rows center ice. But that is only our preference.
  25. The drink prices aren't listed as the packages, as indicated, are based on the brand levels of alcohol used in the drinks. The price threshold for each package is a guideline based on the most common and typical drinks that would be made within each category based on the alcohol brands provided. Should a given drink due to the complexity of the mix or brands that may be required to be used to make it exceed that threshold, you would be advised and, if ok, then charged the difference for that drink. If "well liquor" alcohol brands and the lower to mid level wines and more limited beer selections are suitable for you, then the classic package will be fine and you will likely never exceed the price threshold for your day to day selections. The Premium package just expands both the variety of the types of alcohol and their level of quality by including most of the "top shelf" brands in the groups. Virtually any drink using any specified brand of alcohol can be made with a higher price threshold. We have never had a drink made with this package the exceeded this level. Wine brands and selection as well as beer choices are significantly expanded and improved with this package. A simple example would be that with the Classic package, a vodka and tonic would be made with Smirnoff vodka as an option, whereas with the Premium package it would be made with Gray Goose as an option. And with the Classic package if you ordered it with Gray Goose you would be charged the difference. That is when drink prices would come into play. The key is don't try to focus on drink prices as that really is irrelevant, but instead study the brands and selection of alcohol offered in the Classic package to determine if there is enough variety with the cocktails you normally would consume to be acceptable to you with those brand selections. If so, then that is the correct package for you. And as mentioned, mixers are not broken out separately and are part of drink mixes as required. Soda's, etc.., are shown as full cans are part of the choices you have to consume.
