  1. I can't answer for the spas as we've never purchased anything there. But adding a service charge to an item purchased in the spa IMO would be ridiculous. There is no service charges added to any other onboard store purchases. Forced additional charges (other than legitimate taxes) not related to a retail item itself IMO is disgraceful. At sea or on land.
  2. There is absolutely no noise from the pools on any aft facing stateroom. They are literally hundreds of feet away. And as previously mentioned, allowing one passenger deck between your stateroom deck and any public deck eliminates any direct noise concerns from any activities there.
  3. If you were to add an additional gratuity and did not do so in cash, it would be charged to your stateroom account and any OBC on the account would be credited towards the payment. As that is typically ship sponsored OBC, they would pay the gratuity instead of you. IMO that would be the better option. But I also agree that if a gratuity is added to the charge, I would not feel the need to add more.
  4. Purchases we've made with ship sponsored OBC and then canceled had the OBC credit applied to the planner immediately. When we've done this over the phone, for instance, the credit and confirmation email appeared before we hung up. We have canceled purchases on line and then repurchased at the lower price in the same transaction.
  5. As @Liao suggests, whomever you booked through should be able to provide you with a Celebrity booking confirmation that will show all monies received by way of initial deposits as well as any payments made to date. It will also show you final payment date and amount due. The total cost of the cruise as well as Flights by Celebrity reservations and flight costs will be itemized. Any OBC issue will also be indicated. No planner or other separately paid charges for dining package, excursions, etc., will be shown.
  6. Never had one of those in any of my staterooms in 50+ cruises. Guess I've just been lucky.
  7. Most cruise lines will allow a stateroom to be held for a couple of days without any financial transaction. If this TA cannot present a final actual price of the stateroom you are booking confirmed by a cruise line booking confirmation then I would seek another travel agent. The above described practice is done every day. Even without a stateroom being held the TA can confirm in writing the final total stateroom price without you placing a booking with them. Once you transfer a booking to a TA it can be difficult to take it away and have him transfer it to someone else. You would just have to cancel and rebook elsewhere. Just be sure before you transfer anything if there are any cancelation or change restrictions by the cruise line for making any changes. Also there are some TA's who charge extra fees not charged by the cruise line for changing or canceling a booking made through them. Ask first, and IMO I would avoid any TA that does this.
  8. A great neutral pick between port and starboard! Different cruse line, but we are also in an aft facing stateroom for our upcoming 2025 transatlantic. Always a preferred choice with us on any cruise or cruise line.
  9. You are correct in the they share some similarity in features. And not criticizing but to be accurate for the OP, Anthem is 135ft. longer, 34 ft. wider, and 38,000 gross tons greater than Edge. It also has a maximum passenger capacity of over 2,900 more passengers than Edge - essentially double. Other than with similar looks and design features, they are not at all close in size. Although Edge has the Magic Carpet, which is completely unique to that ship class.
  10. If I were booking a sky suite on that ship the aft corner location would be my first choice. As to your question regarding others experiences with that stateroom, you might try searching this Celebrity board for reviews:
  11. Call Celebrity to have your reservations linked, and then have one party book the day and time you want for all.
  12. Agree pretty much with everything mentioned by @Georgia_Peaches with the exception of the aft staterooms. While they do offer less shade as the structure of the ship slopes outward as the deck numbers go lower, the view from the aft is one of our favorites. We enjoy pretty much any aft facing location. JMO and personal choice. We also enjoy the hump staterooms due to their extension from the sides of the ship and proximity to the main elevator banks. Their advice on the drink package would be ours as well.
  13. It is always one of our favorite stateroom locations. On the "S" class ships the decks do slope outward as they go down, so the outside of the decks can be seen from above. But that never has bothered us. Our preference is to have one stateroom deck between us and the Oceanview Cafe to assure no possible noise from there. But otherwise any deck is good. Can't answer as to whether or not you will be happy, but we certainly would be. And the views from there are good no matter the itinerary. JMO
  14. I would want to hear from those who actually have recently been on that itinerary to confirm. Lots of things are said and heard on FB. But that has not been the case with any of our SJ sailings.
  15. Well that would certainly be different. I will first say that it has been several years since we sailed out of PR, but we have also done it several times and every time we were able to board around 11:00 as you say. Of course things can change but that wouldn't make sense as everyone is off the ship typically by 10 with that itinerary. New boarding would start around 11. And that is with any cruise, not just this one. Why would anyone have to wait until 3 to board just because it is a late departure? Let us know the outcome.
  16. I don't believe anyone said it is a prohibited item as it is not, for the reasons you mention.
  17. The worst? ANY company whose "call center" is staffed in such a manner to make you wait more than 5 minutes to talk to a live person. Or that puts you through numerous queues to "assist" you without ever talking to a live person. JMO.
  18. Only a designated area in the casino and port side outdoors decks 4 and 11.
  19. Understand it was unintentional on your part, but that is no guarantee that the OP will be able to do that as it is a prohibited item as a potential fire hazard. @NewMrsSwan918, I would call RCCL and ask to speak with their special needs department to see if they can offer any help with this.
  20. Good point. I believe they typically say 24 hours, but as you indicate that may not always be enforced. But as I understand it, the refund would be as an OBC.
  21. You are welcome. Just to add, this is the same with any pre-cruise planner / app purchases.
  22. Absolutely. You can cancel if you change your mind, or if you see a lower price later and want to rebook. I believe the last opportunity to do so through the planner is two days prior to sailing. Once on board there certain time restrictions ( I believe 24 hours) but you can also cancel on board. Through the planner as described will result in a credit to the CC used for the purchase. After that deadline and on board it will be issued as an on board credit.
