  1. Typically the cruise lines try to avoid cruise cancelations unless there is no better option. They more likely will change the itinerary and ports of call if necessary to avoid the storms if possible. If you decide to cancel due to weather concerns last but the ship still sails, unless you have insurance that would cover that decision, you risk losing a significant portion, if not all, of your cruise fare paid. If you are unable to reach the departure port due to weather, you would still need the correct insurance coverage to preserve your paid fare through a claim.
  2. As the fares are issued by the cruise line, I would think their position would be the same regardless of who the booking was issued through. Whatever confirmed fare was issued at the time of booking would be the fare transferred to the TA. If the repricing occurred while in the control of the TA, the advantage of the TA is that as your advocate with the booking, they would fight that battle on your behalf. However, that does not assure a different outcome. Also, bookings transferred to a TA typically have to be made within 30 days of the initial booking and while still outside of final payment. Transferring it after the repricing would only assure their position to argue on your behalf as indicated. If the reservation was originally booked with a refundable deposit, the TA may able to offer group based rates not published by the cruise line that may be more attractive and could then cancel and rebook the reservation at that lower fare without penalty. If it was booked with a NRD, then typically the $100 pp penalty would be incurred with the rebooking.
  3. Every time a change is made to a reservation, a new booking confirmation is issued by RCCL updating the booking and confirming the changes and resulting fare. (These are numbered in order of issue and all are logged into their system). JMO but I would think that if you have an RCCL booking confirmation indicating the repriced fares issued in April, that should suffice in supporting your position on the fare you should be paying. Their system would be able to confirm the one(s) prior as well to show the tracking of the repriced fares. If they are going to not honor the April reprice based on a pricing system error (they do happen and the cruise line may not be bound by that) then at the very least they should honor the previous fare if lower than the current fares they are attempting to issue. Hope it works out for you.
  4. I should have been more clear when I said it would be repriced at the double occupancy rate to include your comments regarding changing staterooms. In reading some of their subsequent comments it also sounds as though the OP is confused in thinking that the cruise fare is what would be refundable. It is not. It is just the resulting fare from booking with a refundable $250 deposit. The TA apparently was unclear in their explanation, which likely is leading to the OP's confusion as they refer to that fare amount as the refundable deposit. The $7,274 is the fare resulting from a refundable deposit, not the amount of refundable deposit. That amount is $250.
  5. Can't say as I remember them specifically when we were on Oasis this past NYE, but they do have a nice selection of pastries and other baked goods in the SB during the week. A lot of things have likely come and gone in the past 9 years, however - LOL.

  7. First of all just to clarify, the initial deposit of $250 is what is paid to secure the booking. It is the final payment for the cruise fare total in full that is due March 2025. I say that as whether there are 2 or 3 going, the full payment for those cruising is due then. There are no refunds after final payment for those who end up not going. So you should know by then who is going for sure so as not to risk losing money by paying for someone who may end up being a no show. If you booked with a refundable deposit, you can drop the third person from the booking prior to the March final payment with no penalty and a full refund of the original deposit amount paid - $250. If you booked with a non-refundable deposit, you may lose that third person's deposit amount by canceling the third person prior to final payment. (They may just charge a $100 fee as a change fee and refund the balance). A triple occupancy stateroom is not cheaper than a double occupancy stateroom. The staterooms are priced at a double occupancy fare per person for the first two passengers, and then a separate (usually lower) fare added to that for the third person. Dropping that third person would just have it repriced at the double occupancy fare for the remaining two. The third person's deposit would either be refunded or kept by the cruise line based on its type as mentioned, but not credited towards the remaining two passenger's fares. I would suggest contacting whomever you booked through and discuss this with them to confirm your options and potential initial deposit risks.
  8. Check in is typically 45 days prior to sailing. Your GTY can be issued anytime between now and sailing, although day of assignments are rare. As long as you have a booking number you can check in through the app or the planner.

  10. Rather different ships and cruising styles IMO. Breakaway is bigger and was launched in 2013 (11 years ago) and holds 3,900 passengers while Constellation is smaller and older as she was launched in 2001 (23 years ago) and holds 2,100 passengers. NCL's primary target demographics is families and has a lot of amusement type venues are on their ships to accommodate that. Celebrity's primary target demographics is adults and their ships have none of those venues included. They each have comparable stateroom categories and sizes, and are both nice. But as mentioned, IMO completely different.

  12. True, and no argument. But all of the infrastructure, massive poos, and water park features @ $250 million set it somewhat apart from the others. And lots of not free stuff as well. Add in the 15 month zero revenue time. Just saying the ROI goals for that investment have been well published. The more ships there -regardless of RCG line - the better for that.
  13. I am aware of that as well as the plans for one in Cozumel. It would be very likely that both would use all. But Perfect Day is a bit unique in that it is really just a huge family waterpark. As I understand it, the others would be intended more as a beach day.
  14. In practice IMO it would be more subtle. Passenger "A" uses his card with a voucher to purchase a given beverage, which is then handed to Passenger "B" for consumption. It is merely one ordering a beverage by way of a voucher for another. As to someone else using someone else's voucher, the answer is no, as the a person's SeaPass card on which the vouchers are loaded is what is used to order the beverage. If someone is off the ship or in a different location they would have their SeaPass card with them.
  15. I may be repeating previous commentary but frankly, I didn't read the previous 7 pages of posts, so if this has been said, I apologize. But regarding Celebrity and Perfect day. IMO the only reason Celebrity is now calling on Perfect day is to help with the RCG goals for ROI on the $250 million 2019 investment in rebranding CocoCay to Perfect Day that was significantly interrupted by the 15 month pandemic cruise hold. I would question any other motive such as blending the two cruise lines as their distinctions are their success. My guess is if the feedback from Celebrity cruisers reaches a negative tipping point with that port of call, it may ultimately be dropped. But in the meantime it is all about the $$$$. Again, JMO.
  16. If you google "lei greetings in Hawaii" there are several companies listed that do this. While most of them indicate airport greetings they may also do cruise ship greetings as well. I would just call and ask.
  17. With full recognition and agreement of not wanting to start at tipping thread, I just want to acknowledge we do the same thing as a gratuity as while the beverages may be free to us, the bartenders are still serving them.
  18. To be clear they can be used for any beverage that can be purchased on board. They can also be applied as a discount on purchased bottles of wine @ 20% off bottles of wine over $100, and 40% off bottles of wine under $100, with one voucher applied per bottle purchased. The per drink $ ceiling indicated by @Another_Critic at $14 correct for US sailings, but in practice we've never had a requested single purchase beverage refused.
  19. Yes, you can order them in the MDR and WJ. You can also order specialty coffees at any specialty restaurant and Cafe Promenade. I believe OJ is available with room service. If you have access to either the Suite Lounge or the Crown Lounge specialty coffees are available through a self serve machine, but they are complimentary and your package is not required. Not as good as when prepared by the other locations, however.
  20. We have had a similar experience as well. And they don't seem to have any issues with you taking beverages off the ship - just on....LOL
  21. To expand on this, you can cash the vouchers out for any unopened canned or bottled beverages - beer, Truly, soda, water, etc. Not just water. They can then be taken back to your stateroom and kept in the refrigerator for another time. We do this with every cruise on which we have remaining unused vouchers at the end of the night. Nice to then have for a beverage on the balcony or to take to the pool the next day, etc. Another point is they are also combinable in that my wife can use hers for me and visa versa which allows for (in our case) 10 total beverages between us each day. Nice feature if one would drink less than the other in a given day.
  22. The biggest perk may be some amount of OBC with the main benefit being a reduced deposit - same as if you were booking it on Celebrity.
