  1. This is a bit of an issue with me at present. There are too many new faces who lack the experience. Or I'm not confident with the person who's on the desk. Get someone like João who I think is currently on Quest and you are much better informed. He knows his stuff. Phil
  2. Yes you are. That's why it's good to get it all sorted out on the ship if you are able to. Phil
  3. Betsey, you'll just have to see. I struggled with 4. Saved a little, but it wasn't free. I've always found booking them is easier done on the ship as a future booking, but you can book it at home too by speaking to Azamara. Phil
  4. Minimum cruise length to book on complimentary nights is 7. Phil
  5. Just to say that this is not standard. At least from my experience and understanding. You did very well to have that offered to you. I've made use of complimentary nights three times and it was always worked on an average of cabins booked across my bookings. No generosity shown of cabin category, but i understand the way it's worked out. Bottom line for me is they are not complimentary because you revert to full price for the whole cruiser rather than being able to take advantage of any offers at the time and still have to pay taxes and port fees. Just how much can be saved really depends upon how many nights you have and what length of cruise you book because you are paying full price for the balance of your cruise. Makes a big difference. 10 nights is good, 6 is ok, but less than six and my experience is it can be hard to make work. Phil
  6. You will get lots of stories about how the nights were used, but the important thing is how many you actually have. It is a key question that is needed before a proper reply can be given. Phil
  7. You can't use it for anything other than nights on the ship and as Scotscaz says you will need to pay the full fare. How many did you get? Phil
  8. MDR menu on room service is available to all during dining hours, but if you aren't in a suite it will be served all at once. If you are in a suite and by arrangement with your butler you should be able to receive it course by course. Phil
  9. I agree with this, Trish, I'd ask the question of the HD or someone up the ladder that you might now. They do seem to be loosening restrictions at last (like Azamazing Evenings and Best of the Best). Message me if you would like. Phil
  10. I agree. Just goes to show why having choices is good. IMHO Celebrity is not a step up from Azamara. The class system of suites and the rest is not for me. It's getting even worse because the class system operates within the fleet (Edge class vs other ships). No thanks. They tout themselves as luxury (modern luxury whatever that means?). I've always found Azamara to be a more honest product with consistent service. I've had some real service downers with Celebrity. And the food is not as good unless you pay extra and are able to eat in Luminae and then you have to stay in a suite or be invited by a suite guest. Phil
  11. I also think you need to look at this review in its entirety and not focus on the one negative. Chances are you'd never need to interact with an employee like this. In all my time on Azamara I never have. Opposite in fact. Whilst I have commented here, it's because I have had a similar experience with probably this ONE employee. @Shinydiamond, I think you are blowing it out of all proportion. Go and enjoy! Phil
  12. I'll add that I know Ryszard and after reference to him he totally dealt with the problem to a very satisfactory conclusion. If he hadn't got involved I don't know where my issue would have ended up. Luckily I am familiar with the conduits to help. Not every one is that fortunate. It shouldn't be that way. Every guest deserves to be treated with respect. This particular employee lied to my face twice. This did not help her case! Phil
  13. Aside from the fact that chances are they won't have to interact with her at all. If you do then you are likely to remember. What upset me was the way she undermined another member of the team in front of me who I know and like. I felt bad for him. Phil
  14. I had the worst experience of the GRM on Quest in October. Truly an awful attitude to an issue I had. Wonder if it's the same woman? My friend was there and had to walk away it was so bad. People like this should not be in their post. They are certainly not typical and spoil it for all. It was detailed on my post cruise survey, but as I thought I had no follow up. Phil
  15. Hi Ivi. I've never had that happen. I book direct with Azamara and they have always been fine. I will say that there are far fewer 125% deals now. Most of them seem to be 150%, but then if they can still sell the cabins and fill the ship I can see why. Phil
  16. None of the balcony partions will be opened for guests because unlike those on Celebrity they cannot be secured and it's a safety risk when the ship is under sail. I've asked before. Phil
  17. I think it's worth mentioning here and something I've thought about before. The Azamara ships being over 20 years old never appear to me to be very friendly towards those physical limitations. There are no automatic doors in the public areas and many of the doors there are wood and heavy and the thresholds not very friendly. Times have changed. They would have to be more compliant now. Phil
  18. This is a private health matter between you and Azamara and I don't think that you (other than being able to vent here) are going you receive any useful information. Nobody here is in possession of the full facts in order to give you an informed opinion. FWIW, I have always received amazing attention from the med team onboard and I've had to use them on many occasions when I wish I hadn't have had to! Phil
  19. Regardless of what other boards do, the intent by Azamara is for referrals to be between friends. It says so twice in the details on their website page. A solicited request to anonymous people on a cruise website is not a friend and makes mockery of those like me who have used the program legitimately. From the Azamara website "To submit referrals, simply fill out the form below within thirty (30) days of your friend making their reservation". Jazzbeau, I think this thread should be locked. Phil
  20. I've had the same experience and have actually posted that here before. You just have to look at a timescale that you are interested in and see if there are any deals by doing a dummy booking. Historically the solo deals listed early have been repositioning ones like the Suez and then they add some as the year goes on according to demand. Phil
  21. I totally understand that we can disagree and want different things from our experience. The reason I replied to you in the first place was that you cited that the casinos weren't successful because the odds were poor and didn't attract the guests to go there. This is factually incorrect (rather than a matter of opinion). If the casinos can't open because of the length of time they spend in ports prevents it then it doesn't matter how attractive they are to go to. They weren't economically viable so that's why they went. Your second major point that you've been the Den on an Asia cruise and it hasn't been well used is an opinion or observations. My view having been on probably 15 Den cruises is that it's very popular at many times of day. Including during the daytime when it's been used for trivia. In a word the place has been transformed in use and atmosphere from when it was a casino. No comparison. Phil
  22. All the OVs on deck 4 have windows. Potholes are on deck 3. These used to be guest cabins, but are now for crew and guest entertainers. The larger OVs category 04 are forward on either deck 6 or 7. Phil
  23. It really doesn't have anything to do with offering reasonable odds. It was just that with so many port days and late departures that is part of the Azamara way, the casino stayed closed for a lot of the time. And in my view it was a complete waste of space that has been transformed probably the most on the ships. Phil
  24. Yes Ivi. Azamara asked him back and he told me he was on Journey for a couple of months and then going to Quest. I'd love for him to stay. He is so good, but his personal life has changed a little bit so whether the Azamara contracts and locations will fit I don't know. Phil
  25. Honestly, this thread seems to have taken on a life of its own. We have just been through the most horrendous time with Covid. And so have the crew. Arguing about what we are all due in the cabin that we paid good money for? For the record, the OP I am sure started it in good faith, but it's been hijacked by a few people. Perspective required. Phil
