  1. I know when Bonnie was here pre-Covid she confirmed to me that the daily pour was available on room service if delivered with a meal. Phil
  2. My understanding is that you can have drinks delivered to your room if you have any beverage package. You don't need to be starying in a suite. I also understand that the wine daily pour can be delivered with meal service. Again any cabin type. How this works on each ship seems a bit confused from postings above. Phil
  3. It's good to see these things like this coming back after Covid! Phil
  4. Personally I find it a pain to order room service from the bar and waiting for it. Better to keep a bottle of something in the room that you've bought onshore (there are no rules about limits on this on Azamara and nothing extra to pay if you drink it in your room) as it is more convenient and cheaper too. Ask your room steward for a stock of your favourite mixers if you need them. Phil
  5. And if you do it on the ship and know any of the bar staff you can do it with them as they will get credit for selling a package. Or buy it from any of them who has been helpful! Phil
  6. I really enjoyed Cape Verde. Middle of nowhere, volcanic, a White Night under sail that turned very windy when the ship had to turn into the wind. And the crossing the equator ceremony. All good fun. Phil
  7. It's called boarding envy😀. Just make sure you get ahead of them at the Pool Bar and have one for me! Phil
  8. I've learned over time that whatever your form of transport, when you travel you need to wear your patience hat, let it wash over you and look forward (in the case of Azamara) to being pampered. You and Synnøve have a wonderful cruise. Buzios is one of my favourites. Phil
  9. I concur with the taxi if you aren't sure of your way around. My other advice would be, if you haven't already done so, book a ticket to go inside. It's amazing from the outside. Ten times better from within. If you are docked at the World Trade Centre pier, which is often the case, it's so much more convenient. The HOHO has a stop there too. Phil
  10. It is! When I did South America on Azamara in 2018 I came home and sourced this. Cheer! 🍸 Phil
  11. Is that a Caiperinha? Safe trip to the ship Phil
  12. I totally understand that people require training, but they shouldn't be sailing and trying to sell booking onboard with nobody on the ship who knows. And the poor crew are set stiff targets to sell. Not fair on them or the guests. Phil
  13. They do, but there are some timescale limitations depending upon when you booked them. The main one is if you booked one later and within 90 days of sailing it should be done within 14 days of booking. Check the terms and conditions. The way you have done it is entirely correct. If you use a travel agent I would check with them. If you made the booking direct then I would check it with Azamara directly. https://www.azamara.co.uk/plan/back-to-back-voyages Phil
  14. The joys of air travel! At least you have a bit of a buffer and hopefully get to the ship. Enjoy the crossing! Phil
  15. I've a couple of friends on Quest now from Ireland and yes, the ship will sort the visas. This was certainly how it was when I was last there on Azamara, but that was a few years ago. Phil
  16. I agree. That Crew Centre site is not reliable. Phil
  17. You'll dock in Nice. I've been there a number of times on Azamara and have never used Villefranche. You overnight there too I think so they won't tender you. Phil
  18. This is disappointing to read. I used to love the tours where they actively kept the buses half full. It was a policy they were proud of. Seems those days have gone. Phil
  19. I agree. If you are prone to seasickness then you’ll feel it on any ship if the weather is rough. The other thing to bear in mind is that the Captain will adjust his route if that’s possible to make the ride as comfy as possible. And keep the speed sensible. It does make a big difference where you stay too. If you are susceptible to a dicky tummy in rough seas try and stay low and in the middle. Avoid the front of the ship especially. Phil
  20. Snap on all counts! Phil
  21. As I say, we are all different, but even a window cabin has an open cabinet with shelves which works great to keep tidy. These big suites just have a shelf below the mirror. I think it's odd. Just wondering on your source on Atlas? Phil
  22. Yes, that's it. I was doing a comparison. Maybe I was just unlucky with a heavy footed officer! Phil
  23. I heard the rehearsals a couple of times in the afternoon. I was always out and about at showtime so it was fine. Funnily enough I was more bothered by the noise of footsteps from the bridge above on deck 7, but I'm a light sleeper and once I heard the noise I kept on hearing it. Phil
  24. I've stayed on deck 6 and 7. I was on deck 6 last cruise and I really liked the cabin, cabaret noise didn't bother me to be honest. Loved the view. You get a slightly better view from deck 7 because you are a deck up. There is also a door to the adjoining window on deck 6 that you don't have on deck 7. That's why the beds are in a different place. I'd stay on either deck. I concur with uktog. It's nice to have the two rooms for delivery of coffee etc without being disturbed. Lovely to have dinner served course by course in the cabin. I managed to secure a flourless chocolate torte from the specialty. My favourite dessert. In terms of other things not mentioned on the website, you will have VIP invites to the Azamazing and a get together, probably on the evening of departure. Some photos. Phil
  25. It's obvious that whilst you feel you have not received the level of service you expected pre-cruise, the main thing is you are miffed that you no longer have any reciprocal status with Azamara through Celebrity. You've never cruised with Azamara and have cancelled one of your two cruises where you have no travel commitments yet you continue to put them and their ownership down and come here and rant about it. Incidentally, for as long as I've been cruising on Azamara I've always understood, even whilst they were owned by Royal Caribbean, that the reciprocal arrangements could be withdrawn at any time. Their rules. Loyalty is not a right. It's earned and works both ways. Phil
