  1. Yes, and you likely won't know when they are until after you board the ship.
  2. Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya Oh Lord, kumbaya
  3. Yep, I was that handsome guy... Lol. You have to be proactive and ask for the second cleaning/turn down service, else they will default to just once per day, so that's on you.. 😉
  4. When we met our cabin stewards on embarkation day, we asked them for turn down/tidying up service 2x/day, and that happened every day without a glitch. 👍 That was probably me you saw washing my hands at the Lido buffet. I used the hand washing stations every time I visited the Lido to eat. 🙂
  5. Okay, I must have misunderstood. It seemed to me that she was emphasizing the lemon flavor that she liked in her water.. my bad. 🙃
  6. The ports were awesome, cabin selection is something that is unique to each and every cruiser. We were very satisfied with our inside cabin on deck 6 aft. 🙂
  7. There is always fresh lemon available that you can add to available fresh water from the tap.
  8. I'm well aware of that.. I just finished a 7-day sailing on Nieuw Statendam. 🤨
  9. It's used as a bar.. duh. and the nonsmokers that want to enjoy that space? Your recommended options seem to be getting smaller and smaller. How about deck 15.. jeez
  10. Oh right.. in that tiny area in the corner of the deck for coffee, juice and water. Give me a break. You're trying to include that as an outdoor dining area? Right..
  11. Rotterdam is a Pinnacle class ship, and so the rest of your comment is pretty weak. Can you be more specific about 'another area on the top deck' other than wherever you don't want to be. Maybe the jogging area, or perhaps the sports deck? I'm sure those fitness minded folks would not like that very much. Again, I go back to my previous comment that the only thing that would make you happy is totally banning smoking everywhere on all ships.
  12. I would support banning all smoking indoors, but I'm not familiar with the 'top deck near the crew smoking area' that you you refer to. Having just completed a cruise on Nieuw Statendam, I never experienced, or heard of this area. Is it well advertised as a designated smoking area for guests, and is it equipped to accommodate all smoking guests?
  13. Agree with you, but there are those that would support banning smoking in an outdoor area, away from food venues (Deck 9 aft Seaview Pool).. makes no sense at all.
  14. And what would be that next step be that HAL could take regarding smoking policy on Pinnacle ships.. banning smoking altogether anywhere on any ship? From what I've read of your posts, this is about the only thing that would make you happy.. pretty extreme if you ask me (and I'm a nonsmoker).
  15. I find it comical that you only refer to your own posts, rather than others that often have a broader and more thoughtful perspective on how most people respond and deal with the current smoking policies on HAL ships.
  16. I cannot comment first hand on this because we always got our water from the tap in our cabin, or on the Lido deck from the dispensers (filled our own water bottles). Which in our opinion is as good or better than any bottled water available on the ship. That being said, the only 'packaged' water we observed available onboard was in aluminum cans, in different sizes for purchase. No plastic bottled water available on HAL ships anymore.
  17. I would say that his comments accurately reflect how many (dare I say most) cruisers feel and respond to the experience of how smoking is handled on HAL ships.
  18. We thought dinner selections and meal quality were both excellent. As far as dinner service goes, it depended slightly on which dining venue. For us, service was very good in all venues, but slightly better in the specialty restaurants, i.e., Tamarind, Pinnacle Grill and Canaletto. Overall about an 8-9 across all venues. But we all know how subjective opinions about food quality and service are, so YMMV.. 🙂
  19. Yes, in response to USB outlets in cabins. They have them on Pinnacle ships, including Nieuw Statendam.
  20. Yes, I didn't count them, but there were enough for our needs.
