  1. On the ship, you will not see a refund for the cancelled excursion - you just won't see any charge for it at all. You will see charges for all your excursions and refundable OBC for the payments you made. You don't need to go to Guest Services to check - just look at your folio on your app or print out a copy at the machine next to Guest Services. Princess does not actually charge for the excursions until you are onboard. If you cancel an excursion, they don't normally refund to credit card if you still have an excursion balance - even if that balance is covered by OBC. To see your balance pre-cruise, log into the cruise on the Cruise Personalizer. Proceed as if you are buying a new excursion (don't worry, you won't actually purchase anything). Select any excursion that doesn't conflict with the time of one you already have, select all passengers in the cabin, and click on ADD TO CART. Click on PAY NOW. Click on PAY NOW on the new screen. Look at the EXCURSION RESERVATIONS SUMMARY. It will show Previously Made Reservations, Previous Payments Received (credit card), Onboard credits applied (including OBC applied to this new excursion), and Subtotal (amount owed) for each passenger. Subtract off the Reservations in Cart, and it will show your current balance. After reviewing, select Remove next to each of the excursions - you haven't paid for anything.
  2. The ship only stays one day in Greenock. The 2:00 am departure time for an August cruise is to allow for excursions to the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo. Excursions to the Tattoo get back to the ship a little before that departure time. If you book privately to the Tattoo, you need to make sure you get back by the departure time - or at least get back before the last ship excursion returns. Even though the Tattoo is in Edinburgh, Princess normally has Tattoo excursions from Greenock instead of from South Queensferry because South Queensferry is a tender port. They don't want to be running tenders back to the ship at 1:00 in the morning.
  3. It depends on your definition of breakfast food options. Some people may want a hamburger for breakfast. I just wanted to point out that there is more available from room service than just what is on the door hanger card.
  4. You do not have to pay extra for breakfast room service from the door hanger menu. You only have to pay extra if you order by phone or OceanNow. I was replying to @OTrailwho has the Plus package, so telephone and OceanNow room service do not extra with that package.
  5. In addition to the room service breakfast menu you hang on your door, you also have free access to the OceanNow menu (from your room or elsewhere on the ship). It will have additional options.
  6. Get a CVP if you don't use a travel agent. Book another cruise before the expiration using the FCDs. Then when the booking you want is available, ask the CVP to cancel the old booking and transfer the FCD to the new one. This has worked in the past, but I haven't tried it recently - so no guarantees.
  7. If you have separate credit cards, then your folios are not linked. You cannot see the other person's folio from your account. If one person has unused OBC, it doesn't go to the other one. If you use the same credit card, then they are combined at the end of the cruise. If one person has OBC left over (even nonrefundable OBC), it is used to pay the other person's expenses. The owner of the credit card can see both people's onboard folio's. The other person can only see his or her own folio.
  8. A formal night is never on the first night or the last night. It is usually on sea days but not always. If it's on a port day, it's usuall a port day with an early departure.
  9. It is not unusual to see a different price for a different departure time. Most of the time, it's the same. They know in advance which departure times are more popular, so having a different price evens out the demand - instead of selling one out.
  10. If you have adequate documentation from medical professionals that you are unable to sail for the medical condition, you should be covered. A slip and fall should not be considered a pre-existing condition. With Princess Vacation Protection, you should receive a refund for everything you paid Princess except for the cost of the insurance. You will not receive anything for any non-refundable expenses you paid directly to airlines, hotels, or excursion operators not through Princess.
  11. I have three Alaska cruises currently booked. Some of the excursions show the "Price reflects discount" notation and some do not. None of the excursions are priced lower than what I paid months ago, and a couple are priced higher even with the discount. Since I did not look at the prices last month, I don't know what they were charging then.
  12. Your medallion contains a code to identify you - nothing else. It does not contain your room number. Princess programs their system to allow a specific medallion to open a specific door. If you're traveling with family or friends, they can also program it to allow your medallion to open doors to additional cabins. They don't change anything in the medallion - just in the database on the ship.
  13. The Caribbean is in the smaller and older Grand class.
  14. My wife also cannot use the tub/shower combo because of mobility issues. Our solution is that we never book a mini-suite on Princess. We book an oceanview, a balcony, or a full suite - but never a mini-suite. Then we have a walk-in shower - a large one in the suite or a small one in the oceanview or balcony.
  15. With a few exceptions (involving things like flights, hotels, and private cars), Princess excursions are completely refundable until two days before the excursion. If you cancel five or more days before the cruise, you can receive a credit card return. If you cancel the last few days before the cruise or onboard, you will receive refundable OBC (that will be refunded if not spent). Note that the refundable OBC goes to the passenger who is booked on the excursion - not to whoever paid for the excursion. The specific details are provided in Pre-Cruise FAQ: Shore Excursions and in Excursion Terms & Conditions. Princess does not offer a shuttle from South Queensferry to Edinburg. They offer an "Edinburgh On Your Own" excursion. Note that they also offer an "Edinburgh on Your Own" excursion from Greenock. Surprisingly, on my currently booked August 2025 cruise, the excursion from Greenock is ten dollars cheaper than the one from South Queensferry. Look at the excursion listings for your cruise for details. Airfare information will not be available until flights are available to book. Note that flights are generally not available to book on EZAir until 330 days before the end of the cruise. You can get an idea by looking at an earlier cruise with the same embarkation and disembarkation ports and selecting "Flight Quotes". Hotel information for Princess hotels in London is available in "Europe Hotels by City" under Cruise Ports & Hotels. They list three hotels in London. Note that the prices listed are per person double occupancy for two nights. Additional nights are less expensive because the listed price for two nights includes transfer from the airport to the hotel and transfer from the hotel to the ship. Princess does not offer any hotels in Southampton.
  16. Yes. They usually have at least one. On a longer cruise, they may have one each week. Princess often provides free "champagne" (or at least something that looks something like champagne).
  17. No. Princess Vacation Protection trip cancellation coverage (if you cancel the cruise) covers only things booked through Princess. It would cover EZAir but not independent air. It would cover hotels and excursions booked through Princess but not hotels or excursions booked independently. Trip interruption coverage is different. It covers additional costs for things covered by trip interruption. Several years ago I received refunds for the cost of a hotel and meals even though no flights were delayed. I arrived at my home airport as scheduled and picked up my car from the airport parking lot, but I could not drive home because an ice storm had closed the roads. I drove to a hotel close to the airport, stayed overnight in a hotel, and drove home the next day (when the roads were good enough for my four-wheel drive car). Princess Vacation Protection paid for the hotel and an allowance for meals.
  18. I don't like long queues, but I don't mind the pagers in the midship dining rooms. Sitting in Vines while waiting for a pager to go off is not all bad.
  19. That's exactly the problem with the aft MDR. DW has mobility issues and the midship MDRs are a lot more convenient. However, we like traditional dining when we're not in a suite, so we may be stuck there.
  20. Why would you need to switch medallions? That could cause a lot of problems. All you have to do is go to Guest Services and request that all four of you be programmed to have access to both cabins.
  21. You have one potential issue to consider. If the cruise is cancelled for any reason, then the EZAir flights are also cancelled. If you still want to go to do the land tour, you would have to book new flights.
  22. With EZAir, can cancel or change flight with no penalty until 45 days prior. With EZAir, don't pay for flight until 90 days prior. With EZAir on pre-cruise flight, get transportation to next port if miss cruise. Delay and cancellation on return flight was airline's problem. EZAir did not add any additional hassles.
  23. How old were your teens? According to Cruising with Family & Kids FAQ, the minimum age for the teens to be booked in a separate cabin is 16. @ccqueenanne said her teens were both 15 years old - one year to young.
  24. Each excursion you can book has departure and arrival times listed in the description on Cruise Personalizer. One exception would be if you booked a tour ending at the airport that would also take you back to the ship. You need to make sure to verify with the excursion desk onboard that the excursion will return you to the ship. They will probably take the people to the airport first before returning to the ship. The port is very close to the airport, so your arrival time back at the ship shouldn't be much later than the end time listed. I would not expect you to get an exact answer until you are onboard and talking with the Shore Excursions desk there.
