  1. Slight clarification. The snacks/tapas at Vines are complimentary if ordering wine. They are not available without a wine order. As stated above, the drink packages are good there up to package limits.
  2. I faxed my requests on August 6th for two cruises. I received emails today with new Booking Confirmations for both cruises showing the additional $100 OBC for the 10-day cruise and the additional $250 OBC for the 14-day cruise.
  3. The listings never list more than 20 people, even if there are hundreds of spaces available. The listing stays at 20 until there are only 19 spaces left.
  4. The two cruise itineraries are very different. I have sailed both and enjoyed them both. I have sailed Alaska several times. I will be repeating the Canada/New England this fall. You really need to look at the differences between them and decide which one works better for you. The Canada/New England cruise is very port intensive. The nine days (not including embarkation or disembarkation days) includes eight port days and only one sea day. The main attractions of this cruise are the visits to the ports. Take a look at the description of the ports and the shore excursions on the Princess website. You will discover if you like cruising. However, if you don't enjoy the time on the ship, you won't be on the ship that much. The Alaska cruise has only three ports between Vancouver and Whittier, so the six days (not including embarkation or disembarkation days) includes three port days and three sea days. The main attractions of this cruise are not the ports - they are the scenery in Glacier Bay and College Fjord. You may also look at the descriptions of the ports and shore excursions on the Princess website. Personally, I love sea days, but you don't know yet. The three ports on the Alaska cruise are completely cruise tourism dependent. You will find several large ships docked at a small town, completely overwhelming the size of the town. The ports on the Canada/New England cruise are not near as cruise tourism dependent. You will not find as many large ships there as in the Alaska ports. The season for Canada/New England cruises is much shorter than the season for Alaska cruises, and there aren't as many ships doing that itinerary. If you take the Canada/New England cruise first and enjoy it, it will be much easier to book an Alaska cruise later than vice versa. The Majestic Princess is a newer ship - built in 2017. The Caribbean Princess is a much older ship - built in 2004 and refurbished in 2019. The Majestic Princess is a larger ship - 143,700 tons compared to 112,894 tons for the Caribbean Princess and 3,560 passengers compared to 3,140 passengers on the Caribbean Princess. I can't give you a fair comparison of the two ships. The Caribbean Princess is one of my favorite ships, and I've sailed on her many times. I have not yet sailed on the Majestic Princess. You can take a look at the deck plans for the Caribbean Princess and the Majestic Princess on the Princess website. The Caribbean Princess has a full promenade deck allowing you to walk completely around the ship (although you do have to take stairs up one deck at the bow). The Majestic Princess does not have a full promenade deck. Crooners Bar is my favorite place on the Caribbean Princess, and they don't have it on the Majestic. They also have different specialty dining restaurants.
  5. Most electronic devices, such as phone and camera chargers and CPAP machines, are dual voltage. However, many heating devices, such as curling irons and immersion water heaters, are not. If you plug a 120v device into a 220v outlet, it will fry. You really need to check the specific device.
  6. I haven't cruised on Princess yet since before the pandemic, so I don't know personally. The link I provided was to what is currently posted on the Princess website. I certainly can't guarantee that the Princess website is up to date with what's on the ships.
  7. As stated, they offer assistance for embarkation and disembarkation. They will provide a wheelchair, as well as a pusher, if you need one for embarkation or disembarkation. Or they will help you if you're in your own wheelchair. Note that they do not provide a wheelchair for use on the ship or for leaving the ship at ports during the cruise. If you need one, you have to provide your own. Also, they don't provide pushers at ports other than embarkation or disembarkation. If you need help, you need to have a traveling companion to help you. They will help you get on and off a tender, but only if you can stand and walk the short distance necessary. If you are injured during the cruise so that you need a wheelchair, then they will provide one after you see the medical department onboard. You won't pay for the use of the wheelchair, but you will pay for the visit to the medical department (possibly covered by trip insurance).
  8. That's fine if they're going to be in the US - not otherwise. It can be difficult to change coins into another currency. A lot of currency exchange places will only change bills. This can be more of a problem when tipping in euros, since the smallest bill is five euros.
  9. I booked first night Crown Grill on two upcoming cruises and did not pay for either one. On one of the cruises, I also had free specialty dinner from a promotion, and I booked two nights without being charged.
  10. That's what I thought. We had originally booked this holiday Hawaii cruise in a window suite on the Grand Princess last year before that cruise was cancelled. You can't get more convenient than a window suite and Club Class dining. Breakfast in Sabatini's or Crown Grill will be a much shorter walk. Sabatini's looks really convenient - right off the aft lifts, and the Crown Grill isn't that much forward.
  11. We took the AQ transfer to Vancouver airport. A taxi would have been much quicker. This is one time when the large ships do a better job. On a large ship, they have many buses to the airport. As soon as one fills, it leaves. AQ appeared to have only one. They checked the passenger list and waited for late passengers before leaving. This delayed us. Also AQ used the same bus for transfer to the airport and transfer to the post-cruise hotel. They normally would go to the hotel first and then to the airport, further delaying the airport arrival. On our trip, they only had one couple going to the hotel and the bus was an hour late leaving - with some people looking at missing their flights. Because of that, they went to the airport first. This left the couple going to the hotel with a long ride. With only one couple going to the hotel, they should have paid for a taxi to take them.
  12. I have two questions for anyone who has sailed the Crown Princess recently: Is the suite breakfast in Sabatini's (Deck 16) or in Crown Grill (Deck 7)? Is Club Class in Da Vinci (Deck 6) or in Michelangelo (Deck 5)? We haven't sailed on the Crown Princess since 2013, and this will be our first time in a suite on this ship. It will also be our first time in an aft suite, so I'm wondering how far DW will have to walk to meals.
  13. This experience is pre-pandemic and pre-medallion, so I'm not absolutely sure nothing has changed. My drink package was good until I left the ship. I had a Bloody Mary for breakfast included in the package. The 15-drink limit is from 6 am to 6 am, so it restarts at 6 am each day. Theoretically, you can drink 15 alcoholic drinks with the package between 6 am on disembarkation day morning and when you get off the ship. I haven't personally been able to reach the 15-drink limit on disembarkation morning, but it may be interesting to try.🙂
  14. The best option is to call room service to order. You can order anything from the MDR menu. This option is available only during the hours when the MDR is open. I would recommend you try the specialty suite breakfast. It is much better than the MDR. Items are cooked to order in a small kitchen. The menu is very flexible, and you can order items not on the menu. If they don't have it available that morning, they can usually get it by the next morning.
  15. We did have one problem at the end of the cruise. DW didn't feel well on the flight back and tested positive the next day. She took Paxlovid and recovered quickly without major symptoms. Thank goodness we didn't have to quarantine in Canada.
  16. I second this comment. In addition to her skill, she had a great personality and was always friendly with everyone. Unfortunately, she was planning to return home after our cruise. My prayers are with her and her country. I hope she will be safe.
  17. Note that this applies only if you use the same credit card. One of you will be listed as the owner of the credit card and the other one will be listed as an authorized user. Then the folios are combined. To clarify the second paragraph, you can pre-book excursions using the other passengers OBC by calling Princess. Any Princess telephone representative can handle this, even though some of them don't seem to know how.
  18. These comments are not specific to Enchanted Princess. Also different cabins may have different plugs. I have found more European 220v outlets than US 110v outlets. There may be a European 220v outlet behind the table next to the bed for a bed lamp. Is your CPAP dual voltage? If so, you just need an adapter to plug it in. I use a dual outlet adapter that has one European outlet and one US outlet. I unplug the lamp, plug in the adapter, plug the lamp back in to the adapter, and plug my CPAP in to the adapter.
  19. My CPAP is dual voltage. It has a separate power brick that is labeled with the voltage. If you have a power brick, then look closely at the small print. You can also look at a user manual. If you don't have one, there is possibly information on the manufacturer's website. You may also try calling the manufacturer or the company that sold you the CPAP.
  20. Converter and adapter are two different questions: An adapter is needed to allow you to plug a US plug into a European socket. It does not change the voltage - it just makes the plug fit. A converter is needed to covert 220v to 110v. You do not need an adapter. The 220v outlets would accept a US plug. You do need a converter if you are using any 110v-only items. However everything I used was dual voltage (110v-220v). This included my battery chargers, my phone charger, and my CPAP machine. Look on the item - it should specify the voltage requirements in small print. Since all my items I needed to plug in were dual voltage, I didn't need an adapter or a converter. They also have a USB power port on the desk. You can plug a charger needing USB directly into that port without using a plug.
  21. Club Class has the same menu as the rest of the MDR, with the possible exception of an additional item or two. The food is prepared in the same kitchen, so there's generally no difference in the food. However, the service is better. It combines the best of traditional dining (with the same group of waiters who get to know you) and anytime dining (with no wait). I believe the service is better than the rest of the MDR, since there are fewer diners per waiter and since the head waiter and the waiters get to know you. You do not need to make a reservation in the DMW app for Club Class. When I went into the app, it recognized that I had Club Class and stated not to make a reservation. Please do not make a reservation in the MDR (unless you want to share a table with someone not in Club Class) or you will take up two tables - one in Club Class and one with your reservation. The only reason for someone in Club Class to use the DMW app is to reserve specialty restaurants. The special breakfast with a different menu on Princess is in a specialty restaurant for suite passengers only. The food and service there is fantastic, but it is for suite passengers only. That's why you won't see many suite passengers in Club Class for breakfast.
  22. I agree with the recommendation to try to book a cabin close to public men's and/or women's rooms. You can see their locations on the deck plans online.
  23. If you cancel and rebook instead of refaring, you need to watch out for a couple of other potential problems: If you have booked EZAir flights, they disappear with the cancellation and you have to rebook. You may not be able to get the same flights or they may cost more. If you have booked shore excursions, they disappear and you have to rebook. They may be sold out, or the price may have increased.
