  1. I just checked the Princess Plus & Princess Premier Terms & Conditions on the Princess website. It states "One guest’s participation in Princess Plus [Princess Premier] may be dependent on the other guest in his/her stateroom’s participation, as determined by booking method." Notice that it says "may be dependent" - not "is dependent". The only thing consistent on Princess is the lack of consistency. I don't know what booking methods allow one person to get it and the other one not, but apparently that is allowed onboard - at least some of the time.
  2. I suspect the contents of the JourneyView Activities Timeline may be ship dependent, as my cruise didn't have them either even though there probably isn't any question when the formal nights will be.
  3. This doesn't work on my upcoming cruise from Quebec to Fort Lauderdale on the Carribean Princess next month. "Captain's Champagne Waterfall" is listed on JourneyView Activities Timeline on the first sea day, so this is probably a formal night. However, "Formal Portraits Tonight!" is not listed on any day on the timeline.
  4. I'm sure the crew has fun "destroying" it.😉
  5. I can't speak to this specific cabin and ship. You can change to another cabin in the same category if one is available with no change in price. To change to a different category, you would have to refare to the current price (or cancel and rebook).
  6. If you call the PVP number to book and tell them to give her credit, then she should be able to handle your booking. You can also book online and put it on hold - then call the PVP number to pay the deposit. If you call the general Princess number to book and deposit, then you may not be able to get that PVP to handle it in the future. I booked one cruise online, then needed to call to deposit. PVP was not available. I called general Princess number to deposit. When I talked with PVP later, she said she could not help me on that booking, since it was assigned to someone else.
  7. The embarkation night dinner will be in whatever specialty restaurant you select. Call the DINE line or go by a specialty restaurant as soon as you board to reserve your time. The app doesn't seem to recognize the first night complimentary specialty restaurant dinner for suites, so you will probably need to do it onboard. There shouldn't be a problem, as they hold some spaces back for suites.
  8. You do both. You play the video on the cabin TV or on your phone using the app. You go to the muster station so that they know you can find it, but there's no presentation there.
  9. And of course the description of the Elite discount says "Discount is not combinable with any other shore excursion discount or offer."
  10. I doubt they will force you to order two, as long as you "pay" for two. I plan to try sharing with DW and to tell them to go ahead and charge us for two. With Premier, I don't care how many they charge us for. It would be different with Plus.
  11. I'm not sure. It's on the children's menu. Ask your waiter for a copy of the children's menu. On Princess, a child of any age can order from the regular menu, and a passenger of any age can order from the children's menu.
  12. I just double checked, and OP is from the United States. My comments about booking with refundable deposits apply to the US and Canada but not everywhere else.
  13. Does it show that any payment was made? If not, it should have a statement the Deposit is due by a certain date. Double check under Invoice & Balance Due to see if it has applied a payment. If you had a Future Cruise Credit, it may have automatically applied it, even if you didn't ask it to.
  14. You should be able to make specialty dining reservations in the app. You can use your credits from Premier or you can pay by credit card. You cannot use OBC when booking in advance on the app. I also haven't been able to get it to use the complimentary first night for suites in advance on the app.
  15. Princess has updated their suite amenities listing online, and, as usual, they are not consistent. They have one listing of suite amenities under the description of each ship. The description for the Caribbean Princess is here. Select "Suite" under "Accommodations" and then click on "Show Stateroom Features". This link takes you to a different page for each ship, and I didn't check other ships to see if they listed the same amenities. If you click on "Learn about the Suite experience", you will go to another page - The Princess Suite Experience - which appears to be the same for all ships. They used to have a PDF flyer, but that doesn't seem to be available anymore. The two listings are not consistent. The first listing includes "Complimentary laundry and professional cleaning services." However, the second listing does not mention laundry. In the past suites have had complimentary same day laundry - much faster than the Elite laundry. Same day laundry is no longer mentioned in either listing. The suite laundry was great, especially on voyages with a large number of Elites. I left my laundry out in the evening and always got it back the next day, even on voyages where Elite laundry was taking three or four days. I don't know if Princess has cut out or reduced suite laundry or if they just weren't careful in editing their descriptions. With Princess, either of those is certainly possible. I would be interested in hearing from someone onboard as to whether or not suite laundry has changed.
  16. I learned this lesson several years ago. I believe in the following policy: If you find something you think you want and it is available with a refundable deposit, book it and then do the research later. If it doesn't have a refundable deposit, you can still usually put it on hold for three days with no deposit. Just because something is available now doesn't mean it will be available tomorrow - or even an hour from now.
  17. The menu says that "If you have Princess Premier or Princess Plus, these desserts (original or with alcohol) are included in your package." My question is whether or not the shot of alcohol counts against the 15-drink limit. It appears it should not, since it is not a drink and we have a separate limit for these desserts. Since these desserts are unlimited for Premier, I assume I could have several with alcohol in addition to my 15 alcoholic drinks.😀
  18. You definitely should watch the video, especially if you haven't cruised with Princess for a while. However, they don't make you watch it. They make you play it on your tv or your app, but no one is checking to make sure you're watching.
  19. You should always cancel if you change your mind. You can cancel that evening a couple of hours before dinner. Otherwise, they may be saving a table and making someone else wait.
  20. OP has paid for the shuttle and it is not refundable, since it was included in the pre-cruise hotel package. There is no reason to do anything in advance. Wait until you get to the hotel and ask the Princess representative what time the shuttle will leave. Also ask the front desk how much a taxi would cost. Then decide.
  21. This isn't necessarily a benefit. DW has mobility issues and has trouble with shower in tub. The (small) walk-in shower on balcony and below is much better for her than the shower in tub.
  22. In addition to selling out, it is not unusual for Princess to increase the price of some excursions. Princess has had a 10% off sale on shore excursions on some cruises in the past. However, that is not a reason to wait. Go ahead and book. If the sale price is less than what you booked, you can always cancel and rebook. It's been awhile since I've seen this (pre-pandemic). They had a 10% off sale on excursions on one of my cruises. The price had gone up more than 10% on several of my excursions, so I was better off staying with what I had. On one or two excursions, the price hadn't changed, so I cancelled and rebooked with the 10% off. I don't remember seeing a sale on specialty dining. Sometimes they have had cruise sales that included specialty dining. I've never booked a spa, so I can't comment on that.
  23. The problem is some people abuse the system, and then the rules to prevent the abuse also affect the rest of us. One example is the 15-drink limit for alcoholic beverages. Princess didn't make that rule because some people were drinking more than 15. There wouldn't be enough people doing that to affect the bottom line. They made the rule because some people were sharing their drinks.
  24. I disagree. If I use my package to purchase a drink, should I also be able to share it with anyone? If I can share by prix fixe food with someone else, then why should any of my friends buy the package? I can order as many meals as I want (if I have Premier) and share them with everyone on the ship.
  25. Most wines by the glass are included. You will find a better selection at Vines, and you can carry your wine into the MDR. The menus will have a price. You will have to calculate the upcharge yourself. If the price is $20 or less, than there is no upcharge. If the price is more than $20, you will pay the difference between the price and $20 plus 18% service charge on the difference. For example, if the price is $22, you will pay $2.36.
