  1. Thanks for posting photos. Not very creative plating but portions seem adequate. May try a couple of the Indian dishes. Nice to see you could still request steak with the lobster or vice versa, tail appears to be 5-6 oz., not bad at all.
  2. Thanks, how did you find the quality and portions?
  3. On Holland America and Cunard the future cruise reps actively and cheerfully sell both certificates and make future bookings. Perhaps they have a different job description but clearly someone who sails multiple lines could assume that NCL might do the same.
  4. Curious about 5 night Bermuda on Liberty in May. I wonder if short cruises will always use the same rotation or if the selection may vary week to week?
  5. Probably HAL should more strongly suggest that booked passengers reserve their dining in advance of boarding. I’m trying to use my two credits for Rotterdam in October but website keeps saying unavailable, try later. What is the time frame for opening reservations, anyone have experience? On a similar note a shorex I was looking at for Bruges went up $20 pp last week. So another lesson in timeliness learned. As long as you’re reasonably sure you are actually going to take the cruise no good reason to hesitate completing your arrangements IMO.
  6. I have not found that to be the case in the past. I am hoping perhaps it is currently the situation because for my t/a on Rotterdam this October there are only 3 or 4 excursions offered online in each port other than pricey private car tours. Maybe more will be added later? Way less options at this point than what we are used to seeing.
  7. Discontinued a few months ago, no restrictions currently.
  8. I bought the Key for an upcoming sailing. Skipping some lines and a couple upgraded meals appealed to me. Will report my experience. Question - where does it show on app or account that you bought the Key? I have the confirmation receipt, is that it?
  9. I’ve done it, interesting tour, far superior to hanging around the airport half a day for an afternoon flight.
  10. Doesn’t make much sense or look good for reservations being honored. Is it accurate that fixed traditional early and late seatings are still an option on all but E-Class?
  11. Thanks for the positive report. We will be sailing Liberty in May and we’re hoping for the best.
  12. So all the fuss over lobster tails and it’s being served on the buffet? Along with filets, tons of shrimp, and carved steamship of beef. Is that some sort of special event in WJ? Surely that’s not a typical days offering.
  13. Changed I assume due to sea and/or ice conditions but still a good representation of the peninsula. Thanks for the info.
  14. The notes on the menu’s reference cruises six nights and longer, any idea of what the order is on a 5 night cruise?
  15. Thanks Drowelf, good news that the drive bys seem to be still able to visit the peninsula region. Enjoy your cruise and please keep us updated if you have the time. This makes me feel much more optimistic about my Eclipse sailing next January.
  16. To clarify, it’s about the value proposition. For the Eclipse to Antarctica I get to “see” it for $3000 pp. To step on by expedition ship is usually $10,000+, same or more to fly in or over. So to me it’s a good value even if the food and onboard product are scaled back. For an R&R type Caribbean trip no longer the case.
  17. For me it seems like cruising will be to travel to places where a land trip is too complex or costly or not possible at all, Arctic Circle, Antarctica drive by on Eclipse for 2024, maybe Azamara for Africa in 2025. The days of Caribbean cruising with the ship as the prime attraction appear to be past, the food was a major motivator for us along with entertainment and service. So we will still go but likely less overall.
  18. I guess one positive side effect of these changes being made too late for anyone to cancel is that we will all have the opportunity to experience first hand and judge accordingly if they are no big deal or deal breakers or some middle ground. The reality onboard will likely differ from the predawn conclusions here.
  19. The point here is obviously there is no legal obligation to serve prime rib or anything else. It transcends into an ethical issue of making many changes to historically expected foods, products and services when the buyer has no recourse for canceling.
  20. What country on a transatlantic itinerary is actually requiring this at the present time?
  21. I see lots of people moving up to or considering “O”. How is Azamara food and overall product vs Celebrity? Or as an option to Oceania? I see an itinerary that interests me at a decent price.
  22. Beware Magdalena Island is often inaccessible due to high winds and seas. I was shoehorned into a seat on a ferry for hours only to have to turn back while finally in sight of the island.
