  1. Thanks for the replies!

I usually look at everything online and if I see something I like then I may book. But probably not for 2016, since I am doing a WC segment next year...may have to wait until 2017....so guess that means next September I will have to check.

  2. Has anyone traveled very recently to PNG via a cruise that can tell me about the visa situation?

We are due to go there next year for our cruise and was wondering, since I remembered someone saying they were changing their requirements, if anyone had needed to go thru the new process.

First I checked the PNG Visa website to see what it had to say, but for clarification I thought I would email the cruiseline as well as the PNG Consulate Visa Section in Sydney. Of course I have not heard back from the cruiseline yet, but the same day of my email the PNG people in Sydney ema(I did visit iled me a confusing (to me) response. First they stated in the first sentence that all foreign visitors required a visa. Then in the next sentence said that since I was on a cruise that I should check with the cruiseline to see if a visa was required.

  3. Isn't it today (9 Sept) that members book for the WC 2016? I was trying to take a look and possibly book but cannot figure out how you can do this on the Cunard site. It does not let me do it. Do you have to log in?Or do you have to wait until the 10th to book? Appreciate any help.

  4. Aww, thanks for the kind words, Ali Baba! I think I will go with that format in the future for the selfish reason it was a lot quicker and easier to put together than a traditional review. I'm pleased to hear you found it agreeable from the reader's perspective. And today, by you popping it up again, I get to indulge in a few minutes of reverie over another wonderful crossing--thanks!

I loved reading it for another reason too...keeps my excitement level for our next cruise in January. Had it booked for a year now and soooo ready for it! So reading a review like yours was perfect for me! Thanks again!:)

  5. I did manage to bring up the personaliser but it still shows Gty. I will keep looking, I hope that I can put the number on the tags before I get to the terminal.

How about you Pepperrn, did you catch that "flying pig"?

I read that someone is asking how the upgrade fairy chooses to bestow her favours. It really is a mystery that only the man with the "little grey cells" can figure out.

    Had to say it.....Poirot! :)

  6. Wow, that was a great review! I was jumping up and down with you as you found out about your upgrades, filled with excitement as you planned your trip, smiled when you brought up Hercule Poirot (love him!) and throughly enjoyed you descriptions of your two days aboard QM2 in the Q1! I had just woke up and read from beginning to the end and never felt the need to drift off!;)

I can't wait for your review of your Med cruise!

Thank you so much for starting my day so beautifully!

  7. Hello everyone! Boy did I miss this thread in June!!!:o How about I revive this great thread?

I was sitting here wondering about the webcam and the sailaways and thought I would look around CC and here is this thread.

We have been moping around with nothing constructive ;) to do for several months now. Well, we have a cruise booked for January and have been planning than since last year so need some bonus festivities. I try to check out the webcam but no DAM ship...lol. I will just have to wait for another month or so.:(

On the subject of the webcam, are there still issues with it or the website? Just wondering because the last few times I checked it I could not view the map in the lower left hand corner...the one that used to have the street map or satellite picture. Anyone else have that problem?

It was good to read about what you guys are up to and look forward to getting together soon!:)

  8. I am sorry to hear about your health issues Marie and wish you all the positivity I can send you! I enjoy reading this thread and know that the vast majority of us will miss you greatly! Focus on the good and do what you need to do! If and when you come back we will be here waiting for you with open arms! Hugs to you!

  9. Is there a pdf or link someone knows of that has the current list of wines on board the Queen Elizabeth and their prices? Specifically Cabernet or Merlot. Thanks

Hi Duane...if you check out the FAQ on the Cunard website it has a wine packages pdf, or gift catalogue pdf, that you can download, but here is what I copied.

    Wine Packages

Various wine packages are available. Should a bottle not be finished in one sitting please let your wine steward know that you would like it to be available to you on another occasion wherever you choose to dine.

Once you have ordered a wine package, you will be given a booklet of vouchers, (if you have purchased a 6 bottle package you will receive 6 vouchers, one for each of the wines within the package). When ordering a bottle of wine from your package, the wine steward will take the relevant voucher from you. Should a bottle not be finished in one sitting please let your wine steward know that you would like it to be available to you on another occasion wherever you choose to dine.

Vouchers are non transferable and cannot be carried over to alternative cruises.

Single bottles of wine or Champagne can be pre ordered via our gift catalogue, Spirits can be ordered via room service.

Please call the Customer Contact Centre on 0843 374 000 to place your order. Pre ordered items will require payment at time of ordering and will not be charged to your on board account.

Please note that all items are subject to availability and where applicable, alternatives may be offered.

Wine Tasting is available from $35.00* per person.

Chief Sommeliers on board create wine tasting packages which are influenced by the cruise and itinerary and will be subject to availability.

To take advantage of these packages, please contact reception once on board.

  10. Hello everyone, I come here and lurk periodically. I am not a fashionista or even close!! I try to dress up on cruises as I don't do it in everyday life. I love hearing your stories, seeing your dresses and accessories and trying to get some tips on fashion, etc. The one thing that makes me smile, cry and come back (need to come here more often!) is your comraderie (?). You share yourselves with each other, besides the clothes and accessories, and that is an amazing thing to see! You are genuinely caring women and are there for each other in many ways. This is such a great thing to see in this day and time or anytime for that matter! I just wanted to let you all know that I appreciate you and this thread. Thank you for all you do and sharing who you are!:)

  11. I received an email the other day from Cunard and it was about changes I would like to see in King's Court. I was given choices, like: Did I like Classic or Contemproary design? (Classic). Would I be willing to pay $200.00 per person to be wined and dined by a chef as he/she prepared the meal? (NO!)

I agree with your choices! They must be kidding with that kind of charge!
