  1. There is no price protection in the UK, but I’m not sure about the situation in Canada, perhaps someone from there can answer this one. The premium drinks package includes several single malt whiskies ‘ Select Cask, The Glenlivet The Master, Destiller's Reserve, Highland Park Aged 12 Years, The Balvenie Triple Cask 12 Years, Laphroaig 10 Years, The Macallan Select Oak’ On Azamara if you want a drink that’s not included you pay the full price of the drink. The difference between the Premium & Ultimate package is that the Ultimate Package includes some better wines by the glass, such as Champagne. You can upgrade at any bar once you’re onboard, you just pay the difference between the two packages (Currently $8 a day pp). If you’re not sure whether you need the better wines you could try the included wines for a day or two before upgrading. The pools are all outdoors.
  2. Quite right, mostly embarkation issues are down to the port staff, not Azamara.
  3. We were told that if you booked direct with Azamara they send you the booklet. If you booked through a TA, the TA has to request it, it isn’t automatically sent to them.
  4. Embarkation was horrendous. We arrived about 1:15 and found the terminal was full to bursting - found out later that all those with Azamara transfers had been picked up from their hotels at 11:30. There were very few check-in desks open, we finally got onboard at about 4:30.
  5. We had our M & M listed in Insider on 20 November on Journey. I spoke to the F & B Manager who made sure we had drinks & canapés and the Cruise Director, Darren Lyndon popped in to see us too.
  6. Both of our accounts were similar initially. We completed the online form, but still were shown as preview when we are both Discoverers. We had a number of to & fro emails. Eventually I rang up and established that when the data was transferred across many accounts had new numbers created. Like you my husband had three numbers, in addition his email address had been corrupted. Ours is now sorted out and showing correctly on both accounts
  7. I guess it depends what you prefer. I really enjoyed my freshly prepared chicken pad tai the other day and for me that had more value than a slice of roast meat. There are lots of meat choices anyway.
  8. We're currently on Journey & have been delighted with the food. No carvery at lunchtime, instead a range of curries, noodle dishes, kebabs etc.
  9. No we were eastward bound and they were looking at visas. I think ours was good because we were among the first there and it opened just after we got there.
  10. Quite agree. On our last 2 cruises we've had totally different experiences. Rio in March was awful, we arrived at the terminal just after 1 and didn't get onboard until well after 4:30. There seemed to be a number of reasons for this, not many check in desks staffed (responsibility of the port) and many passengers were on Azamara transfers from their hotels and they had been picked up at 11:15am. By contrast in Dubai a couple of weeks ago we left our hotel at 11:55am and were onboard at 12:30.
  11. We've had lunch at the Patio on embarkation day in the past, but not recently
  12. No lunchtime service at the Patio on embarkation day on Journey on 20 Nov cruise
  13. Cabin: 6090 Ship: Journey Month/Year sailed: November 2023 Would you choose this room again: Yes Is noise an issue: No, very quiet Balcony size: very deep Other comments: Veranda Plus- balcony calm, great for breakfast
  14. Journey now Captain Filip Adelfoulakas Staff Captain Dario Guerrieri Horel Director Tomasz Jadczyk Food & Bev Manager Ertan Karasakal Cruise Director Darren Lynton Asst CD Grace
  15. We're now quite confused as the wine by the glass list seems to be different in every venue, with Whispering Angel on the Patio list and the poolside list (tho' in other respects they're different) but not on the list in Discoveries
  16. Yes, I liked it, but DH was not too keen. It's a bit drier.
  17. Same here, made bookings and paid for them with OBC from paid for indulgence package for Feb cruise. Did it by phone and gave paid in full.
  18. We're on Journey now and the list is different - no more Whispering Angel! Instead there's a Provence Rose. The sommelier told us he had some bottles of Whispering Angel left and would continue to serve it at dinner, but that it wouldn't be available anywhere else on the ship. I'll get a photo of the new list & post it.
  19. Although I'm booked through a TA I found it helpful to call them myself. Got through in 5 minutes, last week talked to a US agent, very helpful
  20. Or could it be from an essentials package that was part of a sales promotion
  21. When I booked excursions yesterday, the Azamara agent got me to log back in and check I saw the right amount. You’re right, it’s better to do this while still on the phone with them.
  22. Only extra if they have liquor in them, otherwise included.
  23. Not sure about that, but you can book through a US travel agent.
