  1. So sorry to hear about all of this! We sailed Freedom in July 2022 and didn't see anything like that! With that being said, I think the shorter cruises do have a different demographic. We did a 3-day Conquest cruise a while ago and that was a party booze cruise. Also, sailing during holidays you get bigger crowds and unruly children (parent's fault, not Carnival's). We are sticking to longer cruises on Carnival and trying to avoid times when children are sailing since our kids are in college and for now we go without them. We went on an 8-day cruise last January on the Horizon and it was very nice, no rowdy crowds or children. Seems like Carnival's security was overwhelmed with the crowds and clientele. As others have said, when Carnival was offering deep discounts on their cruises after Covid, everyone was booking!
  2. When are you sailing? We sailed the Horizon 8 night last January and there were hardly any kids on board because it was after holiday break. We rebooked for January 2025 and will be in a Havana cabin this time because we have heard it's pretty nice. It is nice that no little kids will be in the Havana area. With that being said, Carnival is a family-oriented cruise line so if you are not sailing with kids and are looking for more of an adult-oriented cruise, then perhaps you should go with Celebrity. We have not tried Celebrity yet but have been checking into them more recently because our kids are in college now and don't cruise with us like they used to. Regarding the Walmart crowd, I am curious what ship you were on? Also, we just sailed on Royal a few weeks ago and I felt the clientele was pretty similar to Carnival! Haha. I think (at least in my mind) that Celebrity might be more upscale because it's catered to adults.
  3. Wow, that's awesome! I wonder why so many of us have not gotten refunds yet. Very disappointing!
  4. No, I am still waiting on my refund of my cabin fare, taxes, and prepaid gratuities. I did receive a refund within days of the cancelation for Cheers, Excursions, and wifi I had purchased. All were put on the same credit card. Getting antsy because I rebooked another vacation for the same week we were supposed to be on Panorama. The letter said up to 3 weeks for refunds. This Thursday will be 3 weeks! They are milking it out.
  5. Ugh, we were on the December 2nd cruise! So bummed as this was going to be our first Mexican Riveria cruise and we were so excited. Trying to figure out alternate plans and it's so complicated!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😃
  6. I sure hope that this is fixed and we make all of our ports! That sure is a long way for you to travel for a cruise.
  7. Same here earlier this morning but mine are showing now.
  8. Yes, according to my cruise manager, you can purchase up until 11:59pm the night before cruise. Cut-off for pre-purchase is 11:59 PM the day before embarkation and 9:00pm EST through call center.
  9. I loved both ships! Either way, you will have fun.
  10. I believe it is refundable before final payment. I booked the September sale which was identical and when I look at my booking, it says $0 penalty if I cancel now which is before my final payment.
  11. Vista is missing in places too! I am trying to book it and the dates keep changing on me...lol Website is still wonky,
  12. I had success with this offer on my card. I paid a lump sum on my upcoming January cruise and I received the maximum $129.00 credit 7 days later on my Chase account. Thanks for the sharing!!
  13. Following! Going on the Mardi Gras for the first time in January. Enjoy your vacation!
  14. Mine says it is valid for 1 time only.
  15. Darn! It was on my Amazon Prime Chase card. Maybe next time for you!
  16. You need to "add" the offer on your card before purchasing. Log into your online account and look for your offers.
  17. Thank you for the heads up, one of my Chase cards has it!
  18. Oh the horror. 🤔 If this is your worst problem in your life, you're doing pretty good.
  19. Interesting that a loyal Royal would run to the Carnival boards to post bad news about a Carnival ship. Anyway, "Ship" happens as they say and it can and has happened to other cruise lines. I feel badly for the people who are on their way there or already there getting ready for their cruise. Hopefully they can salvage their vacations!! It sounds like Carnival is being generous with their offer.
