  1. We are new to Azamara (3 cruises in 2 years). There R things we like and don't like. We like being on a small ship; however, it's not for everyone (less activity and smaller shows). They can go where larger ships can't. The food in Windows is usually not hot, even the gravy and sauce. We R not fans of BBQ's on deck. The noise level of the shows is high, although that appears to be a trend on other lines.
  2. On the 11/30/24 Onward, the event was moved to the ship. I had to walk out because the sound was over 100Db.
  3. Sometimes, the dry dock is not completed on time. It might continue during your cruise.
  4. I am trying to figure out if it is better to tase them in the DR or another bar
  5. On our cruise in Nov., the waiter suggested a different red several days into the cruise. It was better. What is the best way to sample standard wines?
  6. We were on the Onward 11/30/23. The same cruise went up about 30% for 2024.
  7. When I first started cruising, almost every lower port hole had a fishing line when we were in port. I was told the crew could sell almost whatever they caught to the food manager.
  8. We were on another line the cruise prior and they started "heavy" work during our cruise!!! "According to the new 2024 Drydock and Refurbishment Report by Cruise Industry News, the Azamara Quest is slated to drydock in Amsterdam from July 28 to August 10, then follows the Azamara Pursuit in Marseille from August 26 to August 31, the Azamara Journey in Athens from September 9 to September 13, and the Azamara Onward in Cadiz from November 7 to November 12." 9. I didn't see why. Sun Princess delivery delayed, maiden cruise canceled: Travel Weekly
  10. U can get free or very reasonable Wifi at most ports. Just follow the crew.
  11. I'm not telling others what to do.
  12. The portion is up to the line. I have seen supposed contributions to the Seaman's home, card contests, etc.
  13. On lines that don't include the gratuity, a portion goes to the "unseen backroom people". In over 50 years of cruising, I have come across several issues of how these general funds are distributed.
  14. No. We isolate in the MDR, so we usually get the same table.
  15. From the FB page: "There are actually 4 engines and 2 props. 2 engines per prop. One of the engines on the port side had the coil go so that prop is working on one engine. The ship is still fine with 3 engines for the 2 props, it just can’t go full out. All this was explained to us passengers by Captain Johaness who was the captain on the Quest at the time it initially happened. This has been going on since Nov 19, 2023."
  16. On every line we sail we always give extra.
  17. On the Facebook page, someone said there are 4 motors and 1 is broken. They also said both props are still working.
  18. Got a great deal thur my TA. Then I saw a special from Azamara which included a $750 OBC. Contacted my TA and got the OBC and lower price!!!
  19. Never heard of this. Don't they also pay the TV a %?
  20. I didn't know that. How long have they been doing this?
  21. First, I got a price as a guest. Then I got a lower price after I logged on. I put a 24 hour hold on it and contacted my TA. She got an even lower price!!!
  22. Here is the reply we got from Azamara: However, I did go into the booking system and took a look at it just so I would know what we were up against. Here is what I found. In order to take advantage of these lower prices you would have to cancel and rebook. When doing so you would end up losing your $300 in onboard credit and you would be in the 100% penalty of cruise fare. This would mean that you would lose all of your cruise fare. This would make changing your booking would not save you any money considering the difference between the 2 is only around $1400 and you wouldn’t even be able to pick your room because all that is left in your category are the guarantees which means it could be in a bad location. So, to change your booking to the lower price promotions you would have to give up $300 in onboard credit making your booking $300 more expensive since you would have to pay that $300 out of pocket to cover whatever you would like to use it on since the new promotion has no OBC (onboard credit) on it. And on that you would lose all of your cruise fare meaning you would basically just be starting over, and you would end up likely getting a worse room and be paying extra. I hope this helps. Cheers, Andrea"
  23. We booked a cruise onboard last year. The price recently decreased about $900. TA told me Azamara said the price guarantee doesn't apply to my booking. I asked TA for explanation. How can that be?
