another treat for us on Cruise Critic.. thank you.. I just love every photo so far!

Sounds like my dtr's home. One of the new bthrms is a very clean white/ gray marble look. It was just completed yesterday. Looks great! Our decor is more traditional. We still cling to warm tones and ivory in both of our homes.. with a bit more brightness in Fl.. Lots of art and family portraits/ photos. I just think the new Celeb look is low end dorm...modern but not luxury!

From what we recall there is no service equip blocking the view... On EDGE, drapes remained closed or u had service items in view! Hope someone on now or more recently can explain.. We were assigned to Luminae but preferred BLU. We hear that BLU on Ascent will be even better.. we are sailing in January.

we only sail X..and maybe Cunard so we pick what works best for us when we book...

maybe if X limited daily no. of drinks in its packages, they would not have to nickel and dime everyone. Folks who have one or two drinks per day and a few waters, seem to be fewer than those who use their packages to the max.!

We dislike a la carte cruising..we always opt for "all in" if we can!

not sure what E ship? but BLU on BEYOND had a better location than on EDGE. Some AQ rms have view blocked by bump out of other cabins.. What u are moving up from probably has an IV anyhow. We don't hate it! All depends on bid price, and how much you value BLU and access to thermal suite . We always stick with what wd booked .but that's us!

hope X does not go this way.. Too many add ons and upsells as it is!

in AQ Class the waiters can actually serve diners properly. The longer tables in the E mdrs can result the handing over of food across the table... very rude and awkward.

In Luminae on BEYOND, they served 2..very small but sweet..Had it with crab??? If they now only give one in BLU..I will.order it as appetizer, and another main course..pasta or meat??

I appreciate the added info.. Stairs are dangerous too esp when hurrying, but we were never barred as far as I recall.. Over the years. Celeb has had terrible departure procedures. The early departure self carry line is now snaking all around.. and line up starts very early. Many try to cut the line, some say they will miss their flights, arguments ensue and there is very little security. In the priority dep areas for AQ etc, there is over- crowding and announcements are hard to hear!.. We usually just sit in the theater which is at least near the dep level.. On BEYOND, we were in Retreat..The priority lounge was very crowded and extra staff was called to check status and keep others out..Once the line started it was a free for all but did move.. I have no suggestions but think X could do better for safety and sanity...debark is hazardous!

Thanks for understanding my point..if folks are angry at X, why take it out on others? I will leave this thread to those who want to vent. I am sure we will have some future issues with x...that need to be aired. We have SAMSUNG phones, tablets laptops, etc.. No issues other than they don't play well with the X app..but not a big problem for us!

To me it is harsh to allege that other cruisers one has never met, are people who engage in bait and switch practices in their professional dealings.. Harsh generalization with no supportive evidence ! Here's, the comment that was made that I find harsh! '..., I can't help but wonder if the folks who are supportive/defensive of X not giving people what they paid for, whether it's included Room Service, dedicated Butlers, second lobster tails, or whatever, are folks who bait and switch customers in their professional lives. The practice certainly is not exclusive to cruise lines.

Sounds like Equinox fell short esp for long time Princess cruisers. Hope X takes note..Eq was always a great ship but seems not so any more. World Class Bar was introduced as a cutting edge Concept Bar..only serving the drinks on the MENU. That's what we have always ordered..even on BEYOND, which we enjoyed. Won't know about ASCENT til next month!

All the Chairs are just wrong! Not a bad layout but no frills... very basic dorm decor! Bland colors with the orange do not covey modern luxury to me! The outdoor furn does not look comfy. How is it to sit or lounge on ?

yup.. very low end!! modern style does not have to be cheapo and it def will not hold up to hotel type use!

I use the " desk" for make up and hair..and writing notes, cards etc..

We agree 100% X was not fair, many posts state there's not much that can be done to reverse course now.. esp if cancelling incurs financial loss Reality is that some folks can only change course in the future and hopefully deal with a more reliable cruise line. Comment is a bit harsh!
