  1. very nice video tour. very steady. .With my visual issues, I think I would have problems with the "Escher" patterned floors and back splash....Luckily (or maybe not) we'll.never be on that suite! How is it at night,?
  2. Sea conditions can also affect timing! After quite a few visits to GC..we usually stay on the ship. .Excursions go off first but there is often traffic congestion, long tender lines, and high prices on the stores...
  3. Sometimes there are little gems and nuggets in footnotes of printed material. Digital a good start but not always better! Nice to have both options..
  4. Dinner portions look small on large plates..not many veggies we lkke double veggies. Maybe it's the camera angle? How was the fish? The combo breakfast plate looked great! Enjoy!
  5. Cheap bubbly used to create a log jam as one boarded.so it was spread around..Guess it is one of those disappearing nice touches... In AQ, now you have to ask for the btl..if still a perk. Goes ok with OJ in the a.m,
  6. This is helpful b/c I can relate to X ships..Esp b/c it seems E Class ships seem more comparable than Summit to the MSC ship you are on.. (We would be ovelwhelmed by really large ships of any brand.. ) Fact that so many are tuning in to this review and the Virgin thread means Celeb is losing loyal followers!
  7. i guess..but the X Board is getting more reviews for Virgin, MSC, etc. By going to the Boards for those lines, one gets a more complete picture beyond one review.. I am looking forward to the Summit review!
  8. Why do a full MSC review here on X Board..? Why not just link to the MSC Board..? https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/49-msc-cruises/ And then do a comparison when on Summit.
  9. Great deal yes but a bad precedent, even if only a few bookings are affected. BLU is space limited so it could lead to crowding..unless suite guest access is well adjusted. Did it also include Persian Garden access which is included with AQ Class? Not so great on M class but included...also a space limited area! Solution is for X to not overbook!
  10. great pics..esp sunrise! here's what we have this morning in NY (rain and wind expected overnight)
  11. We enjoyed many Radiance and Voyager class Ships,( esp Navigator)..but a long time ago.. One cruise on Oasis convinced us to stick with Celebrity. It was fine for families but no longer fit our needs, it was very mall like, and way too large.. Adult Only area aft was very crowded Glad we all have choices we can weigh!
  12. agree.. the packages brought in many new customers who use their drink packages to the max.. There's less of an incentive for bar servers ..grats are included in cost of the packages and many do not tip extra!
  13. our 7 yr old grandson, who is tech saavy, loves all the print fan mags for Pokemon.. .nice posters! He will also learn script..So sad to see grown ups sign papers in print! Travel mags and natl geographic are nicer in print Reading is fun on a tablet/ kindle but some books are worth putting on our book shelves!
  14. looks like a nice selection..and items folks can afford and also things for kiddos.. E Class falls short in this area.. too expensive..nothing for kids!
  15. we have 3 Celeb cruises booked right now.. We are quite OK with the IV cabins in E Class..we use it as added space. We see no need to open and close the bi folds. so ours stay open. We keep the window closed except for photos or views coming into a port. However, after we complete our ASCENT and APEX sailings, we will probably go back to S Class ships for a change of pace. They have alot to offer if refurbed and kept up to date. Nicer thermal area, restaurants and bars we have missed ( LCG), Ensemble Lounge..Passport Bar (?) Nice ship layout, less walking back and forth. We no longer consider Royal C ...the ships are too large and not a good fit for us anymore. If we stray..it will be to Cunard which provides a nice experience and a great spa with real T pool! Not everyone is fleeing.. This happens every few years, but interestingly quite a few return...If X improves the Retreat lounge area, Luminae and the overall suite experience at the lower end..folks will be back!
  16. great info already..and nice pics of the holiday decor we are looking forward to updates and photos
  17. big difference..Summit older but we do not like big big ships..E Class is okay.. def get our walking in!
  18. I understand them not wanting to lose revenue for the vendors and X, but a hard rule is unfair . If it's pouring rain with lightening and stiff winds, you do they really mean can't cancel an out island beach trip??? We had that situation once on Cozumel with X. Everyone was under a flimsy tent in the port area, while X and vendor rep were taking a long time to decide what to do. I called the X rep over to the side...we had a little talk. Instead of having a full revolt..he quietly and graciously wrote up a cancellation slip.. We were back on the ship while others were kept waiting much longer before it was cancelled!
  19. nothing in the various art books but one of the other Inaugural books refers to it as a light prism..but what is behind it?? near the stacks?
