  1. I read through most of the linked material on the canal expansion...very interesting. While we are hopeful of doing a full E to W transit but would need to save up $$$ for the cruise and return airfare. For now I will follow this thread !
  2. Sorry you had a rough flight! Can be terribly stressful. Hope you are safely landed by now.. !
  3. there is no debate for us we are .long time Ceeb cruisers who follow the suggested code...the newer suggestions work fine for us..shorts and flip flops are fine for the buffet..and apparently Roof Top.. no interest in any debate!
  4. neither did we and saw none, but the night of our visit was pleasant but breezy, so shorts might not have been in order..more likely a sweater. The prices are def not casual but guess it's a good option for the shorts crowd!
  5. oops I missed that when u posted all the Coco Cay info..just need basic beer for my husb
  6. We saw no one in shorts at dinner men or women. I presume it follows X dress code..It is not Fine Cut or EDEN, but not the buffet either. Men were in khakis and polos or Carib style shirts ..ladies. sun dresses, or capris..nice tops.. sweaters needed if a cool nite. btw there is no stuffy dress code on Celebrity anymore..just nice resort , country club standards. ..most men own khakis at least ...save shorts for the buffet or pool deck
  7. The beach club does look quite tempting..so I never say never! Esp if we can cruise on a non school break time! How was the food and are drinks incl in your regular package? the suites look great too.. esp the Reflection suite...
  8. They are really pushing CoCo Cay.. Guess it'll be a big money maker for X (Royal). Lucky timing on part of the cruise line as Labadee has become "iffy!" Coco Cay plus school vacation many places probably accounts for nore kiddos on board. Have a great time there...We liked it when it was pristine & one of the untouched places...but cruisers no ionger want that.
  9. if you have the time why not get the passport asap?
  10. thank you...I will have some nice reading to do. I loved the "Path Between the Seas" about the orig canal ..long book but was very complete...We enjoyed our partial transit but thinking about a full...e to w.
  11. Cheers for many more happy cruise Years!
  12. Thanks.. happy to hear this. Perhaps a return to S Class will be our new sweet spot..we like fun and being active but downtime and couples time is also important to us!
  13. Jim ..would love your thoughts.. Are you finding the cruise a good balance of events and relaxation? Is the time moving along quickly..or at a good pace?
  14. Also a shame one cannot order flowers!
  15. Curious. do the new locks work same way as old ones.. It is fascinating...
  16. sounds lIke fun and Congrats to the new ZENITHS!
  17. Agree.. they shoukd start another thread
  18. great 1st half of your journey..enjoyed your poss! thank you looking forward to more
  19. so other than the Martini Bar show, it looks all tastings now are extra charge? Liquor store used to have a few free tastings. Extra charge ones must be more in depth..but we would not pay!
  20. thanks for replies It sounds like the fix was quick and painless but perhaps only temporary..at least folks had peace!
  21. how was the problem fixed? was it a quick adjustment or more of a " project"?
  22. Interesting.. Our list of pros and cons for E Class would be much different.. We have only been in RETREAT for a short cruise on BEYOND ( for us Retreat is over rated in several ways). We have been doing E Class for awhile and see many positives. Recently however, there are a few negs including the recently disclosed creaky cabins; the louder pool music on ASCENT with a party vibe; and added sports/ games all.over the ship where there used to be calm areas for reading and relaxing. B/c of the creaky cabin issue we will be trying Silhouette after many yrs and would then be able to compare. In general, we think each cruise has its own vibe so only general comparisons can be made about the physical set up and public spaces.
